Effective Plumbing and Drain Cleaning

Not equipped for gas line installation to convert a kitchen from electric to gas. Unfortunately, I chose Effective Plumbing and Drain for my gas line installation. I wanted to go with a local company, and Josh and family seemed like a good team and had really good reviews on yelp. I should have read them more thoroughly, none of the reviews involve a gas line installation. Although they were responsive and prompt, they were not equipped/experienced to do the gas line into my parent's home. During our consultation, they explained to me that they've done gas lines many times, and I took them at their word for it. They would install it then go retrieve a permit from the city with an inspection the next day. They do this all the time they said. They arrived on time as scheduled, were clean and tidy, and installed a line. After the install, the wife went to get a permit with the city, and was denied. What they put in was too small/inadequate for safe gas needs from the stove. (Which they didn't check any specifications of the stove before they installed the line). The city essentially told them what they had to do, even calculated the requirements, and wanted drawings. However, Effective plumbing was not eqiupped to do a drawing, and decided to pull out of the job and un-install the line they had done the day before. This was agreeable to me because I wanted someone who knew what he was doing, until we tried to find another plumbing company to complete the job. All other companies said you never install without a permit first...no legitimate plumber would install something like a gas line without a permit, especially with all the PG&E fires recently. Whatever they had done with the city caused further delay and roadblocks for the second company I contracted out. The city delayed the permit for a couple of months and now my kitchen remodel is in month four and still not complete. I will be submitting a formal complaint with the city, as well as the Better Business Bureau.

My call was promptly returned and I was given the approximate time they would show up to fix my leak. They were friendly and efficient and I would recommend them to anyone in need of a plumber.

Had a leak coming from under the sink, called Effective Plumbing. Joshua and Emily come out and diagnose my problem as being a leaky faucet, so they replaced it with a new one they had on hand, which was nice, no having to go and get one from the store, making this job quick and easy. They were amazing. Called them after another company came and failed to see or fix my problem with my water heater. They were very helpful and professional. They came the next day and fixed my problem and had my water heater up and running in no time. (And it was more than just relighting the pilot light). Hands down the most effective (haha) plumber I have ever hired. Josh explained each step of what he was doing and why. They snaked the line once, filled the sink, and then watched it drain to see if it was draining properly. He determined that there was still build-up at the end of the line and so decided to snake again. He assessed the main line out to the street. He capped a line no longer in use under a bar sink (for an extra cost). He also gave a 30 day guarantee on the work performed. I have used Johnson's Plumbing several times and I have never had this kind of friendly, considerate service. He also gave me a heads up about Bio-clean. I looked it up on Amazon and the product had high reviews. Best part is, Josh was selling it for $10 less than available on Amazon.

Effective Plumbing and Drain Cleaning has completed three separate jobs at my home and have been punctual, tidy and yes, effective every time. They've cleared a sink clog, installed a toilet and most recently installed a garbage disposal. Communication is wonderful, I received a confirmation call the night before my appointment, then another call when Josh and Emma were 15 minutes away.
