I recently had an issue with my main drain backing up into the basement. I called One Hour Rooter who came out and refused to snake the main line and instead tried to push water jetting on me for $1500. At that point I sent them away and talked to a friend who is a former master plumber. He told me they were trying to rip me off and referred me to Drain King.

After speaking with Chris who was very knowledgable, Drain King sent Jimmy out the next day to look at the situation. He walked around my house to assess the situation and went above and beyond even though it turned out to be an issue with a sewage pump. We weren't sure if it was the responsibility of the city or not but he waited to make sure the city didn't try to push off the blame. It turned out to be my responsibility but thanks to Drain King and Jimmy I now have an understanding of the problem that One Hour Rooter couldn't figure out. In fact they were completely wrong in their assessment of the situation.

Do yourself a favor. and skip the rooter companies advertising on price only to tryto upsell you on outrageously expensive and unnecessary solutions. Call a reputable company like Drain King where they won't try to take advantage of you and know what they are doing. I've never had a better experience with a company I've hired to address a problem in my home. I couldn't recommend them more.

We had an emergency with the basement drains. Our plumber recommended Drain King to us. We called and they were able to get us in right away. Which was great! Seven hours later and a huge bill, they finally fixed the problem. However, we were left with a giant mess to clean up. Plumber could've been more efficient with time. He mentioned discount (also mentioned online) since this was the first time we've used them, which we did not get. And they added an additional charge which I will not get into. Sadly, we will not be using Drain King again.

We all know that basement sewer drains only back up on Sunday's and holidays! So when ours started flooding the basement floor this Sunday morning while doing a load of laundry, I called Drain King since I had used them before with good results.

They dispatched someone immediately to the house. Tony, a pleasant and thorough technician, cleared the drain of roots and debris and got us back on line in a minimal amount of time. Thank you, Tony!

Total charges came to $255. A fair price for an emergency Sunday call. Recognizing that not everyone's situation is as straight forward as ours, costs will understandably vary. So, yes, I will definitely use them again but next time for ""prevention services"" before things get out of hand!

Three days ago my tenants had a sewer back up. My management company called Drain King to come out and clean out the sewer line. The technician arrived at 9:30 and could not find the clean out. He looked in the well room and even spent a load of time looking out in the front yard to find the clean out. He continued to work on this until 3:00 in the morning when my tenants finally told him he had to go. They charged me 1 hour at $270 and the additional 5 hours at $260 for a total of $1,570.

Because he couldn't find the clean out he had to do the job from the soil pipe in the laundry room which meant that he had to use another 50 feet of coil and he still couldn't reach the street. Since he couldn't get the job done the night before, he came back again at 9:00 in the morning and had the city blow out the main sewer line. The clog remained, but the city line was clear so he worked on it for another 2 1/2 hours at $128 an hour totaling an additional $320. When they finally got the whole job done the bill came to $1,890. I have had the same job done two times previously for less than $200.00 because the technician was able to find the right clean out and get the job done in about an hour. In their favor, they did realize that $1,890 was a little high for the job so they gave me a 20% discount and the final bill came to $1,527. That was still $1,200 more than it should have been!!!

So, my advice to you is FIND SOMEONE ELSE to do your job. These guys are not only expensive, but the technicians are dumber than a bucket of rocks! In the end, I got my sewer line cleaned and then I got royally reamed myself by the bill!!! I can't believe that they had the audacity to charge me $260 an hour for some dumbbell to waste his time looking for the clean out in the front yard!!! I'm surprised he didn't go over to my neighbor's house to look for it too!!! He was a total loser! Don't use these guys!

Recently had a problem with a slow main drain, originally called a different plumbing service that couldn't fix the problem and tried to sell me on a $1,500 service(Hydro jet). Called Drain King, they quoted out 1/3 of the cost of what their competitor was charging, but they strongly felt I didn't need the service the other guys said I needed and that they could clear my line by cabling it. In short, they cleared my drain line, notified me of some minor problems I never noticed that I fixed on my own. From dispatch to technician they were very knowledgeable. They charged a bit more than other guys, but they did a better job and knew what they were doing. I know who to call first now

I had a plumbing issue at the house and Drain king plumber came out 3 times trying to fix it.

1. Each time they assured me that the problem was solved and it wasn't.
2. They lied about installing new parts when parts were used and leaking.
3. They charged me for each time they came out and weren't able to fix the problem.
4. Manager (owner?) threatened to hang up the phone when all above issues were brought up to his attention.
5. Not enough? They do charge extra for all these awful services...

I've used Drain King twice over the last three years to snake roots out of my main sewer line, both times the service was very prompt, thorough, and very reasonably priced. The servicemen were friendly, helpful, even funny, despite the nature of their visit -- not pleasant work!
