Economy Plumbing Services
Company Overview
Economy Plumbing Services is the leading plumbing repair provider in the Austin area, delivering high-quality and long-lasting solutions for both home and business plumbing issues. We stand by completing the job correctly on the first attempt. Numerous plumbers out there merely provide short-term solutions to your issues and depart. We are not that type of company. We discover the root of the problem and fix it, conserving you both time and money.
Economy Plumbing Services was established with the goal of providing exceptional service at a fair price. We are a certified, covered, family-operated business. Economy Plumbing Services exists today because we recognized a demand in the Austin plumbing market for dedicated, honest plumbing services.
We have all heard the bad stories about hiring the well-known companies and the fly-by-night 'handymen'. Avoid adding your story to that list: reach out to Economy Plumbing today.
Sean spent time as a service technician for a relatively notable company in the Austin area before seizing the chance to launch his own plumbing business. Economy Plumbing Services was born from a desire to properly diagnose and resolve the plumbing challenges faced by Austinites. Our top goal is to fix the plumbing issue accurately on the first try, at the most affordable price possible.
Sean's main role in the business today is problem-solving: he possesses a distinct sense of curiosity. He is eager to understand what is causing the issue, and he is determined to see it fixed. He also is pleased to see the customer smile when their plumbing issue has been fixed.

No problem with service they were on time and did good job. My issue was the price of the service , they charge $995 to install a water heater ( I had the heater) it took around 3.5 hours due to the fact they were not informed they were installing heater and go get a pan etc. I thought the charge would be by the hour since this is how I pay plumber in past. Based on that I thought the max charge should have been $500 . I failed to get quote before the work began and they never informed me that it was special price for heater and not by the hour. I called and told them my concern but no giving on their part. I believe Economy should be removed from their name. Thanks BH

Schedule the same day as the service and the job was completed efficiently and completely without any issues.
I'd use them again if/when I have a plumbing issue to resolve asap.

I have used Sean maybe 8 times because we have an old house that has lots of plumbing oddities. I have been very happy with him each time. Most recently, he helped with a bigger project and I insisted the GC use Sean because of his consistent quality and knowledge of my house. Sean squeezed me in to get this done. My GC reported back to me that he typically has a very had time communicating with plumbers but that Sean was very prompt and responsive to him. I will use him more as we continue to renovate this house (and have little problems along the way).

There minimum price for installation of a faucet is $179. So I ended up saving 61 dollars. I thought the price was kind of high, but I guess that is the price you pay for a Master Plumber.
He was prompt and professional. I called and setup an appointment and they were there with in 5 min of the appointed time.
He cleaned up afterwards and he was there till the job was completed. It did take him longer than I believe he expected. He and his helper worked the whole time he was there. I thought this was going to be a one man job, but with the trouble they had, I was glad there were two people there. The price might also be a reflection of the amount of people it took to get the job done. I have personally done this kind of work before and I know it can be a pain. He did test the faucet, there were no leaks and he does guarantee his work.
I paid and he emailed a receipt right afterwards. This is the first time I have used him and it was a simple job. If he is as good at the rest of his craft, I would at the very least get a quote from him for any future work.

Sean is one unprofessional business manager. I would NEVER tolerate his way with paying customers. He was very demeaning to me and basically called me an idiot. I will NEVER use them again and will make sure to tell everyone else to not use them. I have never received worse customer service in my life! Don't use them!

Bought an Angie's list coupon for some work just like I had done previously---changing out a tub faucet. Was around $100 last time, and another quote I got this month from another licensed plumber was $150, so I figured, $39 for the coupon and maybe they would charge me another $50, so total $89, around what it was a couple years ago, and $50 less than my other quote, . The quote Economy Plumbing gave me was $579! Really taken aback at their prices. They did show up on time. From the reviews I have since read, it sounds like price is a real issue with them. I read that one person paid $418 to have a disposer installed! Fortunately, my former plumber agreed to do the job.

Sean of Economy Plumbing is a true professional. He and his crew were prompt, efficient, did great work and cleaned up as if they were never here! We have finally found a plumber so great that we put his name and number in our phone contacts for future use. He and his crew replaced our water heater and replaced one toilet. Both of those items were taken out of the house without a drop being spilled on our carpet. He then repaired one other toilet so that it no longer runs night and day. They also fixed a leaky bathroom sink and I now have hot water again on my side of the bathroom. Sean, the owner, is also just plain nice! We also felt comfortable with his crew (Billy and Brad). All in all, this is a great company. Thank you Sean!

I've used Economy Plumbing for a few things, and they have been consistently on time (early most of the time), pleasant, professional and stay with it until the job is done. I want to give thanks to Roger, who did a great job in draining my kitchen sink. He never lost his cool, and focused on diagnosing and resolving the problem. The price charged was fair, and he was up front with what further work would cost should that be needed. Fortunately, it was not!
I also like the online scheduling function.

Back when I used to grade papers as a teacher I'd give out 100% if you nailed it. As in... you knew all the material I asked about.
Now, I'll give you 5 stars if there is nothing I think you could improve about your service.
Economy Plumbing gets 5 stars.
Here's why:
They have a appointment setting service that answers the phone and coordinates appointments.
They are electronic: emailed appointment confirmation, email estimates, email receipts and invoices.
The staff on the phone is polite and efficient.
The staff (Roger) that did my estimate and work was great.
ESTIMATE REVIEW: On time, great at explaining my options. Provided estimates for the different options I could choose. (Use their toilet, use a toilet I picked out, have the toilet re-built) . No pressure trying to get me to pick on or the other. I also asked about some possible leak in the tub area. Roger gave me some great common sense advice and said I likely don't even have a problem to worry about. A less honest guy would've tried to convince me to tear my walls open. I'm happy with the work he did do as well as the work he said wasn't needed.
WORK COMPLETION:
Roger just left, I have 2 toilets installed. He had given me some suggestions on the types I should look for and where I could do it myself if I wanted. Toilets are installed and all is well. Not only did they take the old ones, but they took all the box debris as well. Oh... and they left the work area clean. Bonus. And their goal of no more running toilet? Complete. The cranky old toilet that couldn't be bothered to flush is no longer of this earth. Bye bye! Perhaps more importantly ... now I get to see a lower water bill. Yes! :)
Will I call them again when I need them? Yup. 5 stars.

I spoke with Sean, today, after reading through a few reviews on Angie's List. To be honest, the work we had to do was _incredibly_ simple. We bought a new house and all we needed was to have the pipes under our kitchen sink realigned for the new sink we had installed. My question for Sean was easy-- would realigning the pipes under our sink fit within the purview of their $39 for $100 services (offered on both Angie's List and Yelp).
Immediately, Sean's tenor grew icy and confrontational. He explained Economy Plumbing's Services didn't even _start_ before $119/hr (so where does the $100 come from in the deal??), and said, point blank, that the $39 for $100 coupon wouldn't work. I was confused. I'd read the list of services they had under the deal (on Angie's List, you'll notice it's not posted here on Yelp) prior to calling and it sounded like it _completely_ fell within the scope of what he offered.
I told him that I found his explanation strange and pointed to the wording in the ad. Sean's response was, frankly, jaw-dropping. He said, and I quote, "What you have to understand is that this is marketing." He paused, obviously waiting for me to say something, but I was stunned. Sean soldiered on. "A lot of times people think services are listed there that really aren't."
I'm a long time Yelp & Angie's List user. I have to say that this is my first experience contacting someone who has so blatantly had no interest in honoring their coupon. It wasn't just a situation where Sean wanted to try to make something work, no. Even in similar situations, usually, you'll meet people who are glad for the business, and who'll try to work with you. This was NOT the case.
While these marketing tactics might dupe a few customers through the door, Sean's lack of professionalism, his adversarial tone, and his inability to honor his offers get him a giant F from me.
