Since its founding in 1968, Edwards Electrical & Mechanical has provided top-notch Electrical and Mechanical Solutions. Operating as a merit shop, we deliver a wide-ranging array of HVAC, electrical services, and related services to commercial clients.

We provide heating solutions, ventilation solutions, air conditioning services, refrigeration, electrical services, sheet metal, piping solutions, facility management, plumbing services, and certified welding.

Established by Don and Ruth Edwards in the year 1968, Edwards Electrical and Mechanical, Inc. originated as a humble labor union commercial shop based out of their home garage. It flourished quickly, moving to an vintage two-story house at the corner of East Street and Terrace in 1970. By 1972, Edwards Electric transitioned to a merit-based operation, and just six years later, in the year 1978, the company expanded to a 2,500 sq. ft. facility at the intersection of East Street and Merrill.

By 1981, this facility became too small, and while working with a client, MacDougall and Pierce, extra 2500 square feet were added onto the structure. Throughout the 70s and early 80s, our annual sales were between $750K and 1,000,000. During 1980, we updated our name to Edwards Electrical and Refrigeration, and refrigeration services remains a important part of our service portfolio. In 1998, FirstEnergy Corporation, a public utility holding company based in Akron, Ohio, acquired Edwards Electrical & Mechanical.
