Had a major blockage in the main outflow line in my Hayward house. I tried to snake myself and was unable to find a DIY solution; problem was ~60+ feet down the line. I kept hitting something that I couldn't pull out. This decommissioned my laundry, one toilet, and one shower.

Called Drain Doctor at parents' recommendation from years before. Whoever I talked to on the phone said they'd provide a free estimate. Had an appointment the next day at noon. He called to confirm day of about an hour beforehand but it came in as a 13 digit number that I couldn't call back. Odd. Redialing 800-921-1151 connected me to him anyways.

Scott #56 showed up right at 12. I showed him the problem and we ran all the toilets, showers, and sinks in the house. He identified where he thought the problem was (same spot I did) and went up on my roof to look at the main line? He said it would be $450. He said that where I snaked from (U joint from laundry) was not the best spot.

He ended up snaking/rooting from the roof and got it flowing within 15 minutes, in the light rain. He then ran the water ~5 minutes to confirm unblockage. We couldn't find a cleanout pipe and he quoted me $2,300 to install one. He was in and out within 45 minutes.

Quick service and I snagged his card for when this happens again.

I had them install 3 center set faucets in my bathroom. The job took only 1 hour and a half and I was charged $260. Outrageous. I found some white putty of some kind on one sink. Once I cleaned it, I found that he had scratched the porcelain leaving a permanent brown mark. Tried to cover it up Very disappointing. Never will use them again.

BEWARE! Drain Doctor will rip you off!
I have used Drain Doctor a few times in the past. Jobs were done fine although their price were kind of expensive. However, there was once a few years back when they sent an Asian plumber to do a simple repair on the leaky toilet tank at the connection of the tank and the tubing to the water control knob. I was charged $200.00 for a 5 minute simple repair.
Two weeks ago, I had a broken cartridge from a shower and tub faucet and I asked for an estimate from Drain Doctor. This Asian plumber came again to give an estimate of $245.00 for the repair. I had the replacement cartridge ready and I searched the repair videos on YouTube which showed a similar repair of 10 minutes at most. What on earth is the reason for an outrageous price of over $200.00? I asked this plumber his hourly rate and his estimate on the time he expected for the repair. He could not give me an answer!

I found another plumber from another company which charged $175.00 for the first hour and got my faucet repaired in 15 minutes. DO NOT USE DRAIN DOCTOR!

Young came to see about our overflow mess, He was very through going over step by step what he needed to do to unclog the pipes . We decided to put in a waste box. He was very good - problem solved.

My kitchen/washer clogged last night. I called Drain Doctor about 8 AM and the technician showed up about 9 AM. He was very courteous and knowledgeable.
The job was outside the house and he finished in less than 30 minutes. The place where he worked was left clean.
He was able to provide advice on other plumbing questions that I had.
The sewer lines in my home need maintenance from time to time. I would definitively call Drain Doctor next time.

These guys are great! We had a major blockage at a rental property in Fremont and drain dr came in to found that we needed to snake the entire line and install a clear out.

During the course of the job. Ray and the entire Drain Dr team did their best to make sure the job was done thoroughly and efficiently. They took great care at making sure the job site was clean. They also did their best to make sure that disturbance to the tenants was to a minimum.

At the finish of the job a camera was run and small debris was found in the pipes. Ray did not hesitate to go in again with a snake and call for a hydra jet system to completely clear out the drain like they initially promised. - They wanted the job done right!

Great plumber, great job. Great company.

My elderly Mom called this company for a clogged toilet/drain. They came out and charged her over $1000!!! Shame on them! Within two weeks, 2 more drains backed up, I called them to first complain about the first service call and to tell them more drains were backed up and they told me it was under ""warranty"" and would come right out and take care of it. Well they did and tried to get another $600 out of her. Outrageous! Thank god I was able to intercede before they could get any money out of her. Beware!

I live in a house that seems cursed with plumbing problems and I've called Drain Doctor numerous times in the past 15 years for an entire range of plumbing problems. They've arrived at all hours to my house, even coming at 2am before to clear out a blocked sewage line that was partially caused by tree roots growing into the pipe. They dug out that section of pipe and installed a replacement so our plumbing would work again... at 2am!

They have over a dozen plumbers and we've seen a number of them over the years. A couple of them were top notch and the other two were somewhere between competent and good. The only issue I would bring up about them is that they seem to be a company staffed mostly by non-native English speakers. Some of their plumbers may have difficulty conversing if you have a complex issue to discuss so if you need your plumbers to be very interactive and talk you through decisions, these guys may not be the right ones for you (though one of the guys they sent was indeed good at the bedside manner thing too).

Every one of the plumbers we've had dispatched to our house has been very nice and courteous to the point that my wife almost feels good about calling them. I do too.

My toilet backed up late Friday nite (not to overflowing, but dangerously close). I'm a senior living in Oakland in a home built in 1923 with only one bathroom. Called Drain Doctor first thing Saturday morning. Ray Ibanez showed up within an hour, assessed the problem within our preliminary interview, assembled a team, and got right to work exposing the sewer lateral alongside my house. Sure enough, those 95-year-old cast iron pipes and drains were rusted through and collapsing. Even though excavation, pipe removal/ replacement, and final inspection took about a week, Ray and his crew synchronized patching and reconnecting the drains so that I never had to vacate the house . The process was ""trenchless"" which meant that they didn't have to dig up the side of my yard all the way down to the street (over 50 ft) to replace the lateral -- they just made 2 holes, 1 at the curb and 1 alongside the house. Ray explained the entire process to me in detail, showed me what materials were being used, and kept me updated on scheduling. I'm a bit anal retentive so I much appreciated his crew making sure the work site was tidy before they left each day, and removing shoes before entering the house. If you need to call Drain Doctor, make sure to ask for Ray. He's professional, knowledgeable, articulate, and thoroughly knows his craft. He's also super courteous and was infinitely patient with me -- answering all my questions and explaining things thoroughly so that I knew exactly what was being done. Problem resolved. The new pipes will probably last another 95 years.

I order main line service clean back in August, 2017, and main line sewer is re-clog again. Between my 2017 and previous cleaning was 10 years ago, so I believe they did not perform the cleaning right.
