Kim M.So I am having trouble with my water heater. Called E h m a n out of Oregon last Tuesday and set up an appointment for today since I am working remotely. I was told I would get a call from them this morning letting me know what time they'd be out.
So I called at 9:30 this am and the lady says he will call this morning and has me on the schedule... it's 11:30 and I am starting to think I need to call Mike wright to get someone out here.
Quoted approximately $300 to run 20 ft of gas line when job was done with 20 ft of gas line the they gave me a bill of $743.20, I was quoted $9 a foot. The gave me a time slot of 8am - 11am at 10:45 I called them they never showed up until 1pm they arrived without tools and charged me for second trip.
They came to replace a water heater in record time. Did not repair the chimney, although they said they would as it was unsafe. My son went down to check it out and it was completely open, not venting outside the house at all. I called them and they couldn't come out for TWO WEEKS. Leaving carbon monoxide flowing into my home. When they finally did come, it was TWO guys that spent about 20 mins fixing what should have been mandatory for installation. Then I get a bill for $196. I wrote a letter and sent $100, asking to split the bill since it should have been done before these two morons left the FIRST time. Got no response but an invoice for $106. Now I understand why everyone I asked about this place said NO BUENO.
They haven't had a good review since 2015. Gi figure.
Steven F.Been using this place for 17+ years the service is great there repair employees really know there stuff!
I called and made an appt on Jan 9th for Jan 24th. I didn't ask what time they'd show up so when they hadn't shown or called by 1:45, I called and was told someone would still be out. I called at 4:46 to see what was going on but they were closed so I left a message. Someone called me back Monday the 27th & left a voice mail for me. I called back & tried to reschedule. I asked for someone to come after 4:00 so I wouldn't have to lose another days pay. (I had taken the day off to be home for them so not only didn't they show, but I lost a days pay because of them.) I was told someone would contact me. No one ever has.
I'd used Ehmen's before so I don't know why this happened but 4 months later, I'm still upset about it. I called Simlers in Forreston and they came out and fixed my sink.
Do not use this company!!! They put a new water heater in about 6 years ago. It crapped out on me about a month ago...but was still under warranty. I called them to get simply get it replaced under warranty...nothing other than that. Without telling me what was involved at all...they said they would replace the water heater. I'm thinking...ok...I will get a new water heater comp'd and then there will be some labor involved....right???
I just get a bill in the mail for $563 dollars!!!!!!!!!! That is absurd!!!! For switching out a water heater????!!!!!! They charged me $95 just for the trip out for the guy to tell me I needed a new one. No s**t I needed a new one!!!! Maybe I already new that with the gallons of water leaking all over my floor....and then you are going to charge me $95 to have someone come out and tell me that????!!!! Then....I wasn't around when they installed it...and it turns out...they bring 2 guys out to fix it. 2 guys to simply replace a water heater.....why....so you can charge me more????!!!! Then....they charge me 2.5 hours of labor for EACH guy. 5 total hours of labor just to replace a water heater!!! On top of it...they charge me different rates per hour for the 2 guys....one is $75/hr and the other is $95/hr. What???
So let me ask this....does one of them have a PHd in water heaters where he is $20 more per hour for his master water heater installation skills??????!!!!!!!! Unbelievable!!!!!
And the topper of it all...I call to complain...ask them to rationalize their fees....their manager Marty gets on the phone and tells me...""Well...the guy had to come out and see if it was in fact broken...and then he had to make a couple phone calls...so that is what the $95 charge is. Then the water heater wasn't exactly the same...yada yada....""
I said....""this is completely unacceptable!!! $562 just for labor to install/replace a water heater that your company installed in the first place????!!!!!!!!! This is BS!!!!!!""
And then you know what his response was.....""Well then pay the bill and don't ever call us again!!!""
Well Marty...you got half of that right you jerk. I certainly won't ever call you again...but you won't ever see a dime from me!!!
Beatrice K.Terrible business practice showed up to complete a replacement water heater. 45 minutes while at the job site they up and left without saying a word. I would not recommend doing business with a company who can't complete the work or tell you their leaving.
Wish I could give them a negative. Think twice before hiring them...and then keep on thinking until you think of someone else before you hire them. I was stupid and tried them 3 times. The first time, they were good. They met the city worker here and was on standby while the city turned the water on for the first time. They were kind of expensive, but they did the job and even told me about a couple of things to watch for. The second time they came for a leak. They were very late and cost about double of what they told me it would be. The third time I needed them to replace the whole house water shutoff and they knew that before they came. The guy came in, looked at the broken shutoff valve, laughed and said he didn't do water, and as he headed out the door, said we should just do it ourselves and didn't need a plumber and that he just came to do the evaluation anyway....and then hit me with an $80 bill for the ""evaluation"" Never again. I now use Anderson Plumbing and Heating (Rochelle) and they are fantastic.
