My father, who is 84, called this place to put in a handicapped toliet seat, and self-adhisive rubber triangle by the shower so my mom who is also 84 does not slip getting out of the shower. My mom has Dementia, and has fallen once already.

The guy came over with the toliet seat and rubber triangle and started putting the toliet seat in. When my father asked to see it, the guy told him it was late in the afternoon and he had to finish. My father sent in my moms caregiver to see the toliet seat and if it was ok and when she went into the bathroom the guy shut the door in her face.

After he had stuck self adhesive triangle down, he presented my father with a bill for $975.00........it was not itemized. Just had down a $9.50 surcharge for gas. My father, appalled, paid the bill. He really had no choice, the work was done.

A week later he called them back and said the triangle placed in front of the shower( which was 2 feet by 2 feet by 2 feet was leeking water, could they please fix it. They sent someone over to remove it, he said he would be back, took the triangle and never returned.............no refund, no explainatiion, and this was 3 weeks agao, and they will not answer his phone calls.

I wouldn't exactly call them economical; however, they did come out and fix my bathroom tub drain the same day.

We phoned on a Friday night to have someone come on Saturday from 11 AM to 1 PM for an urgent job (we had to turn off the water to the house and were without any water overnight). The woman who answered was courteous, handling my wife (who was a bit grumpy without any water) very nicely.
They phoned us at 9:45 on Saturday morning to say the guy was near. Thomas was great, did the job promptly and thoroughly. They are not cheap, as I would imaging that no plumbing job is on an emergency basis.
We had phoned many of the ads in the ""yellow pages"" book (remember them?), and nearly all were ""disconnected."" I was a little reluctant to call the ad that was an actual sticker on the front of the yellow pages book. It turned out to be Economy Plumbing. Their phone number on the receipt is 650-697-5100 (we are in Belmont).
So, we were as satisfied with the job as we would want to be. I offered to put in a word on Yelp not even knowing about the other bad reviews.
I would ask for Thomas if you call. - Mike

Thomas came out to unclog one of my drains yesterday and he was very friendly and helpful. I recieved a call when he was on his way. He gave me a very good price and uncloged my drain quickly.

Clogged laundry drain line, took them 6 minutes or less to clear the line, $200 poorer now. Nice guy the worker, but at $200 for 6 minutes of work seems kind of steep. Plus, I had to clean up the puddle mess that he left behind, which he could've taken care of before he left. Will I use them again......maybe. Hate to think what others would charge for the same work if these guys called themselves ""Economy""..

We were quoted a window of time of 11-12. They have a 48 dollar special online which we mentioned on the phone. Also, on Yelp they have a 52 dollar special. Also they said they would do a free estimate....

No one showed up after 12 so we called. They said they would call us back with an update, never did, so we called them again, they said 15 more minutes.

When the plumber showed up he said it was 48 just to show up (what happened to the free estimate?) and 150 to fix the toilet (what happened to that promotion deal?)! We explained that we had mentioned special website price but he said no: 150 and the 48 show up fee.

The man was also incredibly rude. TERRIBLE. AVOID.

I called Economy Plumbing to get a clogged drain fixed. The plumber was fast and efficient and got things done quickly! He was friendly and definitely knew what he was doing. I would recommend them in a heart beat. Great service!!

WAY TOO EXPENSIVE! The Economy Plumbing Glen Park - Excelsior - West Portal office sent a plumber to fix my leaky drain and he quoted me $1,400.00! I called In & Out Plumbing (the next ad in the Yellow Pages) and their plumber fixed it for $500.00. To Economy's credit, they did offer to re-negotiate for $700.00 but come on now....$1,400.00??? The greed has to stop.
