Our sewerage was backing up in the basement. We couldn't run water or flush the toilet. I called 2 other companies first. One still hasn't responded and the other one set up a time frame to visit and then called back to cancel. Elek checked their availability up front and had someone here very quickly. Very thankful.

I had Elek do a large job for me in the 80s, did a great job. Fast forward to 2021, I called about a leaky faucet in my bathroom. They asked for 100 dollars to come out and look and give me an estimate. My 100 dollars would be deducted from same. I get why you can't work for free, no money no business. I called in January. I never heard a word, no call nothing. I am 72 years of age. I simply can't spend 100 bux for zilch. Stay tuned, I called for a refund. I'm waiting for a call...

An absolutely terrible experience. We had an emergency with drain overflow. Called and was told $99 to have someone come out and investigate, which was waived with service.

Guy took 2+ hours to determine septic line was clogged, which he couldn't service, and to give us a quote for replacing well tank, installing a softener, etc. Continuous high pressure sales bs throughout.

We declined that $5000 estimate, and were presented a bill for $400 for the time he was here. Much of which was giving a quote for unrelated things. My partner balked at that, and he lowered the quote to $4200.

We told him we would not be paying either, that it was absurd to bill for giving a quote, and paid the original $99.

I can't imagine how many elderly people, or people easy to take advantage of these plumbers have ripped off with similar tactics.

Woke up on a Saturday to find the water heater leaking from the base. Called Elek they were able to dispatch Scott to come by same day. He was so quick with it and the cost was so reasonable, I figured I'd ask about water softener systems, having no experience with how they work, how much they cost, etc. He took the time to educate me and provided options. Agreeing to move forward, Scott came back next day and completed the install. By Monday, we had hot, clean, and SOFT water! Home repairs ALWAYS stress me out, but the entire experience from start to finish was professional and everyone I interacted with was kind and courteous. Highly recommend Elek!

I paid 90 dollars for a plumber to come in and tell me how to do their job.... and then they suggested I call roto router cuz it's ""cheaper"".... so that's what I'll be doing!

Requested a quote for rough plumbing of 2 apartments. This was for running water lines and drains for 1 bath and 1 kitchen for each unit. The quote was for rough plumbing only which includes water lines and drains to each kitchen and bath. It did not include water heaters, faucets, showers , baths tubs, sinks or toilets.

The quote came in at $45,000 dollars to complete what would amount to 2 days work at the most! The water lines, drains and connectors are very inexpensive. The labor worked out to about to about $2800/hr!

This was probably the most expensive quote I ever received in my 50 years of dealing with contractors. I hope if you consider this contractor you get a few quotes to compare!

When I emailed the company to express my shock at the quote. I was told to contact the company to discuss the quote. I emailed back the quote and asked how this could possibly be a reasonable quote! I never heard back by email or phone call!

Be careful, it seems like the company throws out absurd bids in the hope of no one is checking competing bids!

BTW.....the bid was nearly 8 times higher than the median bid of $6000!!

Purchased a home a few days ago and immediately found an issue with the toilet. In an attempt to simply change it out became an emergency. I called Elek and Gil was out within the hour. With all of this Covid19 business, Gil came prepared with gloves, shoe protection, mask etc. He fixed our issue, gave me tips on what to do going forward and remained professional throughout the entire process. I'd recommend Gil and Elek to everyone needing plumbing care. Thanks

Extremely dissatisfied with a non emergency job. Overcharged for a simple dishwasher installation and they did not complete the task. They refused to adjust the price when they determined that they could nor complete the job. I had to bring in another contractor to finish the job.

I called Elek at 6:00 pm, after business hours. By 6:15 I received a call back and they had a repair person on their way. Within the hour Scott arrived. It only took him minutes to find the problems. In less than an hour he had everything fixed ... a cracked water pipe, a pressure gauge, and another loose piece. I could not be more pleased with the service I received. The price was fair for all the work that was done and for coming out late in the day. I would definitely recommend and will use them in the future!!!
