Excellent people to work with, no matter what the problem is. Long term concerns were addressed and repaired. Can't ask for more.

Phil has been great to get back to us quickly and cover what we needed done promptly. Thank you for the first two visits that have addressed our issues completely, and while I hope not to need more plumbing, I look forward to excellent customer service again if any plumbing is needed.

Disastrous experience(s). They had done some minor work for me but I then called them in because the water from the washing machine backed up into the laundry sink and overflowed There had been an issue for a very long time with a slight amount backing up but never to this magnitude. They sent in one guy who used a snake with no results. Of course I was charged quite a it for that visit. They then sent in a second guy with a major professional snake and he snaked all the way down to the basement and supposedly cleared a blockage. I then paid a fortune once again for the second visit. I will admit that this problem was solved, and I just accepted that this was an expensive repair and worth it in the end. However, a few days later I walked into the laundry room and realized it smelled musty and damp and when I looked at the windows I saw water rolling down the inside of all of them. I had no idea there was any connection to the job on the washing machine so I called the guy who has always repaired my washer and dryer. He discovered that when they pulled the dryer vent out of the way to cut a hole in the wall to get to where they needed to go with the snake they not only dislodged, but broke part of the venting so that instead of everything being blown out to the outside of the house, a good bit of it was coming into the house where it broke. He had to replace the entire venting from the dryer to the outside and that cost me another good bit of money. I did even bother informing Ferry of what happened. What would the point be?

A couple of weeks later I called them to replace a cartridge in my whole house water filter. I showed the guy where it was and pointed out that there was a bypass valve so he didn't have to turn off the water to the house. He argued that was not true, and that the bypass was only to keep water from going through the filter. Got that????? Good morning! He couldn't get the casing open and was struggling with it and he was no small guy. There was water squirting all over the floor as he kept trying to turn the casing so the top would open. I was waiting for the whole unit to crack open, and he was getting frustrated and annoyed. I finally stopped him and told him to leave. I turned on the faucet in the bathroom next door and the water was fine. I said it didn't look as though he had turned the water off at all, and he said he did, but that he had just turned it back on. No, he didn't have time to do that before I checked the faucet. I wonder if he ever even turned the right valve and that it was water pressure which kept him from getting the canister open.

I called the company and the guy who answered said he had already heard I kicked the plumber out, and when I said the guy who was here did not know what he was doing, he said ""Yes, he did"" and said they would not send anyone else. I gather this was Ed himself. He was nasty to put it mildly.

So much for a company which prides itself on hiring top notch people because they ""unionized"" in order to get better people. I would hate to see what they hired before they unionized.

I called another plumber, the guy came the next day, knew exactly what to do, had no problem opening the filter casing and I was back in business in no time. Guess what? They are not unionized. Stay away from Ed Ferry. They are incompetent, unaccommodating, way overpriced, and nasty to boot.

I had a frozen water supply pipe burst. Called early in the morning and got a call back from Ed within the hour and a pro on the job that morning. Rob did the repair. Worked quickly, neat, and kept me informed. Nice job and a fair price. I've been a client for 20+ years. Great service.

Ed Ferry is an excellent plumber. He has been doing work for many years around Great Neck and Manhasset and is very reliable with deep knowledge. You deal directly with the owner and Ed himself is still hands-on in addition to having very good staff. His work and service is as good as it gets.
