There are so many respectable companies that want your business and will provide excellent service, there is no reason to use this company. It comes from the top, the owner, Joe, who is rude and burned out. He doesn't give a damn about his customers and has enough business. If you happen to be an insurance referral, they will blow you off because they can't rip you off. To them, you are not a customer, just a pesty homeowner with plumbing issues. They are least interested in customer service. Their website is just another standard marketing tool with no truth to it. The Plumber was supposed to arrive between 2- 4pm, but then they called around 4:30 to schedule an appoinment! Now the tech said he would be at my home between 8-9pm. I called him at 9:15pm to find out when he would arrive and he said he wasn't coming! He didn't call and probably had no intention to show up for the job from the get go. He didn't offer any apologies, just ""oh well, too bad."" Talked to the owner the next day and he had the same ""take it or leave it"" attitude. This is a large company led by an arrogant owner. Bad attitude by the employees rolls down from the top!

I've just had my first experience with Downey Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning, and I must say that I am very pleased!

They were able to see me at a time where the temperature was extremely hot, and most of the other A/C companies were too busy.

The tech that came was Ezequiel Rivero, and he was professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. He really knows his stuff and probably could teach air conditioning classes if he wanted too. He knew exactly what the problem was that was preventing my outside unit from kicking on. He had the problem fixed within an hour, but he gave me great advice to have the fan motor replaced as well so as to minimize he chance of the unit going out again. I am glad I had him do it since now I can have peace mind as we continue to use our A/C.

He then checked all the air output at all the vent registers throughout the house to ensure that the air had the proper temps coming out after the repairs. This guy is good and thorough.

As for the cost of all the services, it wasn't cheap, but the quality of work was worth it. As they say, ""You get what you pay for.""

I now have a new A/C company (Downey Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning) to call for any issue.

I have been using Downey Plumbing Heating and Air for many years now. We had an issue with water leaking. We didn't know where it was coming from. We called Downey Plumbing to get a second opinion. Sure enough the first company we called out misdiagnosed the plumbing issue we had. Josh and Jonathon from Downey Plumbing was able to find the issue and fix it. Thank you Josh & Jonathon!

My floor furnace quit working. because a friend knew the previous owners of Downey Plumbing I called them. My house is a rental and I live 89 miles away so we set up a meeting time. Alex arrived right on time. He checked the furnace and said they would have to remove it and replace a few parts. Price was $900.00. I then paid the $79 service call charge. This would be deducted when work was done according to him. Because of some issues that needed to be taken care of it would be awhile before furnace could be worked on. I called a number of times asking for a written agreement on this finally taking to the owner Joe he did agree verbally to the agreement but still nothing in writing. The day Alex fixed the furnace my renters were having a problem with the bathtub draining so asked Alex to look at that. He said a piece from the stopper had fallen in so didn't have tools with to fix it. I finally had to call him. When he told me it would cost $725 to fix. I spoke with Joe the owner as I was also waiting for the invoice on the furnace. He asked me to pay by credit card but had big discussion on the original agreement of deducting the $79. Asked him to text me the invoice before I would pay. It took a revision before he did it correctly!! Decided at that point to find another plumber for the bath tub. It cost me $130 to have it fixed.

DOWNEY plumbing is INCOMPETENT, UNCOMMUNICATIVE, DISHONEST and OVERPRICED. Will never use them again.


Just read the response from Joe the owner of Downey plumbing and heating. When I talked to Joe after Alex told me what needed to be done and that the furnace would have to be removed he and I agreed upon $900 minus the $79 service call fee which I had already paid. Joe & Alex knew that there was a problem my renter had to take care of before they could do the job. When he said Alex checking The tub problem was done free that was only after they told me it would cost 700+ dollars to fix it. I said I would find someone else.

Two Words ""Amateur Plumbers"" this kid had to return several days later to repair a water leak. My counters were damaged and they didn't seem to care either. It's a shame. This company was decent in the past years. I should've called Norwalk La Mirada plumbing. Instead I called Downey plumbing. Never again. To top it off they audacity to ask for a 5 star review on yelp. REALLY ?!!!!

I was unsure of who to call to relocate our hot water heater (gas company? Plumber?), so I figured Downey Plumbing Heating & Air would be my best bet as they work with both gas and plumbing. No issues receiving an estimate and we scheduled service right away. Frank and Manuel came out and worked the entire day to get the job done in the estimated time frame. They were courteous, efficient, cleaned up all the mess, and most importantly, got the job done right. They went over all work done and answered any and all questions my husband and I had. I would not hesitate to call them again and I definitely recommend them to my family and friends.

I was really happy with the customer service from Downey Plumbing service guys Jose and Alex they both are very knowledgeable and professional in the work they do. We also felt comfortable letting them in our home. Therefore Downey Plumbing will continue to be our first choice for service repair.

On behalf of my parents we wanted to leave this comment as they don't use the internet much. We needed some work done to our home. Downey Plumbing sent out a technician named Frank M. We just wanted to thank him for the outstanding service. We wanted to start off by saying that first impressions really do matter. He walked up and immediately his tone was soft, kind and caring. He was very knowledgeable. There were things I didn't understand completely and he was able to break it down and translate every step of the way to my parents who only speak Spanish. He was efficient and left no mess behind which was a plus! We will be sure to recommend DP to our friends and family! Thank you!

Made for along day. I called on a Tuesday for a Thursday appointment to service my floor heater that stopped working. I was given a 2:00-6:00pm window. At 5:00 I called to see if someone was still coming out and was told that I was next on the list. Then I got a call at 5:35 to say the technician was on his was. At 7:30 he had not shown up. So I called it a day. Shortly after, I got a call from the technician to say he was on his way. He showed up at 8:20 and was able to fix the problem. Fortunately, it was only a broken thermostat. Very frustrating though, to spend my day waiting. But at least the problem was taken care of.
