Pros:
1.Phil is a personable guy with reasonable rates.
2. Has a wide range of skill sets.

Cons:
1. Does not show up when promised- Phil no called no showed on us multiple times.

2. Comes to jobs unprepared- Phil came to finish our sink drain but did not have the copper pipe necessary, nor did he have the nova vent or HVAC materials he needed to do the other work required. Due to being unprepared jobs took longer than necessary to complete.

3. Leaves jobs unfinished - Phil pulled down the heat runs to two of our bedrooms on a Saturday even though he didn't have the material to replace them. He said he would be back on Tuesday to replace them, but he wasn't sure. Left our venting for our washing machine undone. Completed some framing work, but did not tack one of the baseboards of the floating wall into the concrete so the wall is unstable which needs to be fixed. Did not leave space around the door he installed for shims in order to adjust the door for accuracy. When questioned he said the door was fine when he left.

4. Unethical business practices- We gave Phil $200 for HVAC material that we never received after 1 month. When asked about the material he said it was already paid for and we could not get our money back because the wholesale place would charge him a restocking fee. I told him to charge me the fee and give me the difference back and he would not agree to do so. I also requested that if he was unwilling to refund us the money that he drop the materials off at our house. As of 3/28/14 he has not done so, nor has he followed up to resolve the situation.

5. Defensive and argumentative when questioned by a customer- When I called Phil to talk to him about the HVAC materials that we paid for and did not receive, he was angry and asked by we went out to buy the materials ourselves (We did so because two of our bedrooms were without heat and no timeline for finishing). He refused to give us our money back. He was supposed to call on Wednesday night (3/26/14) so that he could show up with the material and fix some of his work what was done poorly and we have yet to hear from him on (3/28/14). When questioned about the installation of the Nova vent to our washer he said it was completely up to code according to the new plumbing code. I asked him if he would tie it back into the venting for the other plumbing in the basement and he said it would cost me. He was unwilling to adjust his plan to meet the customer requests.

Do not be fooled by this contractor. While he is a nice guy, he does not stand behind his work and when questioned becomes argumentative and defensive with customers.
