I don't know how an estimate for a water heater replacement that other plumbers charge under $2000 for cost $4800 from this place

Had a problem with the heat in my house this morning. Making things worse was the temperature outdoors was below 32 degrees. I checked the pilot light for the Weil Mclein boiler in my basement -- despite several Attempts to light the pilot, it would not stay lit, and thus no heat in my house. So I called a couple of contrac I knew -- unfortunately they were not available to help. Hence, I decided to check on Yelp.com for heating specialists. Found Downtown Plumbing & Heating with positive reviews-- thus I decided to give them a call. i called around 11am, and got a dispatch for someone to come to my home by 2 - 3 Pm. At 1:23 pm, George arrived well ahead of time with the right part to quickly resolve the boiler issue. I am very happy with the service, and enjoying the warm heat on this cold night. Saving their number for the future!

I have an older home and have had problems with the plumbing etc. Downtown Plumbing & Heating returned my call promptly and dispatched their technicianto my home; he arrived in great time. Tyquon was very helpful and informative in explaining repairs to resolve the problem. I am very happy to have this ongoing process resolved by downtown plumbing and heating!

Absolutely awesome. If you need a mater plumber, this is the company. They were hugely helpful when national grid shut down the property I manage. I was completely melting down over this. But once I called Dominic I felt better. Once there, he explained what needed to be done and then it was done. They did a lot of work there, and handled Department of Buildings red tape/paperwork and obtained authorizations needed.

National Grid told me we had to have a master plumber. So if that is what happened to you, take it from me - after you meet Dominic you will feel better. They are a good option for all plumbing - not just master plumbing work.

George was also there a lot and he's so so AMAZING AS WELL. NOT ONCE did anyone talk to be like I was an idiot over not being mechanically inclined. I have no idea about plumbing. But when I wanted to know process, they were so informative and explained it till I had a grasp on what they were explaining.

Dominic was, and is, always reachable. I don't think even once when I called him, he didn't pick up. Thats impressive.

Dealt with Downtown's Anthony Myhre on everything from an LL152 inspection / rectification to a leaky drain and he has been an absolute pleasure. Quick communication / very understanding of a homeowner's concerns and Downtown has always shown up when they say they are showing up. These guys won't leave you hanging where some of the larger players will decide they aren't even interested in a job.

Terrible. Worker showed up drunk and stoned and refused to wear a mast in my house. Charged thousands of dollars for botched install of new water heater and multiple failed attempts to fix. Two weeks of no hot water until finally it was fixed. We were promised a 10% discount and were not given it.

Unrelated to their services, but just witnessed one of their trucks hit a person while backing up to drive away and just drove away. Luckily it was minor since she was able to hit the van hard to alert the driver.

The van was parked right next to and partially on a crosswalk, which should not have happened in the first place.

The crosswalk was full of people so the driver should not have gone in reverse at all and waited till the street was clear.

Wish these drivers would look out their side view mirrors before going in reverse and hitting a pedestrian..it could have been worse.

Plumber they outsourced the work to this past saturday, think his name is George from his heavy accent. Called Friday for Saturday morning, we agreed on 12. 1pm rolls around and he's still a no show, i call him up and he basically forgot so he shows up at 1:30pm. Does the work, and i called the main line Saturday to leave a message to call me back so I can pay the invoice. Its Monday today, stepped away from my desk and i come back i see a missed call from the plumber and he's yelling and cursing via a voicemail saying that they tried to reach me all morning to settle the bill both him and the company, which i didn't receive any calls but the one call from him, basically straight lying. Would not use them again

Excellent service! Amazing efficiency, v experienced and skilled plumber and reasonable price.

Details: I called in a panic about a leak at 7 am, technician called back within an hour to confirm details, plumber arrived v shortly thereafter, he diagnosed problem in 10 minutes. I was advised of exact price of replacement part and service. He went off to get a new replacement part and returned and installed v efficiently. I was assured if any further leak they would sort it out. Exemplary service! So great to know of this company!
