In 1993, Duke Gutierrez, licensed in California and Nevada, entered the plumbing field with a family-owned firm in Southern California. In 1996, the company moved him to the Lake Tahoe area.

Motivated by their dedicated clients, Gutierrez and his wife, Margie, opened their own firm in 2009. They set a goal to have six trucks in operation within five years, attract a higher-end clientele, and offer a comprehensive selection of products along with 24/7 service. Roughly 90% of their business is residential, with the remaining portion serving light commercial clients.

I am a construction professional with 35 years experience whose mother lives in Carson valley. My mother noticed a small condensate leak next to the furnace and when her regular guy wasn't available, she called Duke's. They replaced the inducer motor and charged 475 for a part which should be around 350 including 30% markup. They charged an additional $165 for cleaning service which had to be done over by her regular guy. The leak came back. Nearly $900 for what should have been 500-550. Don't use them. They did provide a $46 senior discount though, probably felt guilty.

Can you say ""rip-off"". Can you say ""price gouging""? Repeat these to yourself before you even thinking about calling this terrible company. I would never let them near my house again. After they replaced the hot water heater they put their sticker on it with their phone number. Before I sold my house I made sure to make a note by their sticker with the message, ""No, no, no. You will be ripped off"". Recommended by Home Depot so Home Depot must have been getting a ""gratuity"" for the recommendation.

Kind of a bummer experience. Was having trouble turning on the furnace so gave Dukes a call. I didn't realize the gas company had turned off service ""due to construction in the area"". Anyways, Dukes charged me $115 to tell me the gas was off. The guys were nice enough but feels steep for the service provided.

i wish i had read the revews before hiring this company, we had a furnace f ailure in Gnrdnerville Nevada the technician said that the furnac e could not be fixed due to water damage we agreed on a new furnace and we were charged $4,500 with insta llation we accepted the deal because we did not want to leave the tanant without heat in the middle of winter, as son as the technician left the tenant noted a leak dukes sent a technician to fix the leak but the tanant still noted water leaking again when we called Dukes to fix it they wanted a credid card because they said if the leak ws not related to heiir work they were going to charge us anoher $150.00 just for going to the house we tried to explain that the leak wasin the same place they argued and demanding a credit card before they go to the house to check it out they ripped us off with the furnace price they did not do a good job and demanded more money only when we told them that our son is an attorney and we are going to take them to court for damages they agreed to fix the problem ,i hope we do not have to deal with them again.Very bad people.ND,CALIFORNIA1

I will never use this company due to the worst experience with customer service I have ever received. I called to schedule some repairs on a home and when asked how the bill would be paid I stated ""through escrow""...in a split second the manager said she was sorry they don't accept that thank you for calling and hung up. She did not give me even a second to respond....obviously she could have just said they don't accept payment through escrow and we could have easily solved the problem by working out payment on site....not accepting through escrow is not that odd anymore, but excuse me if I don't know your specific policies...I am absolutely appalled at the attitude and will never recommend this company to anyone based solely upon the experience in scheduling.

We called Dukes to get a quote, and he then charged us for a service call when completing the bid, before he or his staff lifted a finger. If we did the work he bid for, he would waive that charge. WTF? Protection racket! I have never been charged for an estimate before, buyer beware! Go somewhere else, there are lots of plumbers you can use instead of this shyster.

DO NOT USE...Had them come out last year and gave me an estimate to fix my A/C which they charged me $110 for. They gave me an estimate for repairs, along with prices for 2 different new units. I decided to hold off until now. I call again July 5th and asked for the copy of the estimates that they did, which they sent. Then called back and wanted to schedule an appointment for the repairs only, not for a new unit. They said ok and gave me a date and time a week out. Less than 24 hours when they were to arrive, I got a phone call saying that they could not do the repairs at the estimated price but would be able to come out to give me a new estimate and that it would cost ""A LOT MORE"" for the repairs. When I asked why they didn't tell me this when I called to schedule, the lady started screaming at me saying ""I TOLD YOU"". Well B*%#!... if you told me that, then why was my appointment scheduled for repairs?
I FEEL THAT BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT THE NEW UNIT, THEY WANT TO JACK UP MY REPAIRS INSTEAD! TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE, OVER PRICED! NOT WORTHY OF EVEN 1 STAR. WILL NOT EVER USE OR RECOMMEND!
