Had a (non-emergency) issue -- a bathroom sink with gradually diminishing drainage -- which had been slowly worsening for weeks and called Dwyer to get it resolved. I called at 10:15a and they had a plumber at our place just over an hour later. Their plumber was friendly, professional, cleaned up after himself, and resolved our issue in minutes. This was our second time using Dwyer and both experiences have been first-rate. Pricing also has been better than competitors.

Wish I'd read the Yelp reviews instead of other sites before calling this service. Makes me wonder about those other review sites. Totally agree about the outrageous pricing and you're put in a tough situation once they are in your house, you took the day off from work, you need the repair, and have no time to weigh options. Their pricing model is a flat fee per service plus a $65 service fee. They charged me nearly $200 for a service that took at most 15 minutes and resulted in no appreciable improvement -- snaking my shower drain. Do not recommend -- definitely will not be using again.

Absolutely terrible. Part was supposed to take 3-5 days to arrive; after 8 days of waiting I contacted them, and they said our part had made it and they would install the following day. Come the following day I get a phone call, telling us that they could not fix our unit today because they had another clients part and not ours. THEY FORGOT TO ORDER OUR PART. EIGHT DAYS WAS NOT ENOUGH TO REMEMBER THAT THEY DIDNT ORDER IT, AND THEY HAD THE GUTS TO TELL US THAT WE COULD PLACE A RUSH ORDER NOW FOR 170 EXTRA BUCKS. UN-FREAKING-BELIEVABLE!!! So I have to pay extra for your mistake and poor customer follow up? My wife contacted them, all she got was a reply: we are too busy now, we will contact you later. NEVER REACHED OUT TO HER.
After complaining they got the piece the next day and came to install it and gave us a 100 dollar discount, it still cost us $1300.
In Summary, shop around, this once reputable company does not care about you overheating in your house with a toddler and pet for 9 days, and are overpriced. I guess they are too busy with other customer.

I used them for a rental property and they promised to call me before any work is done but guess what no call?!?!? After the work is done they call for payment and it's $500. Where is the heads up!!!! I'm really disappointed because I asked them to call before any work was done multiple times. For $500 I could have installed a new toilet. Come on your technicians need some common sense.

In good faith to the actual plumber that serviced our kitchen sink, I gave this review 2 stars instead of 1. I had a stuck retainer ring on a kitchen sink cartridge that had to be replaced. All parts were shipped and available prior to the start of the job under the manufacturers warranty, so this was a quick labor-only exercise that was described in full over the phone. Of course, the $69.95 assessment fee was mentioned and agreed to, as this is the normal part of the robbery process to get someone to ""assess"" what is already known.

Why the bad score? Count me in with all of the other reviews about the unfair pricing models. The bean counters that run this organization make the plumbers choose from a rip-off menu of tasks instead of simply billing by the hour in straightforward fashion. The company tacked on a full ""sink repair"" all-inclusive fee on top of the ill-gotten $69.95 show-up fee, despite there being two turns of a wrench for a job that lasted 30 minutes at most. The office manager offered to take a paltry $20 off the bill, but this was priced so unfairly from the starting point that I asked to escalate.

Now we get the owner, Dan. I explained that I've used his company several times before and never once pushed back on the bill, but this was a bridge too far. If not for his condescending and uncompromising attitude while holding firm on his unfair pricing practices, this would have easily been a 5 star review with a happy returning customer, but neither will be the case. Should have known better than to even bother with him having read previous reviews on his demeanor when pricing concerns are initiated.

Again, kudos to the plumber for his great work ethic and enduring such wonderful management day in and day out. This extra star is for you, good sir!

Our house was on the market and the prospective buyers wanted to have a plumber come to inspect the sewer pipe. They sent in Kesterson who came in with a black and white camera with terrible resolution. The plumber kept saying how ""bad"" the pipe was as he was feeding the camera down. The buyers wanted us to replace the entire sewer line.

Instead we called Dwyer for a second opinion. They came with state of the art equipment...a color camera with high resolution as well as an experienced technician. Our pipe was in fact in great condition. They had us over a barrel and could have told us it was bad in order to sell us a new sewer system. Instead they were completely honest and issued a report saying the truth! Highly recommend their team.

Poor communication practices and will charge you for work without telling you the cost upfront.

We had Dwyer Plumbing come out because we had water coming through our recessed lighting in the kitchen from the bathroom upstairs.

We were told it would be a $69 service fee when I explained the issue on the phone (they knew it had to be a leak issue, I mean water was coming from my ceiling from the bathroom into the kitchen). The 2 techs came out and went straight to the bathroom and started looking for the leak. When after 10 minutes they identified that it was a caulking issue with the shower handle, the tech told us it would be $180. I was confused because I had been quoted $69 on the phone and we hadn't approved any other work. Then the tech says, ""oh the leak search fee is $110."" (What was the service fee for then?) I was not happy to not be given the opportunity to turn down such a pricey fee. I assumed the service fee would include examining the situation and we would be informed of any additional charges for work before they completed them.

I called the office and requested to talk to the manager and have now left a message and still have not received a callback. If you have them come out, be sure that you make it clear that you are paying only $69 for them to come out and they need to inform you of any other fees BEFORE doing the work for them. I just didn't like not having the opportunity to turn down the charge for the ""leak search"". I would be very careful if you have them out as to ensure that they don't touch or look at anything until you verify the cost...I've never had a plumber come out and not make sure that I was o.k. with a cost before doing work or any additional inspection not covered by the ""service fee""--which they clearly need another name for at Dwyer because it's a ""walk in your door fee"" it appears. They were at my house for maybe 20-30 minutes and it cost us $180.

On Tuesday Home Depot delivered a gas range that couldn't be installed because the pipe needed to be moved. Their installer doesn't do that. I called Dwyer and was told they'd send somebody out Thursday. I had used Dwyer once before back in 2016 when a HOA annual plumbing inspection revealed a slight gas leak. They handled that for me.
They were supposed to be sending a licensed mechanical plumber. I was told it would cost me $69 just for the guy to show up and look. He shows up cuts a hole in my wall and then goes to shut off the master valve for the gas. He claimed the valve was faulty and he couldn't shut it all the way off. He spent a lot of time testing if my water heater was on or off in fact most of his time. He said I needed to get the valve fixed before he could do the job. In the interim my neighbor told me to call our HOA maintenance guys. The Dwyer guy insists he had to talk to him and begins to speak Spanish. He hangs up and announces he needs to talk to his boss and heads out into the hall so I can't hear. He announces he has to go. He doesn't say when or if he's coming back. He leaves my stove in the middle of my kitchen blocking my fridge. He comes back with a bill for $259 announcing when I get the valve fixed and the water heater replaced then he can do the gas pipe relocation. I said aren't you going to hook me up temporarily or at least push the stove back? He ignored me and wrote a lot of notes into his iPad I didn't get to read and I had to sign two places. The maintenance guy showed to to verify there were no leaks. I told him my tale of woe and how upset I was by the treatment. I asked what the Dwyer guy had said to him. He claimed he told the Dwyer guy that a licensed mechanical plumber can turn off gas without Washington Gas coming at the meter if the valve in the apartment was faulty. He took a photo and texted it to the plumber the HOA uses. ""All Plumbing Inc"" from Arlington VA came out next day. Their mechanic and his helper worked here about two hours and I guess we count the hour they were gone to buy a flange as additional. They had no trouble turning off the valve and doing the job. My range is flush with the wall. It was a perfect job. They were neat and wore booties etc. They changed me $600 but they had to rebuild the whole connection from the service line out. Dwyer sent me a generic text asking for feedback on how good they did. I texted them a photo of my range in the middle of my kitchen not connected. Told them I was dissatisfied. Who leaves a senior citizen with this abrupt departure and nothing but a hole in the wall? They never responded. They just don't care. Two thing that disgust me here. The lack of concern on their part for how their plumber left the job AND the fact they were the last ones who shut off that valve they claimed was faulty. And wanted me to pay for fixing that and also replacing my old water heater. The second plumber had no problem shutting off the valve. Beware of these people. They do not care about the customer.

We called Dwyer to address 2 leaking shower faucets and a slow flowing sink. They were there in a timely manner. They replaced 2 flat washers and replaced a sink aerator - a $5 part. The plumber was there about 45 minutes and was very competent. We received a bill for almost $500! He wasn't THAT competent!

We called the company and spoke to the owner who said this is what everyone charges for this fix. He would not reduce the fee to a normal reasonable charge. He has lost our family's business and our commercial business. This was the most expensive appointment he has had.

Sadly, Dwyer Plumbing appears to have lost its sense of shame. There are clearly better choices out there.

If I could give 0 stars I would! Where to start.....A few months ago our condensate line was leaking where the pipe meets the unit. Unfortunately we called Dwyer and had someone come out the next day. The man showed up, hooked a vacuum up to the hole for about 15 minutes, tossed a bunch of plumbers putty around the joint and called it a day. Do you think that works? Of course not! Called them again, he showed back up that day....did the same thing! Do you think it worked? Of course not! We called Dwyer TWICE after that to get someone else out to FIX the issue. They never sent anyone out. We were left with a $200 bill for NOTHING. I ended up fixing it myself for $20.

Lets fast forward to yesterday shall we? We woke up to no hot water. I went into the mechanical room to check it out and the error code was saying the well sensor was failing. Okay, so we unfortunately called Dwyer again and only because we were set up on a plan with them. Man shows up, tells me the entire assembly needs to be replaced and its going to be $220 an hour for labor and he wasn't sure about the cost of the part. They come back out to fix it the next day. It took him longer to call the office and write the ticket after the work was done than replacing the part. From the time he pulled up to the time he walked outside to fill out the ticket, it was less than 40 minutes. Wanna know how much they charged? $625!!!!! I looked the part up on Amazon, by the part number on the box he brought. Part cost $141. And thats the consumer cost. Dywer gets it at a lower cost. So if we do basic math 141+ 220+ 89 (Some other fee) += $450 You tell me where the extra $175 is coming from???? I called to talk to a manager and SHOCKER....no call back. These people are thieves, they rush, their technicians are sales people, not actual technicians. Do your homework and get other quotes. Dwyer is only out for you $$$$ not your trust or repeat business!
