I called Duke's Plumbing after finding him in yelp about six years ago when our reliable plumber retired. I told them I was looking for a family plumber, and that I was looking long-term. We used Duke's several times and he provided good and reliable service, even if he was always late showing up, blaming his girl. However, over the past year or so calls for service went unanswered and we had to get in touch with him via his private number. He blamed his receptionist for not giving him messages and he says he has health issues and I am sympathetic to that but the quality of his service has gotten terrible. Last time he was here he wrecked some antique hallway baseboard getting to the trouble door for our bathroom and then he demanded payment in full even though the job was not quite finished. I suggested half now and half on completion but he insisted on full payment because he 'had to pay his crew'. It was a Friday night Six months ago. He promised to return Saturday morning to finish the job. We are still waiting. Meanwhile we replaced what he wrecked. We are all done with Duke and we are again seeking a family plumber.

I couldn't have been happier with the service I got from Dukes plumbing. They were as nice as all heck and clean which was a biggie for me. They also were reasonable and knew what they were doing. Thanks for great service

Dukes plumbing did a big job for us on a three-story 120 year old row home renovation we were working on. They were ok, the price was competitive, and they got the job done in a timely manner, but they left a few bits and pieces unfinished when they left that we had to pay someone else to finish up. They replaced all of the old piping with pex, and did a nice job with that, but the main drain installation was not all new and still tied into the old drain in some places. Also they didn't install a gas line for our kitchen, even though we made it clear that we had a gas range coming and needed a line for it. Not sure why that didn't happen. Really the reason for four stars is because the entire gas line needed to be replaced which we didn't realize until the inspector got there, and which Dukes never mentioned,didn't add it to their quote, and didn't say anything about it, even though it very clearly needed to be replaced.

Called an set up an appointment for an estimate for a repair needed. Day of appointment no one called or showed up during given time frame. Never heard back from them. Do not recommend.

Duke's the man. I had a tough job, and he got it done for well under what I was quoted by a bigger company with less damage and repair. Highly recommend.

Duke's Plumbing is awesome. He is responsive, thoughful, and goes the exta mile. This is about tge third or fouth time I have used them. My hot water heater stopped working. He came right out and after much legwork to help me avoid having to pay for a brand new one was able to fix it. It turned out to be a minor fix. Thank you Duke and your team for helping me.

They came out and fixed my problem right away in the middle of a Saturday. Impressed me as knowledgeable (diagnosed problem and fixed right away) and respectful (wore boot covers without being asked to do so).

When I called them back over to fix a couple other lingering issues, they arrived as a team, delegated assignments, and finished quickly. (Spared me a vacation day at work!)

I have limited knowledge whether they cost more or less than others. For all the work they did, and the peace of mind it gave me, I feel I got my money's worth.

ps: One of the guys fixed my broken doorknob as a courtesy on the way out without telling me. Nice guys!
