I needed to have an inspection of a downspout pipe that went underground. The pipe had been capped off, and the previous owner of my home replaced it by attaching the downspout to a different, cheap pipe. It looked like an amateurish kludge to me. So I assumed that the pipe that was capped off was blocked.

I wanted an expert who understood drainage and had the necessary inspection equipment. So I contacted Drain Masters based on prior reviews and expertise in drainage as listed by the company.

Ian from the company performed an optical inspection on both the capped off pipe and the ""kludgy"" pipe. He pushed his optical inspection camera into both pipes and discovered that both pipes daylighted around 50 - 75 feet away in around the same area (on the side of a hill). He did not find any obstruction in either pipe.

In addition, he inspected some area drains that led to the capped off pipe and verified that they were also unobstructed. Although neither Ian nor I can figure out why the ""kludgy"" pipe was installed to begin with (and why the original pipe was capped), I am happy that at least the mystery about whether both pipes worked was solved. Based on Ian's inspection, I will probably uncap the original pipe, redirect the downspout to it and abandon the kludgy pipe.

While Ian worked, I continued to ask him questions about my exterior home drainage, and he was happy to answer me and give me his expert opinion. I found Ian to be extremely competent, honest and a delight to interact with.

I would like to give Drain Masters my highest rating.

Ian came the minute I called, as my toilets were all backed up. I had a deteriorated pipe in the sewer line. Plus he installed a clean-out. Stayed on the job til it was fixed. Excellent clean up too. Very conscientious and professional. Definitely recommended.

I couldn't recommend Drain Masters enough! As a real estate professional I always call them when it comes to sewer lateral inspections or installing clean outs but over the MLK weekend I had a client's kitchen sink back up, water was not draining and the garbage disposal was malfunctioning. The new home owner had another plumber come out and after running a camera and snaking the line they not only were unable to unclog it they recommended as a last resort to break the flooring/concrete to dig out the drain line. After a frantic call from the new home owner I reached out and left a message at their office on a Saturday and Chris D. returned my call and told me they would come out first thing Monday morning to snake the line and was sure they would be able to unclog the line otherwise there would be no charge. Needless to say they saved my client thousands of dollars and a huge headache for my client and I had my client agreed to have her flooring removed when it was recommended. They are responsive, efficient and very reasonable on price. Highly recommend Sean, Chris & the entire team!

We had a blockage in our main sewer line that was creating some very icky conditions in the house. I called Drain Masters and within 2.5 hours, our Technician was at our door! Paul was friendly, clean and professional. He was very efficient in taking care of the main blockage. Before he left, he asked that I flush all of my toilets to make sure they were working. One was not and Paul spent quite some time working on it to assure it worked before his departure. The service was great and the price was fair!
