Drains Unlimited of Wakefield MA was contacted late Friday afternoon on the start of the Memorial Day Weekend. The hot water holding tank for our 40-unit condominium building was leaking, and the floor drain in the boiler room was clogged, so water was backing up. Fred, of Drains Unlimited, who has done prior quality work for our 40-unit condominium building responded promptly. The floor drain in the boiler room was unusually challenging, but Fred refused to give up and employing various equipment and techniques ultimately managed to clear the drain. Clearing the drain $$$aved us from having to take the hot water heater off line for the holiday weekend, which would require $$ubstantial re-plumbing and would leave everybody without hot water for the long weekend.

Not only is this company terrible, but if you give them the bad review that they deserve, they message you some pretty negative comments that no one can see.. Says a lot about the integrity of this company

These people are just looking for the easy way out and a quick payment. They don't want to actually put any work into finding or fixing the issues. The do a quick fix and if the problem happens again they start accusing YOU of being the problem. They came in with an attitude and were on the defense the entire time. They'll toot their own horn and mention over and over that they've been doing this for 35 years. Don't let them trick you into trusting their judgement. Find a company that actually knows what they are doing instead! You'll save yourself some money, time, and aggravation.

P.S. Owner responded to my review suggesting I'm reviewing the wrong company bc I live somewhere else now... I lived in Medford for 3 years. Trust me, the review is for HIS ""business"".

P.S.#2 Owner has continued by sending me immature, unprofessional, harassing private message based on my review, using poor very grammar:

I was on the phone with my daughter when worker from Drains unlimited came to my daughter's apartment. I was appalled at the manner in which he spoke to her. Accusing her of lying, threatening, confrontational. Wanted to call 911 for his verbal abuse toward her. In addition he was unable to diagnose the real cause of the problem which was identified afterwards as having to do with an upstairs apartment and not from anything he was accusing my daughter of doing to cause backup in sink.
Incompetent and just a nasty human being.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I noticed others have been accused of lying by workers from this company, I have had the same thing happen to me. The man who came to my apartment was not interested in hearing the problem or finding a permanent solution. He was argumentative when we told him that he did what several other plumbers have done in the past, just snaked the drain and said it's fixed. I asked him if he was planning on doing anymore because I didn't think the problem was fixed. It was going to continue happening. He raised his voice at me and accused me of putting stuff down my kitchen sink. He was screaming at me outside in front of all of my neighbors. He called me a liar. He wouldn't tell me what he found in the drain or show me a picture. He was unhelpful and unprofessional. He told me to go away because I was irritating him and he kept yelling at me and threatened that he'd see me in court. Pretty much it seems that when these people can't figure out how to solve the problem, they accuse you of lying. Be warned, this company is unprofessional and unhelpful. Do yourself a favor and don't do any business with them.

This has to be one of the most unprofessional companys I've ever had at my house. This shouldve been a nice easy job swapping out one hot water heater to another. First the office never called me to confirm an appointment. So the guy pumps down the water and instead of using the drop sink right next to him he drains the water where my washer drains and flooded it getting water on my sheetrock. Lucky for him I was home sick today he gets the old water heater out then comes up and asks for help to get the old one out says he can't do it himself. Don't you do this for a living or why don't you have a helper just some random women in your van. Gets nasty rusty water all across my basement and basement stairs never cleans it. Takes him over 6 hours to do this easy swap out. of course never put the washer drain back in. Go down after to check find my gas line is sideways now and that he never sealed the exhaust vent into the chimmeny. Comes up tells me he is done and just leaves doesn't shut any lights off or lock up the doors. Never bleed the air out of the lines so you are not done. On top of all this new hot water heater is not level and for whatever reason installed this with a piece of cardboard under it. Extremely dissatisfied with this worker and company in general

Can't say enough. I have upstairs apartment bathtub that was leaking into the downstairs apartment. It was a mess. My cousin, who knows these things was out of state at the time and when I explained the problem he assumed it would involve breaking into the wall and require a major repair. So I was expecting at least a GRAND to get this problem fixed. I called and left a message at 9pm and received a call back within a half hour from Scott. I explained to him what my cousin thinks the problem is. He came by early afternoon the very next day. He repaired the vent and the lever to the stopper (that fell down into the drain) and snaked the drain. to my surprise that was all that was needed. What could have been a big project and one I easily could have fleeced on ended up only being a less than $200 fix. I was amazed. This is one of those gems and will make sure I recommend them whenever I can.
