Echo Plumbing installed our tankless water heater eight years ago. They then failed to provide yearly maintenance until it failed and we had to buy a new one. $7000.

We are new to the Soquel area and had a water emergency which we weren't sure what the cause was. We called our insurance company and before we could make a claim they said we needed to find the cause and fix the water plumbing issue. This was early morning in mid December. I frantically looked online and found a few plumbers. Went down the list and the first two were calling centers (it was before 8am) and not helpful. Then by luck I called Echo Plumbing. It told them where I was and what had happened and that I needed someone immediately to come and figure out the problem. They were super responsive to my problem and said they would come over. Within 30 min of the phone call they were at my house and found the leak. The fixed the pipe and were out of there within the hour. Felt like a neighbor helping out a friend, well at least a neighbor that is a good plumber. Thank you Echo Plumbing!

Impossible to reach, hot tempered. Did part of the job well did part of the job very poorly. Didn't finish the job properly leaving me considerable work to do.

A smart plumber came onsite and did a good job the first 2 days. There was then a delay of over a week for them to finish the job. When this plumber returned, he did a completely half-wit I-just-want-to-get-out-of-here job and when asked to do it correctly became very, very loud and aggressive. I talked to the management about the job not being complete and this guy's attitude and they apologized explaining exactly what I saw: pretty talented plumber but had attitude issues. They gave me a small discount. I was required to finish the job on my own.

Incidentally, when the water was turned back on in the house the new plumbing the ""smart plumber"" installed started leaking at one of the joints. No big deal I thought - fix it and move on. Man was he p.o.'d. A loud stream of profanities ensued.

Throughout this project, when I had questions of the head guy at Echo he was a royal pain to reach. 4 out of 5 times I called him throughout this job he didn't return my call within 24 hours. Once I waited a week to hear back.

The cost to do this job was less than other plumbers I talked to. There were high-quality aspects to the work they did in the first 2 days so I cannot in good conscience rate them 1 star. I was very tempted to do so given the number of headaches, delays, and hostility in working with these folks.
