I do not recommend Dutton as they took advantage of my 80 year old parents, scaring them into entering a contract for an excessive amount of money for the work performed. They were given limited time to consider an estimate of $18K which would include work conducted that day and future work, but they would have to decide then and there. If they didn't commit right then, they would be responsible for the cost of work performed that day (which wasn't cheap) plus the $18K if they used Dutton. My 80 year old parents, thinking they would lose money if they didn't commit, agreed to the contact right then. The quality of work was poor including using the wrong type of concrete for the job, smearing concrete over bricks so they weren't visible, not leveling the concrete, poor placement of the drain, and not cleaning up their mess.

I had a really great experience with Dutton. So, Kevin is the person that I am used to dealing with and he is so nice. A while ago I used them to fix the hot water and they did. I also asked them to install the gas shut off and they did a great job. This time Kevin came to check the small leak we had under the kitchen sink, he said to try and seal it and if it doesn't work we can get heavy duty pipes that wouldn't shake as much when we turn on the disposal. The check up we not well and Kevin said there was no charge after spending so much time examining every bathroom as well.
They left and I felt great that they went to all this trouble and helped me out. I will continue to recommend them to my neighbors.

We recently called Dutton to fix a valve on the outside of the house that broke. Dan D. was our technician and he was amazing. He was so knowledgeable and instantly made my husband and I at ease. This was the first plumbing appointment I haven't felt like I wasn't being taken advantage of. He was quick and explained everything from start to finish. I will use them again and I highly recommend Dutton for any plumbing needs. Thank you Dan for all your hard work, I won't hesitate to call again!

I am disgusted with Dutton plumbing ! Yes they showed up then they tried to charge me $500 + to rooter my drain and change the wax seal on my toilet. Then when we said that was very expensive they asked me what I was willing to pay ? What would I counter off ? When I said $200. They said No. Then I had to pay a $39. Service fee. ( I did expect to pay that) and they didn't give me a receipt for that.... I ended up calling Ojai Valley rooter. They did an excellent job and they guaranteed their work. They charged me a 1/4 of what Dutton quoted me.

If I could give these guys ZERO stars I would. We had a simple rooter job turn into a $26,000 house, sewage, and water re-pipe job. We got a second opinion from Lloyd's Plumbing, and it turned out all we needed was a $150 rooter job. Dutton Plumbing are crooks.

I am a young, single mother and Dutton's technicians basically tried to rob me. A 5 or 6 inch piece of exposed PVC pipe between two connectors on my sprinkler valve broke. I called Dutton and they sent their technician Matt out with another tech (not sure why they sent TWO people when I told them it was literally just a piece of PVC that needed to be removed and replaced). If I knew how to deal with the blue PVC cement I would have fixed the damn thing myself. So Matt and tech 2 show up and tell me ""Oh, yeah that's an easy fix. We'll just have to dig around it a little bit and I'll charge you the exposed rate so it won't be as much for you."" Tech 2 is in the grass kicking a soccer ball around with my daughter. They're really laying it on thick getting my guard down. So... now it comes time for them to rig up the invoice and get my signature... $450!!! Are you kidding me?! At first, because I have no idea what I'm doing, I was going to agree to it. Thankfully my roommate got home in the nick of time and told them that we would get a second opinion. My father came by and fixed it in less than 10 minutes. Dutton was going to rob a young, single mother of $450 for a $5 piece of PVC, some PVC cement, and 7 minutes of labor. How could anyone be so heartless and money hungry.

My husband accidentally phoned Dutton Plumbing when he meant to call Donlon Plumbing (recommended by neighbors ) to repair our toilet. While he was in the bathroom with the plumber I read the Yelp reviews- thank goodness - and was able to give my husband the heads up. Just as the others here reported, the technician was friendly and seemed knowledgeable, and just as the other reviews stated he began to try to upsell. First it was about cleaning calcium buildup for $79 then replacing parts inside the toilet for $327 more, which he said would ""temporarily"" fix the toilet but that we needed a new toilet. Next he claimed it could be the problem was the water pressure to the house and then when my husband was not interested, he asked if he could call his manager. We have never been subjected to this type of practice from plumbers! We can't recommend them.

Dutton Plumbing was called to unclog a sink that was draining slowly. He ran the snake and unclogged the drain, but recommended I get a camera run down to check out the main line. An hour later, his manager came and together they did the camera inspection of the sewer line. They ran the camera throughout the house and showed me what he said were holes, roots, and leaks. His manager said I needed to replace all the lines under the house and part of the line in the street (which come to fine out is actually the city's responsibility). He quoted me $37,000 and wanted to start the same day. I was shocked by the price, and he acted like it was just another day in the plumbing business. I told him I did not have $37,000 and would not have it by the end of the week. They left and I told them I would call later. I decided to get a second opinion. Shane from Pipetech plumbing did the same camera inspection and found no holes, roots or leaks in the line. I watched both videos, and the video that Shane showed looked nothing like the video Dutton Plumbing showed me, leading me to believe the video that Dutton Plumbing showed me as they ran the camera through my house was in fact a bad pipe, but it was not my pipe, it was a recorded video of another pipe. In the end, I would not call recommend Dutton Plumbing for anything, it is fairly obvious they cannot be trusted. However I would recommend Shane from Pipetech. I have had him do other jobs, and he is always reliable, honest, and backs his work every time.

We had used Dutton Plumbing once in the past when we needed help with our RO system and were pleased with their customer service and quality of work. So, while having new flooring installed, and unexplained moisture in areas of the concrete were discovered, Dutton Plumbing was who we called. The flooring install had to stop mid-way until the source of the leak (if any) was determined. Understanding our issue, our technician, Juan Rendon arrived quickly and conducted a thorough investigation of our water lines and sewer system which didn't appear to be the source of the problem. To be certain, a second technician, Paul stopped by and double checked everything. Our issue did not appear to be plumbing related. Thank God! Did I mention this was happening around 6 pm at night?

Juan even called us the next day to follow-up after we had leak detection company come out, just to see if he could help. (It was determined the problem was caused by a leaky vinyl dual paned sliding door that had slowly seeped over many years and settled on several areas of the floor)

Juan and Paul were awesome and went above and beyond to provide excellent customer service!
