Perplexed. I guess they are really busy? Neighbors are positive about them, met one of the techs (friendly, capable, knowledgeable) and sales (same).... now if I could only get them to give me a quote I can make a decision, even if its not NOW for the install (its for heat, its spring and ... I'd just like to lock this in place to plan for fall)...
Maybe I need to speak to other vendors...
Great job installing a new boiler in my house this past January. Price was competitive with other installers and the installation was professionally done.
Jay B.the worst. we have a service agreement it means nothing. Air conditioning not functioning properly only six months after installing new equipment. phoned six times to schedule service email twice no response at all after one week. they outsource answering service to people who have no way of communicating with the company other than email.
no point in calling this company because nobody will call you back small claims Court 101 to recover prepaid service a
Exceptional service. Our furnace went on the blink during a very cold night. Edgerton's service technician, Ron, came out at 2 in the morning to work on it. Returned the next day with a new part and gave us heat again. Prompt, efficient and friendly. Glad we have had service contracts for our heat and AC for many years.
Great service! Frank arrived, diagnosed my a/c problem, had the part on the truck & fixed my system in record time. He also took the time to explain what he'd done as well as make sure that the system was functioning correctly. Can't say enough; wonderful experience!
I have used Edgerton for several years, so when I had a plumbing issue this Spring I called them first. The main drain from my house was backing up into the basement.
They sent someone out that day (Monday), which was fine. He did not have a snake long enough for our septic line so he said they would have to send someone out the next day. Turns out they subcontracted without telling me. So the person who showed up the next day(Tuesday) was from a different place. He did have a longed snake but found nothing...big warning sign as there was clearly still a problem.
I called Edgerton after that visit and asked them what was up, that no one told me they were subcontracting, and I explicitly asked them if I was going to have to pay all the subcontractor charges. They said NO I was not...man I wish I could record calls... I asked this because I was NOT happy with the guy that had showed up, who snaked the line with the longer snake and shrugged, not finding anything.
SO since I cleared that up with Edgerton that I wasn't going to have to pay the subcontractor fee, just their fee, I decided to let them handle it.
So its now Wednesday, and Edgerton arranges for the subcontractor to come out again. They do. They open ONE part of the septic, see that its full and point at it going ""There is your problem"". He tells me to get it pumped and leaves, like he actually verified that that would fix it..?!
So I get the Septic Pumped that afternoon, but my septic guy said its probably your outlet filter. HE opens that up and see it is pretty clogged and cleans it out. I now have an empty Septic, cleaned outlet from the Septic guy, not the subcontractor. (So awesome, thanks Septic guy for doing a good job.)
Still have problem of course...since the subcontractor never checked anything other than ""hey your septic is full"".
So now its Thursday...Edgerton continues to arrange to have this terrible subcontractor come out...but hey since I verified with them I wouldn't have to pay for all this I was fine with it, even though the subcontractor was terrible. So the subcontractor sends out a more experienced guy with a trainee. They apologize for the previous failed attempts(which is somewhat nice...they recognize their terrible first attempts) and state that their guys should have opened the septic first thing and opened all 3 openings. So of course the 3rd opening, the INLET had never been looked at. We open it up, big clog, hits it with his shovel and boom water is flowing. Solved.
Aftermath: Edgerton bills me for their service, I pay it right away. A month later they send a bill for all of this subcontractor work. I then proceed to call them to clarify that I had called explicitly about asking that it was on them not me to handle the subcontractor fee. Otherwise I NEVER would have continued using this subcontractor! In the end they denied that could ever be the case, that they would consider absorbing the subcontractor charge. I really didn't care if that made sense or not, but I had called them to ask them if that was the case and they said I wouldn't have to. Bottom line this was a nightmare. Countless phone calls to try and clear this up, Edgerton never budged. I asked them how they could subcontract like this for crappy work. Is it ok for the subcontractor to bill me anything they like and Edgerton will simply ""pass that cost along to me""...apparently that is the case....beware. At a minimum Edgerton could have negotiated with the terrible job done by the subcontractor and split the cost with me, a long time good customer. But no, they simply only care about their bottom line and not about losing a good customer, which they most certainly have. (I never had an issue with any of the technicians by the way, so if any read this you guys are fine...its your management team that is terrible)
First time customer, and what a pleasure it was. Scheduled a AC/Heat pump tune-up for the season. Service tech Adi D called, to see if he could come earlier. Arrived at my residence and identified himself. Went to work, and was very curtious and polite. Kept me informed on what was going on, and how my unit was functioning. I am completely satisfied with his work, and probably will become a new customer.
Thanking you in advance.
I don't understand all of the negative reviews. My family has been using Edgerton since 1988. We are completely satisfied customers and have been treated with nothing but respect. Recently, I called because I was selling my father's home and the furnace needed service. They knew I was only in town for a few days and came right out. I will let all my family and friends in the area know that Edgerton is a reliable company. It's unfortunate when people judge a one time miscommunication.
Robbie Roberta P.I've known Edgerton's superb service since my parents used them when I was a kid. When I moved back to CT about 20 years ago, there was no question where I'd call for heating, air conditioning or plumbing. Their staff is high quality which I am willing to pay for so the job is done right. Their service contracts save me money in the long run.
Sandra W.Pretty surprised by the negative reviews. We had them in to fix our hydro-air system. The system is always a problem and getting someone to fix it is challenging. We called Edgerton, they came when they said they would, the man knew exactly what was wrong and fixed it less than 5 minutes. Then I asked him a series of questions about how we could avoid the problem in the future. He was thorough, friendly and most important knowledgeable. Wow they have one happy customer. As a reference point one company we had in told us the system was set up wrong and would cost $2k to fix - the system is not set up wrong - it was a simple fix.
