I'm a DIYer but i don't know how to solder. I needed a small job done connecting old galvanized to the two handle shower manifold. Gary came within an hour of my calling the office. He was great. I understand plumbing basics. He was more than willing to discuss the process and observe him work. Made a good watertight seal that I don't have to worry about. Very reasonable price (probably a little cheaper because I already had the wall open). Thank you!

I called Ehret because our furnace wasn't working. Josh came out at 8 pm at night, as promised. He was polite, communicative, and very efficient. And really a nice guy. He showed us exactly what had happened and fixed the problem. He is terrific, and Ehret is great for having him on their staff.

Don't use these crooks! They'll over charge you, break your stuff and won't fix it. They came to move our water tank and we had hot water before but now we don't and they won't fix it saying they didn't think it was a big deal.

This review is regarding Marvin, who works for Ehret Plumbing. I am a long time customer of Ehret Plumbing and I remember about 13 years ago they sent Marvin out to repair my water heater. He was a new hire at the time, and did an excellent job, was professional, very knowledgeable and fixed the problem. Then I needed help with the toilets and sinks, and again Ehret sent Marvin. Marvin skillfully repaired the toilets and sinks.

When I decided to sell the house, I called Ehret to do the sewer lateral repair. Again, Ehret sent Marvin. And again, Marvin did an excellent job, and my house passed the sewer inspection without any issue.

Now, several years later.... I called Ehret again to fix the leaking sounds inside the toilet tanks. Once again, Ehret sent Marvin and he fixed the problem. Marvin is a hard working, very dedicated technician who fixes what ever plumbing problem you give him. He is honest and reliable. I would give him more stars if I could....

I hired Egret company to fix a leaky faucet in a rental unit, it was flooding the bathroom so we had to get someone in asap, Ehret was the only company available then. They came, fixed the faucet and snaked the tub that was draining slowly but broke the drain, granted that was a poorly installed flexible rubber drain so i don't blame them for that. They came back 2 days later to fix the drain. It was a little bit of a difficult job in the crawl space with pipes in the way but not that hard either. All in all, it took them about 4-4.5 hours total, charged $1982, parts were about $120 total. I agreed to the price at the time because, again, they were the only ones available, but looking at the bill, it looks like they charged me about $475/hour which is insane to me. What a ripoff!

Our sink was not working. I called Ehret midday, they said a plumber would come by my house between three and five, plumber came at 4:30. The plumber was very polite and professional and took a few things apart and found what was broken, showed me and then fixed it. I was charged what The person on the phone said I would be charged.

The service was exactly as I expected and I have no complaints.

We have a rental property in Oakland, sewer clogs usually every couple of years. Well it has been happening more often. I called my usual plumber but he said oakland was out of his area and he recommended Ehret Plumbing. I called them to see if they had time to send someone to snake out the sewer. The lady that answered was really friendly and said a technician would be out in less than an hour.
About 45 minutes later my plumber shows up, I explain to him my situation. Gary got straight to work ,ran his snake and was able to clear clog but explained to me sewer might be broken because mud was on the end of his snake. So he explained to me the next step which was to run a camera to see where the problems was. I got to say it was pretty cool seeing on the camera the inside of my sewer line. He showed me where my problem was and what needed to be done to fix it. Gary didn't try to sell me on something I didn't need. He said all I needed was fix a small section of pipe and we would be good. I really appreciate his honesty. I went ahead and agreed with price for the work. He called for another guy to help him dig up the sewer and fix pipe. I have to say it was a pretty pleasant experience with Ehret. They left the yard like they found it. Can't even tell where they dug up the sewer. I will definitely use them again for any of my properties I have in Oakland. Thanks again Ehret

I have to confess I would not have hired Ehret based on Yelp reviews! However someone in my CoHousing community decided to hire them for intermittent work (we have 14 units). They have just installed 2 tankless water heater systems and I just hired them myself for a broken pipe and badly clogged kitchen sink (which I couldn't clear myself with a snake). They did everything promptly and professionally at a reasonable rate (we got a discount as we have agreed that while we are happy with their service we will call on them for our plumbing needs).

A lot of the bad reviews are old so I wonder whether there has been any change in management that has helped things. No complaints.
