Gunther and son Peter are my next door neighbors. They have helped me out a number of times, both with favors and as paid contractors for a larger job. They are extremely professional, experienced, honest and friendly. I know Gunther and Peter take pride in their ability to respond to calls fast - most of their work is in the Outer Sunset neighborhood. The family has lived in the same location in the Outer Sunset for over 40 years. They have also installed about half the bathrooms on our block and we all love them - they are great!

Gunter and his son Peter have saved us multiple times: when kitchen sink backed up on Christmas Eve, when our downstairs bathroom flooded, when we've had leaky faucets and so on. They're awesome. They come quickly, they know what they're doing. They're pleasant. Some have mentioned that they're pricey, but I think it's fair for the level of expertise and service you get.

Our kitchen sink became stopped up last night. I tried two doses of Drano and hot water, with no effect. Pulled off the u-joint, but it was clear. This morning I went on Yelp and noted that Ehrich's Plumbing was not far from me, and, while there were only three reviews, all were excellent.

As previously noted, this is a father and son business. Pete, the son, was at our home right on time, and he got right to work. After diagnosing the problem, he had to use a long electric snake to get the clog about 15 feet down the pipes. Done in under an hour. Paid a very reasonable rate.

To have done this myself, I would have been back and forth to Home Depot, renting first a manual snake, then back for a motorized snake, and I would've spent at least half a day. I am very glad to have utilized Ehrich's Plumbing, and I will again, when needed.

After my sink broke and started leaking all over the kitchen, I searched on Yelp and saw Ehrich's Plumbing's five-star reviews. I called and spoke with the father (it's a father and son team) at about 3PM on a rainy Monday afternoon. The son, Peter, arrived at my home about 20 minutes later!

Peter took a look, found the problem, provided me a detailed estimate, and gave me specific directions on where to go buy another faucet (which saved me about an hour of labor)! He charged me for less time than he actually spent here, and did a fantastic job.

As the owner of a beautiful home, I'm always careful about who I invite in. Pete's personality leads one to trust him immediately, and the trust is well deserved. He's a quality person, as well as an excellent plumber.

I give Ehrich's my highest recommendation.

This father and son team is everything the reviews say, excellent work, won't try to upsell you, good communication of the task at hand, very punctual, and I didn't find them pricey either.

I used this father-son team for a small job but I really liked them. The dad seems to love people, and talking to them, while the son is all business (C'mon, Dad, we gotta keep moving.). He runs up and down stairs to make sure the leak's gone, while you can engage Pop on just about any topic under the sun. As the reviewer Julie C. said here, Gunter is like the granddad you never had. A truly warm human being.

The work was done quickly and expertly enough. They offered alternate solutions with different price points, to save you time and money. They arrived early, which is common in the trades, but something I find mildly inconvenient, if you're coming from somewhere else to meet them. Thankfully, their cheaper solution fixed my leak, so now I'm considering them for another bigger job..

They're located in the middle Sunset and seem to know the architecture and plumbing of those old "Jr. 5s" and "Inner Patio" style homes. Probably why they can get to a Sunset district jobsite so fast.

When nobody else would help, Gunter's son came out on a Sunday morning to fix my DIY attempt at installing an old fashioned toilet. He also showed me how to clear the drains in the bathroom sink and shower. He also showed me how to set it up to be a low flow toilet. His service and price were excellent. He didn't try and sell me anything I didn't need. I would use Ehrlich's plumbing again.

Reliable, professional, honest, reasonable. Good old-fashioned customer service with a smile. This father-son team has been an established local business for decades, and their only advertising is through word-of-mouth recommendations. The son came out within a day to install a gas pipe for my dryer. My home is old and the existing piping was installed poorly, so needless to say, it was a challenge. He finished the job that day despite the difficulties and still charged $200 less than another plumber would have.

I would definitely recommend Ehrich's Plumbing.

How does one put a value on reliable professionals? First I tried another plumbing business which I found in the yellow pages but they never bothered to returned my call. I then called Ehrich's Plumbing and an appointment was made for the same afternoon. They were helpful, courteous and informative (found out that the leaking valve probably cost me the unexplained 100.00 increase in my water bill, but that there was recourse through the water dept!) Plus they were done and out the door in 20 minutes with a smile! Great father/son team.
