Horrible service. RUN FROM THIS COMPANY. Major problems with my RUUD air-conditioner. After purchasing and renewing my contract after over six years with this company they will do nothing for me. I am getting a new TRANE air-conditioner. ECM will not give me an allowance for my contract they are nasty and I want everybody to know DO NOT go with this company!!!! I just threw out money for a contract. They offered me upon renewal for my new air-conditioner. I have a newsflash , I have a 10 year warranty with the company I'm going with I don't need ECM.

CALL A PRIVATE Licensed and Experienced Appliance person! Been paying ECM for years! Contract states they will REPLACE if they can't fix. Well, they've been called numerous times for a Dishwasher they say they fix but it leaks as soon as they leave. Call them back same day but they are busy and can't come back (to see the leak they supposedly fixed). Read the list below for proof! They can't say it's old because they accepted all my appliances when I contracted with them; giving them all the model/serial numbers! Same with my AC unit; guys come out and say they add Freon; other workers say there's no way Freon was added; they never do that no more"""". (So did they or not?) Most of them make excuses why they can't go up on the roof to add Freon. Also was told the entire unit would be changed due to the law for not using Freon. Paid for that but apparently they never changed the Freon part thus the reason the techs kept telling me I need to pay for a new part. I asked them to take pictures and document that so I can get my money back from the company who not only wrote it down but told us over the phone it would be done so we don't have to change it in the future. They say I have a slow leak but won't replace it per contract nor will they """"fix it"""". Why are you writing on the log """"slow leak"""" and not fixing it? The manager says """"Well, you should have said something years ago. Hello, I did, listen to all your recordings that you record. When I wanted to record the conversation, they hung up. If they were honest they would fix it when the first person sees it; not wait and keep lying to me then want me to buy new parts. One worker walked inside and before he looked, checked, or assessed he said """"I know what your problem is: you need a new motor. Really document that so I can sue your company for putting a used one in because it was just replaced. (Egg on face) Then he changed to """"You don't have insulation in your attic. You have too much moisture in your house"""". Funny, once he took a can of Freon up on the roof my air was super cold! Or if it doesn't use Freon because of the new law he must have fixed something because my air was super cold when he was done. He basically called me a liar saying I don't have access to my attic so I couldn't have possibly put new insulation in. Can't trust this company!!! These are the findings written on the work order exactly as spelled out. 1. Needs New Motor and Pump unit: Order Part. 2. Unjam Dishwasher Motor 3. Unjammed Moter; cleared out soap buildup; changed watervalve; tested ok. (Leaked as soon as they left; and after the first guy """"cleaned out all the soap; should be good now"""", no more soap was used so how can you say it's a soap build up? Wouldn't that require more soap? It wasn't used again because it still leaked!!! 4. Replace motor ump 5. Gene cleaned out vinegar/vegetable oil (I asked what is that you are using? He says """"use pods"""" . He wrote lot of soap, (I never saw any soap! ), Clnd D/W; run through cycle it test ok. (yes because it was running and making noise but after you left it leaked and I had to turn it off! No one would come back and yes I have to go to work everyday!! All other techs said """"NEVER use pods on an old machine; only new machines! Which is it? Always different from tech to tech! Who trains these people? Are they really licensed or do they just have basic skills? 6. Dishwasher tilted adjust front and back and secure legs. Re rought drain hose 7. Run tested machine found it over suds on midwash tested no mechanicol leaks water tested. (You should have stayed for entire cycle, it did leak all over my new tile floor!) Also, unless these techs are putting soap in I never put soap in since they said it had too much! I wash by hand because each time you leave it leaks so I can't use it thus I'm not putting soap in it! Duh! I only use it as a drain and clean the water off the door before I shut it. 8. No trouble found. Advised customer to use cascade complete. And don't use jet dry. (Why is there a jet dry compartment?) NEWSFLASH! It leaked after you left. They looked at it while fixing other items; but never documented so they worked on this at least 11 times! I have pictures and will have a witness next time anyone comes out to fix anything! They obviously rip off clients especially women!! And to the condescending manager; yes I did call back and report all that happened but you NEVER CARED ENOUGH!! Lots of 1/5 ratings; doesn't look good for them. I want to know how much training and level of licensing these techs have and why they refuse replacements. Is it because they prey on elderly and know they will break down and buy another one? Don't waste your money on this company; use the money to hire a professional for each specific item.

Do not use!!!! ECM was out to diagnose a loud grinding noise in our washing machine 2 weeks ago. The technician was unable to duplicate the problem then but assured us that if it happened again to call. It did. I called and explained the problem had reoccurred and that we would like to have it repaired. I was told by the rude customer care employee that there would be an additional 90.00 charge to repair the original problem because they could not find a problem the first time. I asked her to check with her manager and she informed me thst that this was the final decision. I asked for the owners name to contact him and she told me that the decision would not change. This is quite a racket they have. Don't diagnosevacoroblem and then charge again when it reoccurs.

Wow, what a bummer. I had a great experience with ECM a few months ago when they replaced my A/C. So I called them to give me a quote to replace my LPG water heater. They came out on time and gave me an quote to replace the heater. When I called the office to see if I could apply the $100 coupon on their Web-Site they told me no because the quote was wrong. They said the quote did not include a second man and the quote was for a different type water heater. I told them that wasn't my problem, I have written quote to replace my water heater and there is a valid coupon on the web site for $100 off the replacement of a water heater. They told me they couldn't help me anymore on the price. Unbelievable, for a lousy valid $100 coupon they just lost a previously satisfied customer and got a bad review on YELP. I guess their plumbing department is not as professional as their A/C dept. By the way, I got a better quote with quicker service from another plumbing company. Go Figure!

First experience with ECM and the last. They sent me a mailer with an introductory price for an a/c tune-up. Mailer said it was a """"precision diagnostic 21 pt tune-up"""" Scheduled time 2-6 pm. Came at 7:45. (they called at 4 to say he was running late) I called at 7pm and they said """"any minute"""" Duration of """"21 pt svc"""" call was about 15 mins. reason was , tech did only 6 things out of 21 and when I asked him about the rest he said """"we don't do that"""" (tech was really nice he's wasn't the problem although the tech could have told me the special didn't apply to my unit before he did the work.) I signed the exit invoice and paid (my mistake). Next day I called and the cust rep told me the flyer I received didn't apply to my a/c. and I should have known the flyer didn't apply to my a/c.... really ? It's a come on and really false advertising. Could tell rep was used to complaint calls. It's a Sr citizen community and they really took advantage. FTC is next. Think they were smart enough to ask me if I knew what kind of a/c I had ? ...nope. They got the check first before they told me the flyer didn't apply. Beware

I was very disappointed with East Coast Mechanical (ECM). I had a Groupon for an a/c tune-up. When I called to make the appointment, I was given a window of 1 - 6pm. I asked if the technician could call me prior to his arrival and was told that he would call 1/2 hour before. I did not receive a call until the technician was at my house. I told him that I would be home in 10 to 20 minutes. He said that he didn't think he could wait that long, but then after acknowledging no call was made 30 minutes prior to arrival he decided to stay for the appointment. When the technician was done, I was told that my system could break down at any time and he suggested I have a Lennix system installed before the summer heat for $7000 or get a reme halo installed in the ductwork for about $1000 to prevent more rust from forming and to clean the air. He said that he RAN MY CREDIT and that I qualify for a home equity loan for $63 per month to the new system installed. I WAS NEVER ASKED AND NEVER AUTHORIZED A CREDIT CHECK. I had another a/c company that I previously dealt with come to give me another opinion. He told me that the drain was clogged (I would have expected the ECM tech to drain it as part of a tune-up), the reme halo was a waste of $1000 and I probably have 2-3 years before I have to replace the whole system. He also said that I could get a new system for about $4200. DO NOT USE

ECM replaces 4 out of my 5 AC zones both inside and outside and they did a repair on the 5th zone which needed a new coil. They did a great job! We recommend them for your AC needs.

This company is nothing but a scam. Called them yesterday as my water heater was gushing water. Refused to come for several hours stating the are not emergency services. Called a plumber to come to turn off water as my husband is disabled and I didn't know how. Tremendous amount of damage inside house. ECM technician said I would get a replacement water heater and only had to pay for a permit. Today they called and said we weren't covered as plumber moved the water heater to shut off water. DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT with ECM!
