I employed David to replace my Water Heater. He assured me he could handle the job, but it turned out to be a near deadly mistake.

He purchased a tank that was larger than the one I was previously using. He did not measure anything before purchasing the tank, and as a result, the factory draft diverter on top of the water heater did not provide enough room to properly pitch, so he simply did not install the factory draft diverter and instead, he crafted his own makeshift diverter. He did not consult with me during this process; he simply decided to do this on his own without even checking to see if this was something I wanted to do.

A few days after installation, I noticed a weird smell that would come from the water heater room everytime we showered or used the dishwasher. It smelled like smoke, so I called David. He said it was probably a dirty chimney causing the smell. I called a chimney company to come inspect and they said my chimney was perfect clean and wasn't dirty at all. David kept saying the diverter he made was perfectly fine, but when I consulted with 3 separate plumbers -- one of whom is a certified Master Plumber -- they each said that the makeshift diverter he used was not a proper solution for a water heater, and that Carbon Monoxide was most certainly leaking into our home and that it was an extremely dangerous and careless installation by David.

I called David to ask that he come back to fix the problem but he did everything he could to deny responsibility. He said that it would still pass inspection, and that everything was fine. Again, 3 separate plumbers all disagreed and they told me that this was extremely dangerous, so I had to turn off the Gas and let all the air out of my house for an entire day, and I kept my kids out of the house for an entire day to ensure their safety.

I tried calling and texting David repeatedly but he just stopped responding. I had to call in a new plumber to come and fix the problem, causing me to spend an additional $2,000 on top of what I already paid David.

David was careless (did not come ahead to measure to ensure the new heater would fit), he was lazy (when he realized the new tank wouldn't fit, he could have returned the tank for one that would fit but did not to so), he was not communicative (he did not tell me about his plans to make his own draft diverter), and he was reckless. I gave him so many opportunities to come back and fix the problem or at least provide a refund, but he simply did not respond at all.

Please do not use David for any of your HVAC tasks. Someone who is willing to endanger the lives of an entire family is not someone I would employ.

David is the legitimately the best HVAC service person on Long Island. He's thorough, knowledgeable, and works hard. He does a great job and is honest. We worked with him multiple times and he always tries to do the right thing for us. If you don't use him, good luck with someone else. Your loss.

David is a very cool guy. Just purchased a house and I knew nothing about central ac units. I called him after reading his reviews and I'm glad I did. He came out, explained everything in detail and charged a reasonable price. He took his time and really made an effort to teach me about the ac unit. He even looked at my furnace and identified an issue i wasn't aware of but could fix myself. I'll definitely be calling on him again! 5 stars for sure!

My Central Air stopped working last October. Earlier, in the spring of 2024 it went out and I called Universe. They got it working but working with them was horrible. So, this time I needed to find a company with integrity and the expertise to fix the system. After seeing great reviews for DWP HVAC I contacted them. David (the owner) came on the day and time we had scheduled. Even though my Lenox unit is 22 years old, Dave was able to repair the problem. But unlike Universe, Dave was extremely thorough. After getting the system to work again, he checked the refrigerant which was a bit low, added new refrigerant, used a special solution to clean the unit, rechecked the coolent level, went to the attic to check the overflow pan and the condensation drain. He then used pressurized nitrogen to blow out the condensation drain.
And after all that he asked for a gallon of water so he could ensure that the drain was clear. Finally, he had me check the vents to ensure that the unit was providing cool air. The experience was extremely impressive. This was so so different from my horrible experience with Universe. And all for a very fair price. What a pleasure. I highly recommend DWP-HAVC if you have an issue with your HVAC.

We were desperate and DWP HVAC saved us one freezing February day. We came on time on a Saturday and quickly got our heater working. He was a good deal for sure and value for the price. We needed them again when a little later this winter our hot water heater broke. He fixed this ordered parts and came back to service the heater. We have been good to go. While we hope we don't have to call DWP but any heat air problems we may encounter in the future , he's our guy!

It was 20 degrees outside and started snowing, then the heat would not come on. Our normal guy couldn't come till the next morning but the house was freezing. Thankfully David came out in the snow to help us. Super friendly, helpful, and responsive. A good price too for easing our anxiety.
