Cleaned the drain but also cleaned my wallet. He knew what he was doing but padded the bill every way he could. I have no way of knowing if he was honest, but I would not call him again.

This is the best plumber in the area. We have had 3 different plumbing problems/ emergencies over the past 2 months. Toilets blocked by an internal obstruction, a bad leak in an outdoor pipe flooding the garden, and most recently our hot water shut off valve connection from our washer was fused shut and rusted. They were very quick to answer the phone and come promptly even during our first problem, memorial day weekend. We will not call anyone else!

This company is a rip-off! Made an appointment with the company, got a quote but told it was a free estimate before work was done. I called around to get better quotes and found someone better suited for my job so I cancelled the appointment with Drainman Pro. My request to every company I called was to have a clean out, video and a copy of the video sent to me. Come the next morning I had someone at the job was waiting for the person I had made the last appointment with and this company shows up. Long story short, this was not the company that was supposed to be doing my job, but he started it anyway before I was there and had a chance to clarify things. Within a few minutes the other company called me to let me know he was on the way and then it all made since. Drainman Pro showed up for an appointment that had been cancelled! Since he was already started on the job I went ahead and let him finish, however, when I mentioned about getting a copy of the video he said he could not do that and there was no reason for it since he was going to show me where the problem was (that was not what I wanted)! But I told him I wanted the video copy anyway for future use and then he told me his camera was not working so he couldn't video it. So I asked about him about cleaning the sewer out as I had originally requested and he acted as if he didn't know anything about that and proceeded to tell me he would have to charge me quite a bit more for that....although when looking back on my original notes now their price for cleanout, video and a copy of the video was going to be $189....he was charging me $225 without the cleanout and a copy of the video...and if I wanted the clean out it would be $350...and still no copy of the video. So the representative of this company was a complete rip-off! He showed up to a job that had been cancelled, but had it not been cancelled he showed up 1 hour late, he had old equipment that did not work, he did not give a free estimate, he did not stay with is quoted price and he was totally sloppy on the job. I would not recommend him or his company any job, big or small. You cannot trust them!

I had an emergency on Sunday with a sprinkler pipe leakage. He estimated cost of $780 to $1,100 cuz he figured he would be there all day. He spent 1 hr and 45 minutes and charged $789.00. I consider this price excessive, taking advantage of an old widow on a Sunday. Shame on him.

I can only echo the previous reviews, avoid this company in spite of their huge ad in the yellow pages. They are bait and switch. We picked them out of the YP because their ad said stoppage cleared for $99. They came out and their guy first told us our cleanout was insufficient because it was a one way and we needed to change it to a two way, which he quoted me $1,700 to do. The he said he could get his snake through the opening into the house and quoted me a price to do it for $349.I told him I would not pay that much and he could leave, I would call for a second opinion. He didn't want to leave so he told me if he could do it easily the price would go to $189, and if he couldn't do it easily he would leave and charge nothing, so based on that I told him to go ahead only since he was already there. He got his snake through the opening in nothing flat and cleared the stoppage, then took a little extra time to chat and run extra water, so his total service time was about 50 minutes. He then presented me with a bill for, guess what, $349! I told him I had already said I wouldn't pay that much and what happened to $189? he claimed he said that was only if the blockage had been from the clean-out to the street, which is of course not what he said. i told him that he could tell his boos that I would never do business with their company again, and he just laughed. i then went on their web site and sent a note to the owner advising him of this business practice, and of course never got a response. This company should not have a license and should not be accredited by the BBB, they are dishonest.

The most important function of Yelp is to warn people when a vendor of a service, especially an important one, like sewer pipe repair and replacement, is a party that one should, by all prudent measures, avoid. My experiences with Sylvanai, the owner of Drainman Pro, fits this category.

I had an old sewer pipe (lateral) from our home to the street, under our lawn, that had deteriorated with root intrusion through a few seams in the 50+ yr. old pipe. I got a few bids for pipe burst replacement, which is about a 1-day job, made far more complicated and expensive, by the way, by Contra Costa County's abusive permitting fees not required in other counties, by the way) plus City ""encroachment"" permit fees -- totaling +/- $1000! (All the local agencies like to pile on with permit fee and inspection requirements that are over the top to keep their union staff busy and rake dollars off from property owners to fund bloated pensions.) I called a sewer pipe replacement company in Riverside County, and they told me that the same job there costs $2200 (half), because there are not permit fees and multiple inspections involved for a pipe replacement entirely on a homeowner's property.

Sylvanai showed up in his unmarked beater car (no truck), and after a cursory look, told me he'd beat any bid I could get but that he'd write up a bid under $4000 for the job and do it for us. After I received nothing, I called him back a week later and left messages with his answering service. I was ignored. I finally reached Sylvanai on his cell phone two days later.

He apologized for the delay in getting back to me and promised to call me back within the hour. That call never came. I never heard from him again.

This company, from what I can tell, is not for ""real"". Anybody who flakes out so totally on returning calls, writing up a bid, and meeting even basic courtesy or professional standards, should be avoided.

Can you just imagine how difficult it would have been to get satisfaction, had I actually paid him for the job and there were workmanship issues? Avoid Drainman Pro.

I have used drainman for about 10 years for many different services- unclogging drains in and out of the house, rerouting drains and replacing various plumbing materials, replacing old plumbing system, etc; they have always been forthright and done excellent work.
If you are not satisfied, they will return to make sure you are comfortable with what has been done.

My main drain was clogged so I called Around to get prices They quoted me a price over the phone and said someone be be there with in an hour, about 50 minutes later Kali from Drainman pro arrived and cleared the drain as it turned out I had roots in the system. Kali was prompt, professional and stuck to the price I was quoted. I will call them in the future for any drain problems

Had a Clogged toilet on a Saturday.
They charged $94.00 just to use an auger I could have bought for much less.
Plus of course a service fee plus time and a half.

Wouldn't use this company again.
