With encouragement from loyal clients, Gutierrez and his wife, Margie, established their own company in 2009. Their goal was to have six trucks running within five years, develop a premium clientele, and deliver a complete range of products and 24/7 service. This is a very shady company. Duke even has his mobile phone set to ""Restricted"" so no one can reach him after they are abused by this substandard company. I was just called ""retarded"" over the phone by a lady at the company when I was trying to file a complaint. Be forewarned, stay clear!!! I wonder how many of the positive ratings from this company are phony, posted by family members or fictitious accounts.

get a second opinion from anyone before you replace any a/c or furnace. Or better deal with a company with 5 stars and Not these kind of warnings from customers.. I showed up at my gf house with our newborn child in mid July, And they said the a/c wasnt working. Dukes' had installed a furnace in 2019. The a/c was working at that time... the furnace is installed and the ac wasnt working in 2020 !!!...its summer 2021 and ive grown up doing hvac with my dad..... i was confused when they said they had ac then it was gone??? So i get up this morning check, they have a condensor outside.. ok... thats good... crawled in the attic they had installed the old coil back onto the furnace, that is good.. they had cut the copper pipes and taped them, nice that they taped them as this prevents dust and debris in pipes but thats problem right there, they cut the copper pipes from coil to condensor and they did not hook back up..
They didnt complete the first job they were paid to do properly, spent the whole year of 2020 in the heat, the few time they called duke and ask to fix the ac he said he would send a technician but never did...I called to make a complaint and they are sending someone out today which is a Saturday..
So id like to thank the 2 technician austin and charlie for getting it back working, why it took sooo long is concerning. And the fact when they did call a few times were left in the heat.. i am bumping it up to 2 stars for them taking ownership today and addressing the problem on a Saturday. I will also be posting pictures of damage that was done while they were getting the furnace in the attic... in the 10 years I did hvac. We never damaged the customers more than some paint... i let the pictures speak for themselves... a 4,000 dollar furnace shouldn't incure hundreds more in damages done to the house... 4000 should get a furnace and the house its installed in left in good shape in my honest opinion...

My heater stopped working so I called Dukes. They answered my call immediately and sent someone out within an hour. That someone ended up being Duke himself. He arrived fully masked and gloved for COVID, then wiped everything down when he left. He was professional, courteous and fixed my furnace right away. The reviews claiming that they overcharge were unfounded in our case. Duke was here for over an hour, fixed the furnace and charged $125. Now if anyone thinks that is a rip off, they haven't had to call for appliance repair much. I called a couple other companies that either didn't answer my call or couldn't get anyone out for almost a week. I would recommend Dukes to my friends and will call Dukes again when I have a need

Great response time! Living in coleville it's difficult 2 get anyone 2 call back let alone come out but Dukes was here within 2 hours. Very polite

I called Duke's Plumbing when I had a leaky toilet and a slow draining sink. The appointment was handled in a very courteous, professional manner, and the appointment was made for the following day. I was called the next day prior to my appointment because an emergency came up and it became necessary to move my appointment out a couple of hours. I appreciated the apology for the inconvenience and the fact that they communicated the change before they were to be at my house. The plumber was very courteous and repaired both problems without incident. I felt the charges were very reasonable, and I did appreciate the senior discount. I would highly recommend Duke's Plumbing because of their professional, courteous service and excellent communication.

This is a warning to all customers, I advise to reconsider hiring Dukes Plumbing. Dukes Plumbing has a bad reputation for taking advantage of single senior women, by overcharging them and by convincing them to make unnecessary repairs. I have already filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau as well as the Attorney General's office. Only these matters will not be resolved until later in the year. In the meantime Dukes Plumbing can remain open for business. And I am simply asking for the public's help in not hiring Dukes Plumbing, with your help we can put companies like this out of business that tarnish our community. THANK YOU
NOW IF YOU NO LONGER SEE THIS REVIEW IN A FEW WEEKS, IT JUST GOES TO SHOW YOU HOW DISHONEST THIS COMPANY REALLY IS. BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO PAY TO REMOVE REVIEW'S THAT HURT THEIR COMPANIES CREDIBILITY.

As a real estate professional, I refer all of my clients to Duke's Heating and Plumbing. Whether it's various inspections/repairs during the escrow period or after their purchase for any issues needed to be taken care of, Duke's is always promptly there for you. No job is too big or too small for the team and they will travel the distance. You never have to worry about waiting days or weeks for service as ""time of the essence"", is taken very seriously. Expect the VIP experience, top notch professionalism, knowledge and honesty with this company!

Duke's over charges and doesn't guarantee their work. They came to my place of business and charged us $230 for less than an hour of work. Then the drains started backing up again less than 48 hours later. We called Duke's back and they said ""Sorry, we don't guarantee anything."" We called another place they came out only charged $160 and found a drain cap that either Duke's missed or caused the misplacement. I have to businesses in town and will make sure that I let everyone know that Duke's doesn't guarantee anything! And they over charge! Save yourself the hassle and money and call someone else.

I am a construction professional with 35 years experience whose mother lives in Carson valley. My mother noticed a small condensate leak next to the furnace and when her regular guy wasn't available, she called Duke's. They replaced the inducer motor and charged 475 for a part which should be around 350 including 30% markup. They charged an additional $165 for cleaning service which had to be done over by her regular guy. The leak came back. Nearly $900 for what should have been 500-550. Don't use them. They did provide a $46 senior discount though, probably felt guilty.

Conscientious and highly competent service. Good folks!
