We noticed a leak around our water heater. We had previously had great service from Edco so we called them again. They came out within an hour. At first they were not certain if it was a slab leak or in the wall. After further inspection they found it was a line in the wall behind the water heater. Since we have PB lines we had them replace both lines going to water heater. They were courteous, prompt and did a great job. We have a home warranty but their plumbers are terrible so we called Edco and will call them in the future!
Our furnace went out on January 22nd, and after calling a few places, Edco was able to come out and service us right away. We ended up needing a new pressure switch, which the tech told us he had on hand, and would cost us $501 in addition to the $85 service charge. Having a newborn at home and being a freezing cold day, we didn't have time to price shop, so we agreed to the repair right away. Upon researching afterwards, we realized we were ripped off on the price of the part and fix. Fast forward to February 9th and the furnace goes out again. We called another local company who came out and confirmed to us that their charge for the same exact part and repair would have been $210 less. Bottom line...Edco is dishonest, price gauges and takes advantage of people in emergency situations. In addition, their quality of work is questionable. We will never use them again, nor would we recommend them to anyone.
My normal plumber was unavailable so I called Edco. I needed the gasket between the tank and the bowl of my toilet replaced. I was charged $85 for a visit then $300 for parts and labor. The parts were less than $20 and the job lasted one hour. I feel like I was severely overcharged. The plumber said they don't charge by the hour, but rather by the job. I feel like $280 to replace a gasket is ridiculous.
Update: I shared the receipt with my normal plumber who was taking some time off over the holidays and he said it should've cost $200 less.
DO NOT USE EDCO UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO SEVERELY OVERPAY
Price gougers par excellence. Refused to provide itemized invoice, refused to justify charges. Recommend using any plumber other than this company
Called them out to fix a small leak. Mike, the ""tech"" came out and spent 15 min on the phone with the owner because he didn't know what to do. Then he tells me it's going to be $900 to fix. I paid for their show up fee and told him no thanks. He then proceeded to tell his boss on the phone some choice words about me in front of my wife and kids as he walked out. Needless to say, I called another plumber and he fixed it for $150. My new plumber laughed and said they were trying to rob me. Bad business, bad customer service. DON'T LET THEM TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU!!!
Loved that they showed up with a mask and it would be great if they keep it up whole time while they are working! They said it would cost $85 to repair a toilet clogged which took 5 minutes and we ended up paying $300! He said $85 is to find the problem and when I asked him what was the issue he said he doesn't know!!
Definitely not gonna use their service again!
What a scam! Charged $85 trip charge to connect a fire pit then after estimated the job so high it was completely unreasonable. The ""Technician"" spent 5 minutes and a phone call for $85 and no work. This is a sick game and trick! I would never recommend such business practices.
$350 to replace a $15 part. Need I say more? The guy they sent out was nice but a rip off is a rIp off.
Ed Gregory came to my place of business to check for a slab leak.
He but he only found a fitting leak.
He was very reasonably priced.
I would recommend to anyone to use his services.
Last March, we hired Edco plumbing to cap a gas line in our attic due to a leak in our fireplace. He came out and did the job. Fast forward to last week- our AC has been acting up and after repairing some parts, it still wasn't keeping up right. The heat and air guy came out and looked around and asked if someone had done any work on our fireplace. We said yes last March. He informed us that whoever had called the gas line, also cut a hole in our plenum. So our AC has been sucking in hot attic air and trying to cool it. We called edco plumbing and the woman who answered the phone was extremely rude and condescending, saying that they would never cut into a plenum. Due to the location of the gas line they capped, and the hole in the plenum, it's pretty obvious that it was done. We emailed them photos and asked for an explanation. None was given. We asked them to just come out to the house and show us how they accessed the gas line without making the hole- nope. They don't have time to do that unless we want to pay a service fee. Bottom line- don't use this company. I can get over a mistake happening if he didn't realize what he did and was willing to fix it. But refusing to even come out and look? Unacceptable.
Also- I considered the fact that the hole was already there when he repaired the gas line. Edco plumbing is also a heat and air company. So if the hole was already there, I would assume they would acknowledge it to the homeowner so that A) no one blames them for it and B) we know our AC will not work properly.
