We have had a recurring driveway drain problem for a while (it gets clogged with dirt and debris). We had another company look at it and after snaking and hydro-jetting, no luck. Our driveway becomes like a lake when it rains.

I got a recommendation to call Drain Kleen, and I called them. They scheduled me, and the techs arrived earlier than expected today. I explained the whole history of the problem to the technician Vinny and he assured me he's been doing this for 20 years so let him see what he can do.

He got the snake set up and literally had it clear in 5 minutes. I was shocked. He explained that the reason was that there's a bend in the pipe that the other guy probably couldn't feel. We ran water in that drain for 20 minutes to be sure it was good.

I asked a lot of questions too, about ways to prevent the issue in the future. And Vinny and his partner were very helpful and willing to share their knowledge.

The bill was $265, a little high, but what you'd expect for NYC. But I was still thankful and tipped the guys. And they were appreciative too - Vinny said he wished all his jobs were like this one.

They responded first of four companies, within a minute of the request, beating the second place response by 30 seconds.
They had a plumber here inside of two hours.
They used a pressure hose to clean away the blockage. The entire job took less than two hours for two plumbers. They charged too much for the job $850 ($750 for cash). It was probably a $300 to $400 job.

This company is a joke. They should remove emergency from their name because they really don't understand the meaning of the word.

I originally wrote the above review, but after speaking with the owner I understand his position and explanation regarding their emergency response status. My management company followed up with them the following morning and they did immediately respond and correct the issue.

BEWARE!! This guys trying to charged 800.00 for a 15 minute job inconveniencing my tenants over 3 days & as witness by myself & my tenants didn't do what's been billed. Copy of certified letter to owner:
I e-mailed & subsequently certified mailed a requested for a detailed break down of hours worked and tasked addressed for the above invoice, these requests have been ignored. The hours billed are in
excess of those observed by myself and my tenants. Further statements by your own workman seem to conflict
with your apparent billing policy. In order to resolve these issues, see below our observations of you & your
employees work & statements. Suggest you review and indicate which ones you dispute.
1. Day 1
a).October 31 2017 I requested service for a clogged tub. I was at the house my tenant in the apartment, & we observed your workman was in the apartment 10 minutes. On what basis do you charge for 3 work
hours.
b). He told me he couldn't work on the tub because he didn't have right equipment, Is there something unusual about a 2011 installed A.S. tub that precludes working with standard equipment presumably on
his van?
2. Day 2
a). November 1, 2017 Your workman was using a hand drill powered auger powered rather than a power
auger, is that common practice for you?.
b). Both the workman from day 1 & 2 told me as they left I owed nothing because they either did or accomplished nothing. Is your policy to have employees make these statements, and if so on what basis do you change the status of such time to billable?
c).In the subsequent phone call you claimed the line couldn't be cleared & the pipe had to be cut out.
3. Day 3
a). November 2 2017 do you dispute you told me your workman had unclogged the drain without cutting the pipe and made a hole in the ceiling below to check for damage.
b). My tenant reported they were done in 40 minute I checked the ceiling finding no evidence of a pilot hole. Do you assert your workman made the hole and on what basis do charge for 3 hours work?
I subsequently offered to pay for service call which owner ignored if they try collections I'll take them to court & update this evaluation.

I called them at 9:30 am today with an emergency, the guy took my name number and address. Told me it would be 1hr - 1 1/2 hrs for someone to be dispatched to me. that he would call me when someone was on their way... it is 8:32pm and I never received a call. If they didn't have someone available a simple call would have been professional.

I had someone from Drain Kleen come to my house this past Thursday. This company was recommended by my plumber. Had a problem with a clogged waste pipe. Spoke with Dominick and later with Joe. Professional and friendly people. They sent someone out to my house, promptly, and problem was taken care of. Serviceman was also very friendly. Price was reasonable and I was extremely happy with their service. I would highly recommend this company. Thank you Joe.

Used this place in April 2017, 1st time technician was excellent and honest came in took care of problem using a toilet auger, fast forward 9 months later 2nd time called with same exact problem, same location asked for same honest tech, not available but according to ""Joe"" we have honest guys of course new techs come explained exactly where it's at, same problem ,1st tech clears in 10 minutes, other helper comes in with heavy duty electrical snake and clears main . I am wondering why they are even coming in with that remind you water was cleared within 5 minutes, my suspicions were correct when I was left the bill double from 1st time in April. After speaking with Joe was told we have $50,000 payroll we couldn't do a job for you in April for $150 "" we cant stay in business for that price we didn't do that job"", Esther the payment processor informed me my last call was on ""April for 150"", when confronted with this Joe informed me that they cleared a washing machine line in April..."" That's why the price was cheaper"" "" No Joe you had a tech who cleared the problem not remotely even close to washing machine line in 5 minutes in April and was honest enough to charge for the work he did, your same tech did the same thing in roughly 10 minutes and brought out fancy machinery to double charge and clear a Main Sewer line instead of a clog coming from bathroom, whats worst is used my Auger to do it. True bait and switch from this business, stick with reputable honest company in the future. My techs were Bob and Bob.

I cleaned the calcium build up out of the drain and then i was showering in a small pond bc the drain was backed up. These guys are excellent! Professional and speedy! Highly recommend! (And they put plastic booties on bc it was raining and we have carpet upstairs bless them lol) 5 stars! Thanks Joe and staff! I can shower for xmas now!
