I had purchase water heater from these guys 8 years ago and I was told to buy professional water heater so I could have life time warranty for the unit. I called them today to find out warranty is only 6 years. Beware!!!! Never deal with them again!!!

We had Drain Doctor to install a water heater last May. It was good, fast.

That is until this happened:

Last week, our pilot light went out due to a gas outage, and we called PG&E to come and lit the pilot light. The PG&E technician pointed out that there is a piece of glass missing on the pilot light chamber, and he noticed that there is no broken glasses around the water heater. He informed us that he can not lit the pilot light as it is hazardous to do so.

SO, I called Drain Doctor, the dispatcher were very nice and sympathetic and arranged for an technician to come out to install the glass and lit the pilot light the next day.

One day forward, the appointment time come and went and NOBODY showed up. I then call the company, and the dispatcher told me that they don't have the glass and I have to order it myself (I did not even ask her why she did not call me to let me know before the appointment time). I pleaded with her that we need hot water because we have little child in the house, I asked her to find a way to help me to get my hot water turned on in the house. She called bask a little later to let me know that a technician was on his way. (so far there on mentioning of any cost issue).

The technician was nice enough and checked everything and offered no explanation to the missing glass. Before proceed to lit the pilot light, he casually mentioned that that would be a $85 charge. I was surprised and refused to pay. SO he said he could not do it. I then called the company and had a very contentious conversation with the general Manager (JIM??). His explanation to the missing glass is that it may fell inside the chamber, I reached inside and found no glasses. Then he said that there may never be explanation to the missing glass. He refused to have the technician to lit the pilot light and said if we want them to install the glass, he will have to charge us for the labor.

We have never touched the water heater after it was installed, the glass can not magically walked away and leave no traces.

Be very aware this company, if you have them work on your project, make sure that we check their work with a truce professional to make sure that you don't run into our kind of problem.

Safe bet is to work with someone else.

Had an emergency repair, and John Lo came out to fix it. He managed to get us the min price (would have given 5 stars but I don't want to give impression it was cheap). He fixed the pipe leak in min. time, did a great job, very professional. We were very happy. Accepted VISA.

WORSE company EVER! Do not use them... they charge exhorbatent prices and don't back up their work. I paid them $400 3 weeks ago and they were only here about 35 minutes. Then my sinks just backed up again and they came out yesterday and quoted me $700. I called the manager back and said no, you need to warranty this. They just came out again and quoted $250 to snake and replace my ptrap.. ridiculous. TERRIBLE customer service... The WARRANTY is a joke... DO NOT USE THEM... Call ANY plumber but not them! I wouldn't even give them one star but Yelp made me LOL

This company has diamond certification, and they seem to know what they are doing, but the cost of their service is high. The work done was a simple snake out of a clog from the kitchen, took less than 1/2 hour of actual work. You are first given a price, which was 3 times the amount from other advertised companies. The price was so high, 395 dollars, that I didn't answer him.
Then he goes through a routine to give 10 % off, then another discount,and waits for a response.we still didn't say ok.
So he ended up going down to $280. Other companies advertise $88 cleanout, for instance.
Most customers are vulnerable , because a stoppage of all kitchen work, that they will be willing to just get it done, which we did.
We just didn't like the transaction of business this way.

Had a problem with the drain in my bathroom called Drain Doctor and they came right away! After arrival they assessed the problem and got right to work. Only took around 30 mins to fix my drain with no problems at all. I highly recommend their service they are extremely efficient, knowledgable, and the pricing is reasonable.
