Let's just say that Eddie saved the day despite HMS Warranty's best efforts to ruin it. I had a claim placed with HMS on June 25, 2018 to service my water heater and they sent the WORST contractor ever, who not only mocked me, but also left a valve open on the unit when he left, resulting in a flood of my apartment.

After days of arguing with them, I requested another opinion from a different contractor, and they gave me several options. Almost all were 1-2 stars at best, and then there was Eddie. He had over 23 5-star reviews, and it's no wonder why.

He's professional, thorough, and goes above and beyond to help his clients, even if HMS is trying to slow the process down. He wrote a report to them on July 10, but didn't approve the unit replacement price until the 24th. Luckily, he made an effort to pick that unit up same day in VA and drive all the way back to DC to replace it. Above and beyond.

I appreciate his service and will go straight to him in the future. I'm saying adios to HMS.

As the son of an HVAC contractor who grew up doing repair and maintenance work each summer, I must say that Eddie Simmons is exactly the kind of contractor you want to work on your home - he's thorough and thoughtful, and explains your situation, his recommendations, and alternatives so that you know a) He knows what he's talking about and b) What your options are. He was very reasonably priced, friendly, professional, timely, and efficient, and I will be recommending him to anyone I know in need of a plumber. Any problems I have in the future, I will be calling him, because I trust and know he can fix it.

Allow me to elaborate:

My wife and I had just purchased our first home in June, and within one month, the 15 year old water heater stopped working. I knew it was a possibility when we bought the place, given the age of the unit, but it was still pretty annoying. When it happened though, my wife was out of town, and I had been working 12 hour days in DC, and so it was going to be difficult to schedule someone to come look at it.

I put in an information request on Yelp, actually to a different plumber, but added E & S and 8 others because I could. In my message, I explained that my pilot light would not light, and suspected there might be a problem with a gas valve. Nearly all 10 contractors got back go me pretty quickly - some said they couldn't help, some quoted a price without explanation for the suspected repair, several said to just change the unit, but Eddie actually explained things to me. He said that if it was a gas valve in the unit, given the age we'd have to get a replacement part from the manufacturer because nobody carries it anymore. If the manufacturer had it, they'd have to ship it in from out of state, which would mean waiting an extra 2 days for hot water. Given the typical 12 year lifespan of a unit, they'd recommend I replace it anyway, but the choice was ultimately up to me. He quoted me a reasonable price for a Ruud replacement and said if I could get home by 6:15 he could install it that very day. I asked a few follow-up questions - ""does he offer a warranty"", etc - and he replied quickly each time (2 year warranty for all of his work). Our whole conversation gave me great confidence in his abilities, and I chose him over everyone else.

That evening, he showed up right on time and spent the next 2-3 hours changing out the water heater and installing a new expansion tank. He made sure to stay around a few minutes extra to make sure there were no problems with the unit after it fired up, and only left after he was confident everything was in good order. He cleaned up all of his work and hauled my old tank away. We shook hands, I thanked him for his great work, and he headed home while I went to take a nice hot shower.

If you are looking for honesty, reasonable pricing, and great work then look no further! E and S Plumbing is the best. In one bathroom I had a clogged bathtub and the second bathroom a shower with very low pressure and lost of hot water. Mr. Eddie fixed both problems in no time! I am very curious thank goodness he is patient as Mr. Eddie answered all my questions. He will return your call fast and schedule a date and time in a reasonable amount of time. My gas powered water heater broke Sunday night, 6/17/18. Eddion sent me the most reasonable quote to install a new water heater i can afford and find Monday morning (6/18/18) before 8 am. After getting additional quotes and finding out no availability to replace my water heater i went with Eddion quote. He arrived before 1030 a.m. the water heater arrived 30 minutes later and Eddion was done before 1245pm. Two weeks later no problems. Eddion was very honest and knowledgeable. Eddion even showed me how to do preventive maintenance on my new water heater. My family was surprised how quickly i got my water heater replaced that my relatives asked for his contact information. I normally do not do reviews but i finally found my plumber that I can trust. I will be hiring Eddion to do additional plumbing work once i recover from replacing my water heater.

Scheduled an appointment with the company to fix my garbage disposal and waited for the whole afternoon at home for nothing. Made several phone calls but only one went through. He told me that he would call back in 5 min and stop by soon. But no more call is returned and no person showed up. Not sure about the quality of their service. But their treatment of customer is clearly one of the worst. They should at least tell me that they won't be able to make it today. Highly not recommended!
