Freeman Winslow, the current owner and son of the founder, started working here after college in 1988 and assumed ownership around ten years back.

Terrible! Had plumbing for an outdoor shower installed. First visit the plumber advised he would need to use Pex piping but didn't have any on the truck (why would a plumber not carry pex?). Next available appointment was a week later. A different guy arrived and installed copper plumbing, and not pex. Was billed for 5 hours labor when they only worked 4. Communication from Winslow stopped when I kept questioning why I was charged 5 hours when they were here for 4. This run around resulted in them losing a $12K generator order for our property. Will never use them again.

I will never use EF Winslow again. I was charged $200 for 1 hour of labor to install 3 Z-Wave thermostats that I provided as part of an ADT install. I was explicitly told by the installer they would work by power and the batteries would only be used as a backup. I took the batteries out and they did NOT work. I called EF Winslow and at first they told me I misunderstood the installer. The ADT installer agreed the electrician said the thermostats would work with power. EF Winslow wanted to charge me for another service call to come out and fix them. Claimed I needed another wire installed. Don't waste your money. A total rip off!

Very disappointing - my parents used Winslow for heating/ac needs for twenty years and were very happy. For me, they stood me up twice for standard maintenance visits. I'm not a Cape resident, so I had to move my schedule around both times to be there - the second time they gave me the wrong time (although a reminder card mailed the day before the scheduled appointment that arrived the day after had the time I was expecting them). They would not schedule a makeup time when it was convenient for me and twice that day did not return phone calls when they said they would. When I called and left a message on the answering service and the email list complaining, they never bothered to call back with an explanation or an apology. Clearly, they don't need my business. I'm switching to Murphy's from now on.

Very disappointed. Never before have I written a negative review, let alone filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. They fixed the original problem but the replaced warrantied part failed. Attempts at fixing it failed until one competent tech, Jeff, realized it was the warrantied part. Another tech came back later to swap out a part he mistakenly thought might have been the issue. He failed to connect a wire which led to a low heat problem. Winslow had said they would not be servicing us again so I called another company to fix it. They did for $199. I sent 2 emails to Winslow, nothing. I called and was told the owner was ""out of the office"". The message I left for him was never returned. They ignored me and I feel they should have been responsible for the charges incurred by their tech forgetting to connect that wire.

2 Bathroom remodel, Wife and I met with their designer, lead carpenter, plumber, electrician and really liked them. All down hill from there, never saw leads again until trouble with project. Designer seemed to be project manager and made a lot of fixture selections and decisions without asking our opinion. workers did not always properly take care of flooring in areas near work site, hence some damage and lots of extra clean-up. Some of the trades workers were good but most needed much more direction and supervision. I blame myself for not looking at the reviews before hiring this company, If I had I would not be writing this. With over 40 years of experience operating a quality commercial printing business in Orleans I feel very capable of making the above assessment of my experience with the E. F. Winslow Co. The finished product is acceptable but getting there was awful. I would not recommend this company.

Don't even. Their electrician left a live wire under my sink (after taking out a garbage disposal), and their plumber cracked my toilet and left a large puddle of water on the bathroom floor, which leaked through to the sub-flooring. They came out to replace my toilet, and must have installed a factory reject because it doesn't flush properly. They will never set foot in my house again, as I pay companies to REPAIR my house, not DAMAGE it. And I never never heard the words ""We apologize for the unacceptable work"" from any of their employees or the owner. Done.

the worst company you can you think of! workers don't show up on time, leave whenever they want(they came at 9 am and left unfinished because we weren't home. later they said they had to pick up their kids from school at 2 pm! you have to choose if you work or pick up your kids whenever you want), don't clean up after themselves(a worker took my rag I clean counter tops and started cleaning up the mess they made on the floor,they did not even have a broom!). Do not ever get them,you'll regret a big time!

Really screwed me. Came to repair my generator. Changed the oil and made a small repair, charged $350 and then told me that my machine was basically shot and needed to either pay about $2000 for repair (mostly labor) or buy a new machine for about $5000. When I tried to schedule a sales call to at least have them look at my. Machine and tell me what I needed, they said that they could come for a Sales call in about one month!!! (If I could do one specific day, otherwise more like six weeks). Aside from wanting me to wait for the honor of having them tell me what I need, review in line suggests that their repair guys estimate of pricing is about double what the online price is. No way

Never, ever will use them again for anything. We had a clogged drain on the second floor. An EF Winslow plumber came to clear the clog. Two days later, the ceiling on the first floor collapsed and fell into two rooms. Apparently, the plumber didn't clear the clog; he just pushed it further into the pipe, which eventually split open and leaked into the ceiling. It was a mess. This was during 4th of July week...the height of the summer season when guests are visiting. It took several weeks for EF Winslow to repair the ceilings, after multiple follow-up calls from us to remind them about the issue. They did eventually fix it., but there was never an apology from any of them. They used to be a good firm years ago, but it's likely they've grown too big and too greedy to remember what it takes to deliver quality service.

Here's my experience, had a problem with the A/C. My usual contractor couldn't be there for a week or 2, Winslow showed up the same day, great I thought. He called and said everything was working fine now, $200. 2 weeks later found out that the A/C had been running constantly, the house had ice on the pipes and it was freezing. Called them, they sent out a plumber, the same day, he shut off the A/C but couldn;'t fix the problem because he said he is a plumber and didn't know how. Third visit the person found out what the problem was and fixed it.
