My husband called this company late last night after coming home to backed up drain flooding our garage. Chad was helpful and assured they would have someone out the following day (today) at 5pm - great. So 5pm comes around, nothing....an hour later still nothing so I decided to call and check in. It's Friday, there's traffic, etc so I understand running behind, but wanted to make sure they were still coming. Chad said he just talked to his employee heading to our house and he's stuck in traffic. He said he would call him for an eta then call me right back. I said that was totally fine and appreciated the update. An hour later, no call back, no eta, nothing. I texted chad asking for the time of arrival and he replies that his worker is now not coming and they can come the following day. We are expecting a house full of people tomorrow and absolutely need our toilets up and running! I understand running behind but you know earlier on that that might be the case. It is the responsibility of the business to keep their clients updated and give them the opportunity to seek other options if needed. Instead we had to track them down for updates only to be told 2+ hours after they were supposed to arrive that no one was coming. This is just bad business and I would not recommend these guys to anyone.

For any one looking to convert from septic tank over to the Contra Costa County sewage service, I highly recommend Chad Danelson and his company Drainline Plumbing in Oakland, Ca. Chad was fantastic to work with, reasonably priced, and performed the work quickly and to the exact County specifications. He even dropped by on his birthday to ensure the work was done properly and the cleanup had been performed to his expectations. Most importantly, Drainline plumbing is on the County's approved contractor list which streamlines the permit application process. The entire process from permit application to sewer connection was less than a week.

My experience was Chad and Drainline Plumbing was excellent, so although it was a few years ago I want to leave a review. The sewer line beneath the concrete slab floor of four rental apartments had corroded and collapsed. A new line had to be run, a huge job which included tenants having no kitchens or baths for a few days and having to be put up in hotels.
Chad's analysis of the job was excellent, and his bid was reasonable. His crew showed up on time and laid an new alternate sewer line outside. The work was done cleanly. The foreman was great and had been with him many years.
The hard part was tearing up and replumbing the bathrooms, and coordinating with the other workmen rebuilding the baths so that tenants were inconvenienced and in hotels the shortest time possible.
The job was difficult, of course new problems arose, and everything was handled as smoothly as possible.

-I should have read the Yelp reviews before working with Chad Danelson and Drainline Sewer Specialist.
-Both of his contractor's licenses 1009295 and 979608 didn't have any current issues.
-He started working without a contract. He still hasn't provided a contract.
-He lied and said that the job was complete and passed inspection.
-I mistakenly took his word and paid him thinking it was complete.
-I checked back with the City/County and found that the inspection actually FAILED.
-He left the street in a condition that the County has issued correction notifications.
-When other contractors see his work for the cleanout access, they point out that he botched the job.
-The job is still incomplete and I'm going to have to find someone else to possibly redo the entire drain line.

Paid Chad to stop feces from backing up into the tub and toilet in an apartment. When I asked for my promised permit I was screamed and yelled at over the phone. He told me to get in line with other customers. The problem reoccured while the tenant was in the shower in November, Chad called me again to talk over and yell at me!! BUYER BEWARE!!

initially this was a very negative review of chad and his business. this morning he came by and addressed each of the complaints in the review that was posted.

he spent hours cleaning up after himself and crew and made everything right.

he also took the time to sincerely and honestly apologize for himself and his crew. it was contrite and we deeply appreciated it.

it says a lot that someone would read a lengthly, impassioned review and instead of just being angry take it to heart and make things right.

When I managed a large commercial property in Oakland's Fruitvale District that had been recently purchased by an out-of-state corporation, Chad came highly recommended by another property management company to run PSL testing to obtain a Compliance Certificate from EBMUD. After evaluation, it turned out to be a much larger project than anticipated, being that the commercial property was 91 years old. As Chad and his crew began their pre-scheduled work that required some excavation, 5 to 10 ft down from the building, the sidewalk and out into the street on International Blvd, they suddenly found themselves working in the middle of chaos! Police, firemen and multiple press crews from various news stations, as well as curious bystanders, suddenly appeared, emerging upon and around them due to the Ghost Ship fire that was happening almost across the street, but having the best vantage point to report from. However, in spite of the multitude of distractions all around them, they continued to work diligently and professionally, remaining on track, and completed the work as promised, on a timely basis, in spite of all the people and non-stop activity surrounding them. The tenants were able to return, open their businesses and were restored full use of the building's plumbing without hardly skipping a beat! All well within the time frame Chad had originally provided without any knowledge of the sad set of events that had transpired and was transpiring as they prepped the area for the work they had contracted to do. The BEST part...his bid to do this job was way below what his competitors had quoted, each describing almost identical tasks to be done! His company and the services they provided maintained an excellent level of professionalism throughout. Whether your needs are large or small they come HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I had a great experience using Drainline. I needed a sewer lateral replaced in Oakland. Their quote was the best, they pulled permits and were ready to do the job in one week. On the day of the job, they had the manpower and machinery necessary to do a tough job. The sewer main was 8-9 feet under the road surface, my old lateral was broken, and there was a gas line right above the main that added further complexity. They successfully negotiated all of the hazards and completed the work to the satisfaction of EBMUD and City of Oakland inspectors. Add me to the list of satisfied clients.

Chad is a great guy and will do his best to complete the job if he knows he can. He will not do something he feels might be problematic to save everyone stress. I would recommend him for drain line work and clogs.

Chad was very knowledgable explaining all the aspects of the pending sewer lateral replacement required in Oakland before my parent's home could be sold. His price beat everyone else's. His crew showed up on time and worked well as a team. I'm glad I found them.
