My waterbill went from around $50 a month to over $250 a month beginning in December. I knew I was screwed. There was no way a running toilet was doing that much $ damage and we had some serious freezes during that month. I knew it was going to be bad. I called the city out to investigate. They confirmed a leak and said that it was on my side not their side (of course). I called a friend who runs maintance for a local apartment complex group and he recommended Dr. Housecall. When I called the very first time I spoke with Barry (the owner). Barry sent Jeremy (tech) the next day and he confirmed there was a leak somewhere between my house and the waterbox. Jeremy quoted me $1300 for the job. A job which would involve digging up part of the sidewalk and possibly tearing up my deck, steps and fishpond. I reluctantly said Ok (and also thought to myself there was no way in hell it was only going to be $1,300.) During the job day, Barry sent Jeremy and Jerry (both techs) to do the job. I hung out with them the whole day and watched them work. They were a pleasure to hang out with while they dug up the sidewalk and drilled into the front of my house to repair this leak. The good news is that they didn't have to tear up my deck or fishpond because the ran the water line in a different direction. The sidewalk and some stone 16x16 tiles were the only casualties. Anyway they did a great job and the quote matched the bill exactly in the end. I talked with several several neighbors (we all have the same style homes by the same builder) and they all have had the same work done at some point or another. One of my neighbors told me the same job for his house was $2000. So it looks like I got a pretty good deal. So in the end Dr. Housecall = Good guys and great work and price. I recommend them to anybody with plumbing issues.
