Zero stars but the system wont let me.
Stay away from these guys. These guys are rude and just want to rip you off.
The guy who came to my door was not even looking at me and sat in his car and left because I told him they installed the drain access in my driveway (and they charged $1000 by the way) At this moment I told him I wanted to talk to his manager and he sat in his car and left.
I spoke to his manager and he told me ""you installed that in 2010"" - I was puzzled for a bit and didn't know what he meant.
He explained to me that 2010 doesn't count and that they didn't have to take care of me.he was telling me that I don't understand anything and basically he told me that I was lying about the discount that they promised me and I had to accept the price that he gave me.
They are the worse people you could deal with so save yourself some grief and pay a little more and bring someone else to do the job.

I've used this company for at least 6 or 7 years but I had the worst experience this time and will never use their service anymore. These people just want to rip you off! We had a toilet that's leaking water inside the toilet bowl, the technician came and said we need to replace the flapper inside the tank, fine, we paid $125 for a $7 flapper and labor. That night it started to leak again but it was on and off. I waited a week before asking them to come out again. The same technician came and said it wasn't the flapper that's causing the problem, he said our toilet was too old (20 years) and we either have to replace the whole toilet or replace the pump inside the tank. He said he can replace the toilet immediately for $699. I asked him for the make and model of the toilet and he said he can only tell me it's a Kohler toilet and couldn't give me the model number or show me a picture of it. Kohler makes many different types of toilets, how can I agree to have one install without even knowing how it looks like and what model it is! I asked him how much it was to replace the pump and this Korean guy suddenly got mad at me and said he's not going to touch the toilet anymore because the toilet is too old. I told him he gave me an option and what does he mean by he's not going to replace the pump? I paid $125 to replace the flapper which wasn't even the cause of the problem! He told me to call the office direct and just walked out the door.
Fine, I called the office and the guy who answered the phone said he'll send another guy over to see what's going on. I requested him to send Kim, the technician who had worked on various repairs at my house over the years and he checked the schedule and agreed to send him on Monday morning. That morning I waited till pass the appointment time and no one showed up. I called the office again and was told Kim wasn't working that day and ended up sending Scotty. He didn't even try to fix the toilet and immediately said we need to replace the whole toilet. I asked him if I can purchase the toilet myself and have them installed it. He said it'll costs $399 just for the installation!!! Home Depot only charges $130! I then asked him if he's going to credit me back the $125 for replacing the flapper? He said he'll credit me if I spend $699 on a new toilet plus installation but he'll only credit me $75 if I purchase the toilet myself and pay $399 for installation only. What??? the original guy came to replace something that was actually working fine and I have to pay for it? We decided we rather let the $125 go down the drain than to let these people rip us off even more. My husband went to Home Depot and asked the staff there for advice and the guy told us to just lift the refill tube slightly higher inside the overflow pipe and that should solve the problem. We did that and the toilet hasn't leaked for a few weeks now.
Drain Doctor has just lost a long time customer.

If I could give Zero stars I would. I called the office and explained we had a toilet backing up into our shower. We had a friend who was a plumber snake the shower drain and that had taken care of this before, so I explained what we needed to the nice gentleman on the phone. he said fine, and he would send someone out within the hour. 10 minutes later I get a call from ""Scotty' at the Santa Clara office who proceeded to tell me I was crazy to think that they could clear the drain through our shower. I pushed back and said, that's the way its been done before. We have young children who sometimes put wrappers and things down the toilet, and the debris gets stuck in our trap. The snaking was able to clear it no problem. As he was yelling at me that I was dead wrong, I asked if he was even going to send anyone out to check what other options were, and he said ""not if you want us to snake your shower drain"". I said, as long as it gets fixed, who cares how you do it. He continued his anger, and at that point Id had enough and yelled back. Never will I use a company who employs people who are so disrespectful. Shame on you Drain Doctor. maybe the owners should actually read some of these reviews, then give the business an enema.

I don't typically write reviews but these guys are a rip off. They don't communicate clearly what they are doing, they over charge and they tried to make me replace a 3 year-old garbage disposal that is in perfect shape.

Happy customer here....My water heater was not working (no hot water) and I called the first business I could find in the phone book, which was the Drain Doctor. The technician came out within 30 minutes from the time I called and quoted me a fair price. He installed our new water heater and the technician was very professional. I am very happy now that I have hot water and will call Drain Doctor again if I ever need a plumber. Thank you Drain Doctor for being professional, quoting a fair price, and taking care of me in a very timely manner.

DO NOT CALL THESE PEOPLE, YOU WILL PAY MORE MONEY AND HAVE NOTHING WORK. We used this company about 3 years ago for my sewer clogged; they were great at that time, BUT NOT NOW. My tenant called them for sewer clogged service like before. They responded really fast less than 45 min that was great. He told my tenant called me and told me that we needed the outside clean out, I asked him if we have the clean out outside, he will able solve the sewer problem from the tree root, and also on the phone conversation I told him I want the clean out near the side walk (that was my mistake I did not say City side walk). He said yes and charges me for $1300 for a clean out. He put in the outside clean out the next day while I was not there. The new outside clean out was put in on the grass 6 feet away from my front door, but they said they could not unclogged the sewer line, now he said we need to have a City clean out and asking $4500 more. What kind free estimate is that? I told him NO. Are they professional or guessing plumber? I have no choice to pay $1300 to them because the outside clean out already put in, why do they put the City clean out the first place? why do I need an outside clean out 8 feet away from the City clean out? To make sure that is not just a come out plumber personal problem, I called the office to complain, the office was back up their plumbers, the office said the plumber was right. So Drain Doctor policy is total RIP OFF.
I called other plumbers to get the estimate for the City clean out the day after, their price was A LOTS cheaper than Drain Doctor, and most of the plumber told me I do not need a city clean out since I already had outside clean out not too far from the street. Finally I called Drain King, he put the camera and told me that he could snake it and the sewer will be fine. I paid him $150 for camera and snake, my sewer line was clear, instead pay $4500 more for the City clean out which I do not need. The reason Drain King used the big cutter on the snake, while Drain Doctor used the small cutter on the snake, so they can say to you they cannot clean your sewer line. Drain Doctor is A RIPPED OFF COMPANY. WASTING YOUR MONEY AND TIME. If I can give 0 star I would. If you check BBB website, there already had complains on their service. Hope this will help others not go the same path I did.

Stay Away From This Company! My 84 year old mother awoke to hear water running in the crawlspace beneath her house. She found Drain Doctor in the phone book and asked them to come out for the repair. They sent out Emerson to repair the plumbing. Emerson noted correctly that there was a few inches of water under the master bathroom and that he couldn't work in the water. He recommended Dry Force and my mom called them to take care of the water, which they did in a about an hour for $800 (essentially kitty litter). Emerson comes out again and says that a copper elbow (no more than about $2.00) needed to be replaced. From the hatch in the floor to the repair, was 10 feet (I crawled down there to verify that) and the repair took a maximum of 2 hours to remove the other elbow and solder the parts together. He charged my 84 year old mother $794. for parts ($2) and labor. Let me see...in my book that's close to four hundred dollars an hour.
I called the plumber to get my facts straight and hear what he had to say. He confirmed my suspicions and so I called the owner of the company and wanted to know why they had charged her so much. I mentioned how much that comes to per hour and he disregarded my comment. I asked him about senior citizen discounts and he said he gives them. I asked if he gave my mother a discount and he wouldn't answer my question but just talked over me. All the reviews I have listed on Yelp have been good reviews concerning other companies and so I called him to let him know that I wasn't happy and that I was giving him an opportunity to redeem himself. He really didn't care and wouldn't listen to me. He kept saying she signed the contract.
My mother was charged for a total of $1595. for three hours worth of work. Plumbing parts about $2. Granular Absorbent (think kitty litter) about $100.
Dry Force was really expensive at about $700 an hour for the fresh water leakage, not sewage water.
Drain Doctor was also very expensive and capricious. God forbid your on a fixed income.
I know what I'm talking about as I am a professional home inspector with a contractors license. I live over an hour away and was not informed of her need until after the work was done. Most of the people who have worked for her deserve five stars and are a credit to their professions. Not so with these two companies. Caveat Emptor!

We had two busted water pipes over our flat roof during the freezing temps in December. We called a plumbing company but did not show up. We called the Drain Doctor and they responded quickly. They took care of the problems twice in a row. My husband and I were pretty satisfied with the response of these guys. Not only they were quick but also very professional and nice people. They care about your situation and offered to give advise so that you don't experience the same problem.

About 7 p.m. I discovered our seldom-used downstairs toilet had backed up. Searching the Yellow Pages, I called a firm that, based on the phone number, I thought was local (Richmond). They aren't, but they cover the bay area. The quote of $400 was reasonable, because I'd had the job done before. I was told that a plumber would arrive in 45 minutes to an hour. I called back when he didn't. He did arrive at about 10:30. The delay is my only concern.

Once Matt arrived, he assessed the situation and dealt with it. At two minutes to midnight, I paid exactly $400. The worker and the work were all I could have hoped for. I don't even think the neighbors were disturbed by the noise of the router.

Now, I'm considering them for the trenchless pipe replacement job that will eliminate these annual midnight inconveniences.
