I had a major sewer issue and needed a quick fix. I called Dunn Rite and spoke to Doug. Doug immediately got to my house in an hour. Told him my issue and he brought out his plumbing snake and found a major back up. He did a great job of unplugging the sewer line, but unfortunately he was unable to clear the whole line. He found that the sewer line had collapsed. Instead of fixing the line, he said that we should get the city involved because of the location of the collapsed line.

Now Doug could have fixed the issue but it would have been a major job and would have cost me a lot of money. Dunn Rite would have had to break through concrete to fix. So instead of trying to sell me on the fix, he gave me the number to HB Public Works and wrote down instructions on what to inform them on the collapsed sewer line.

Thankfully, the City of HB found that the collapsed line was not my fault and fixed it for no costs.

I really appreciate Dunn Rite and Doug for pointing me in the right direction and not charging me for something that I would have paid for to fix the sewer line.

DUNN WRONG = UTTERLY HORRENDOUS

Sent by Home Warranty company. Given a 5 hr window and they were still 30 min late. Left heater in pieces because they did not have the necessary part. Said they would call the next day to schedule return visit. They never called and did not return my calls for 8 days and counting... I contacted Home Warranty company 3 times who also tried to get DUNN WRONG to respond. Still nothing. Finally got a different company to come fix only to find that DUNN WRONG had hard wired the thermostat to on position. So once the other company fixed the heater, we had to call them back again because it wouldn't turn off! STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS.

Yep...they do a song and dance and try to get you to pay 3 times the amount it should be. They are scammers...and predators. I hope they don't get the naïve ones such as elderly ect.

Wow... I am one of the lucky ones. 24 hours after signing a contract with Doug I cancelled after I read all the reviews. I researched and found out you have three days to rescind a contract. It took 3 weeks to get my $5,000 back and that was only after I got my lawyer involved. He had to pay me in installments. On two occasions he said he was on his way to pay me and never called or showed up. It was only after threatening him that my lawyer and were filing criminal charges did he pay up. Buyer be Ware of this one!,

This company is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. I would give them MINUS 10stars if that were possible here. First they show up on the wrong day for their appointment. When I call to let them know when they are supposed to be there they say OK and never show up or call. My wife had taken a day off work to be there and NO SHOW, NO CALL and when I attempted to call them guess what, no one answers the phone or ever returns the call. They were referred by my home warranty company AMERICAN HOME SHIELD who are in the same category when it comes to customer service.
DUNN RITE is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER even considering doing business with these DISHONEST & RUDE people.

Dunn-Rite was sent to us through a Home Warranty claim for a damaged furnace. They contacted me timely based upon when the home warranty company said they would; throughout my dealings they were responsive as far as keeping me apprised as to the timetable/progress of the work, and following up to any calls/inquiries I made. Within a week, my new furnace was installed, I might add through a small hatch leading down a ladder to the basement. I also had them install a new air conditioning unit, while they were at it, and they footed the difference in cost for an upgraded unit. Three weeks later, for some reason, my furnace would not turn on; they responded to the problem and worked their ""magic"" to get it going again, with no problems since. Sorry to read everyone else had a negative experience; maybe it just wasn't your alls' day. And remember -- everyone deserves a second chance! Work completed end of January 2013.

Negative Stars if it were possible.

I agree with all the 1 star review for Dunn Rite. My home warranty assigned this company for the work.

Almost 3 weeks later, repairs still not completed. Doug has made 2 trips out so far with maybe one more to go. One excuse after another. Left 5+ messages over a period of a week with no return calls.

Avoid this company if you can.

The bottom line is their work turned out to be efficient and their staff very courteous, but after reading other reviews, I was plenty nervous about using this company. But, since the company was assigned to me by my home insurance policy, I didn't have a choice. Before I signed anything, I sat down at my kitchen table and showed the Yelp ratings to the company owner, Doug. He then showed me the filtered review section which I didn't know about. Turns out the filtered reviews were much better. Doug assured me that I would be happy with the results (brand new AC and Heating system) and said that I should write a review either way.

My A/C died 3 months after I moved in, and, luckily within the warranty period of the 1-year insurance policy I purchased with the house. The A/C was the original 1974 model when the house was built. Since the A/C and heating system work together, to replace the A/C with the newer coolant (R410A) I had to upgrade the heating system as well. Alternatively, I could have replaced just the A/C, and kept the old heating system, but the A/C would have used an old coolant type that is being phased out. Since the insurance was covering the new A/C in either case, I went for the newer version of both.

The Dunn Rite employee, Justin, was very polite, showed up on time, and was later assisted by Doug. Justin swept up before leaving, and both thanked me for my business. I would have given them 5-stars, but after they left I noticed that they had gouged my hallway wall either getting the old furnace out or putting the new one in.

The home warranty company sent this company. I'll make a long story short and say it took three visits and over a week with no AC before they repaired the unit. I recently needed service again for an unrelated problem and specifically asked the home warranty company not to send Dunn Rite.
