Called on a Saturday morning for a sink that backed up from a second floor shower (in a house that we just moved into) and tech Dave arrived a few hours later was very professional and took incredible care of our house removing water from the sink, clearing the backup and cleaning any trace of being in our home. Additionally he was very friendly and knowledgeable on what we could do to ensure that we don't have the issue going forward.
Sioban S.Had an issue with sewer waste backing up into my basement... immediately began speed dialing every plumber I could find and one of the few that called me back had me describe my problem. She recommended I call Drain Shooter (considering they could have come out, charged me and given me the recommend after their fee, hats off to them for being good guys), and Charlie was able to come out that afternoon. He was prompt, very courteous and so personable that he put my frantic state of ""I have literal CRAP flowing into my house!!!!"" into ""Well, this sucks, but I have a game plan.""
Charlie had me flush a couple of times, run the shower to see what was going on and diagnosed the issue quickly. He then used the camera to try to get to the issue, but it was farther down the line. Turns out, about 50 feet from my house, the tree on the sidewalk decided that it's roots were better fed from inside the sewer line than in regular dirt. Gross...
Charlie repeatedly tried to get through and dug out a ton of roots to help with the flow, recommended that we install a back flow valve (which we did the next night) to help with future problems, but since it's a sewer line, it's a much more involved process.
Unfortunately, in our case, the pipe needs to be re-lined or excavated and replaced.
As much as I'm not looking forward to that part, I can't say enough good things about how Charlie handled the situation. Walked me through everything, explaining as he went, gave recommendations on the plumbing, laid down plastic while he worked, disinfected everything and cleaned up when he was done. He even came out to meet the emergency DPW crew that I had to call and helped explain the situation and where the blockage was...
He stood there with me in the pouring rain talking to these guys. Was definitely a 'not all heroes wear capes' moment for me.
Even though Charlie had more 2 calls to get to that night, he didn't rush the job, he never made me feel like he had somewhere else to be and he left me far more educated than I was going into this dirty little event.
I can't say how much that was appreciated and if you ever need them, ask for Charlie!
We had a problem with the kitchen drain. Came on suddenly not gradually. All of a sudden one day it was clogged and when we turned on the disposal it water would go down but it would bubble back up. Like it was pissed and about to prove it. So we decided to fix it ourselves. Did the plunger thing. Nothing. Bought a 25' snake and open up the pipe below the garbage disposal and ran it into the line, pulled it out. Nothing. Still a pissed off sink with more water in it. Called a plumber someone recommended. The guy was nice enough but he came in analyzed the problem the same way that we did. Pulled out a 25' snake and ran it through the same cleanout plug that we did and then closed it up said he couldn't find the clog. So nothing. He looked up Drain Shooters on his phone and gave us the number. Said he'd heard good things about them. Then changed us $100. Whaa???
Soon as he left we looked them up ourselves and called Drain Shooter to see if they could have a look. This was close to 8:00PM in the evening and the person told us that someone would call us in the morning to let us know what time they would be by. I was a little miffed that they couldn't give me more of a window but we went with it.
They called back at 8:01 and I could have sworn she said she was Jane Shooter and my first though was, ""wow, there's someone named shooter? Really?"" then I realized....
Anyway she told me that someone would be coming over this morning if someone was available and I told them I was. Again not so clear on the ETA but I said OK. I called back to ask what this might cost approximately and she told me one price if it was in the drain and more if it was in the main stack.
Charlie showed up around 10:00. Just like I like my plumbers, friendly enough, quick, efficient and business like. Said his ""howdys"" and went straight to the sink. Listened for three minutes about my experience with the sink then asked to look at the basement. Figured out what he could get to and what he couldn't and made a plan. Put a camera into the cleanout and concluded that the two snakes that had been up the line before were both turning up the wrong way when they got a few feet into the wall. Brought in his snake and special magic.(He claims that the snake talks to him) and managed to get his snake to go in the right direction. I could hear the water going down the drain in the basement. Thank god! Charlie was conscientious about covering the floor in the kitchen so he didn't make a mess and cleaned up everywhere he had touched or spilled and then picked up is stuff and was out to the truck with his check where he wrote up the receipt and returned to say good bye. Shook hands and was gone. Took about 40 minutes altogether I think. We did share a few drain jokes and he was great about telling me what he was doing as he went. I really appreciated that. Felt like I got a little education and my money's worth.
And now I'll be able to have dinner in peace tonight. Nice!
Had a drain issue on a Sunday morning and called this company to clear it. Women on phone informed me there would be additional charge for weekend call which I readily agreed to. Thaddeus showed up within an hour and immediately tries to diagnose problem. He explained everything he was doing and was careful about cleanliness. Really nice guy and super competent. Would highly recommend this company due to superior service provided by Thaddeus.
Jason K.So. If you see the Drain Shooter van on the road, there are a few things you should know.
First off the Drain Shooter van owns the road. At this point you may not know, but it's your responsibility to get out of his way. Best option would be to park in the breakdown lane or simply drive into the woods, but not being in the lane he wants is sufficient.
Do not drive near the expressway on ramps near the Drain Shooter van. He takes the on ramps from the left lane only. Preferably the third lane but at least the second, and never from the right.
Be warned. The Drain Shooter van has blinkers, but they will NOT be used. Again, it's your responsibility to convenience him.
If you happen to find yourself of the expressway and you were foolish enough to be behind the Drain Shooter van, then move out of it as soon as possible. His minimum speed in the left lane is 85. No slower.
The Drain Shooter van is actually a formula one race car equipped with a body mod to make it appear to be a van. Also the driver has possessed the souls of Evil Kinevil and Dale Earnhardt.
In conclusion, Drain Shooter is top notch at getting s h i t out of everything except it's drivers seats.
