We called them to clear a drain from probably roots. He refused to use the cutter, saying it might get stuck. Instead he used some jet blaster that essentially just blew the dirt off the roots. It worked for a few weeks. For that he wanted 695. We negotiated to 450. So a month or so later same thing. Thats what happens if you dont cut the roots out. The guy wanted another 695. After we asked him to leave the property i called another guy that came out and used his cutter for 250 and that included putting a camera in the pipe to show me the issue ans solution. These guys are the type of business that tries to get all your money the first time, instead of trying to be your lifetime plumber. Pretty sorry business model.

We had someone come out to fix a clogged garbage disposal. They guy came out and fixed the drain clog and in the process cracked the garbage disposal causing a leak. The disposal wasn't leaking before so it couldn't have been there. He refused to do anything about it, but charge us an additional $379 to replace it. This is in addition to the over $200 that he already charged for fixing the leak. What kind of a company causes issues like this and doesn't take responsibility? We had someone else come out and replace it for cheaper - I would recommend staying away.

The other day I called Economy Plumbing Sewer & Drain because suddenly overflowed into our driveway. It was a Sunday evening and I was desperate so I looked at the first page of the Yellow Page and there was Economy Plumbing Sewer & Drain. They came, checked, and said that the water was blocked where the house trap was. The plumber that helped us said that the house trap was clogged and was under the concrete of the driveway, so he instantly gave us a contract for fixing the house trap for $3200. He said that he would come the following day to fix it.

The following day, Monday, the same plumber came and found out that our house trap isn't in our driveway; it turned out to be in our backyard. He said that we needed to drill a hole 10 feet deep and needed a special permit. Afterwards when he dug out the hole, it turned out to be only 4 feet. He changed the house trap to a new one, and afterwards he ""finished"" the job within half a day. He then said that 20 feet in front of the house trap leading from my house was a tree root and wanted us to build a new pipe for another $5000; i didn't agree.

A few days later, after he took away the garbage, he claimed that 2 feet on the other side of the house trap (the side that leads to the public sewer) was another tree root. I didn't even bother to agree and ask for the pricing anymore.

What in the world is the problem with my sewer system? How much money would I have to spend on this sewer? Can I even trust the ever-changing judgement of this company? At first he only said that we only needed to fix the house trap, so I didn't go and find another company. All of a sudden various problems appear. He didn't even get rid of any roots! I STILL have problems with my pipe! Why should I even spend this $3200 on something that he didn't fix? It's like trying to take advantage of me! I spent $3200 without getting anything done! It's ridiculous!

Crooks....called in at 7AM and was told they would be between 1-2 hrs even though they have a 45 minute ""guarantee."" Called again at 2:30PM as they no showed. They said they would be out within an hr this time and apologized saying they got busy. When they showed up they quoted us $795 saying we needed a power flush and all the drains were clogged. We said no as we then needed a 2nd opinion. He then ""re-quoted us down to $ 600 and then down to $300. When we called In and Out Plumbers it was only a minor blockage. BEWARE!

Not really efficient.
I had to call them four times and they did not fix the problem. I give up.
I put 1 star but if I could put none, I'd do it !

My neighbor had to have her sewer line replaced, and Henry from Economy Plumbing was in the front discussing the situation. We had to have our sewer line replaced about 2 years ago also. So, I had enough knowledge and I could see the Henry was being straight up and honest with her situation. I saw the work they did as well, and it looked perfect and there was so little impact of the surroundings, and if you've ever had a sewer line replaced, you'll know it is a messy job !
So, I made an appointment with him to replace the plumbing from the main water line in the downstairs kitchen . It was a very challenging because the plumbing dated way back, the house was built in 1905. Henry installed a new drain line for the hot and cold , and did a hydrojet of the lines. He found more problems, but it didnt faze him, he gave me better solutions and fixed it in no time. He was very pleasant and nice man, that made the experience even more commendable. He is a walking encyclopedia of all the laws and solutions.
Having been a home homer for over 30 years , we've had our experience with plumbers and Henry and Economy Plumbing has been the best company ! I can see from older reviews, with the last one in 2012, and I feel confident that they have turned their operations around for the better.
I wouldn't hesitate to reccomend Economy Plumbing.

I had Thomas from Economy Plumbing Sewer & Drain come over on 6/19/13 to clear my stuck toilet. He spent 10 minutes talking to me and spent less than 10 minutes to clear the stuck toilet and had the audacity to charge me $169!! This is outrageous. Other plumbers for the same service would have charged me $40. Please avoid!

Economy is probably not the word. I have used them twice, both times to clear drains---the first an outdoor patio drain during a rainstorm last winter and the second today, a shower drain into which I have poured probably a dozen bottles of every drain cleaner on Orchard Supply's shelf. Both times, they were prompt, courteous and efficient and did the job satisfactorily. The plumber today made rather a mess, but cleaned it all up before he left. It didn't take him very long, using his electric snake, but I have probably paid half his fee to Orchard for chemicals that didn't work. Unlike some of the other posters here, I shall use them again, if the need arises. BTW, they give a 30-day guarantee on their work, which I have not had to use.

They did a great job on my backed up main sewer line. They dealt with the city and organizing permits as well as letting me know of my rights in San Carlos as far as what the city is responsible for. As an added bonus the guys did some extra work for me for FREE.. I will have them back again!

I had a main pipe back up and my girl friend told me about economy plumbing that they have free estimate so i called and talked to a lady name kay who was really nice she said someone will be out in an hour a sure enough someone was here. henry did a great job the price was fair he cleaned up after him self and everything Im very happy with economy plumbing and i will refer them to all my friends and family and i will be calling them again if i have any problems..
