i filed an American Home Shield home warranty claim on Saturday due to our main sewer line being completely clogged... which means we can't run any water. of course, it's a 3 day weekend, so I didn't expect to hear from the assigned plumber (not our pick) until Tuesday. I did text once on Saturday, just in case ... then again Tuesday morning. At that time, we were scheduled for Wednesday (today) between 2-4p. Great! I'd be home from surgery at 1p and we were looking forward to showers, being able to use the toilets and doing dishes & laundry again.

I just got a call at 3p, midway through the timeframe they're supposed to be here, saying that they wouldn't be out because the tech remembered being here before and couldn't unclog the drain. THEN I REMEMBERED!

in January , 2024 we had this same problem (there is a defect in our septic tank than makes the main clog up every 9-12 months). Down the Line Plumbing accepted the assignment from AHS. I warned them that they would need a large, electric snake machine to clear the drain. The tech showed up with a rented snake that he had no idea how to use. He didn't know how to make the snake extend or retract. He failed in accessing the main drain (like all the other plumbers before him were able to do) and blamed it on the house. He argued that the problem wasn't the main because he couldn't do it. He tried various clean outs using a smaller snake because he broke the large one he had rented. He blamed the issue on our septic system saying that it must have failed and that is what the issue must have been. All along I was politely telling him exactly where the clog was (from experience, I knew) and how to clear it... but he wouldn't listen. It was a straight line from the main clean out, 50 feet under our house to the inlet to our septic tank.

After he left, I was notified that he put in a note to my claim that the issue was more than 100 feet from the clean out and outside the scope of my policy coverage. Total BS.

Luckily, the dispatched $15 Sewer & Drain to come out the next day and that guy had it fixed in less than 10 minutes. AND he put a camera down the line for free to confirm the issue with the septic tank that is causing the issue.

Now I am waiting for the pros at $15 Sewer & Drain to call to schedule... after Down the Drain (which is a better name for them) wasted 2 days of us not being able to run water.

So.... SAVE YOUR TIME AND CALL $15 SEWER AND DRAIN, NOT THIS MONKEY BUSINESS! They do not know what they are doing.

Have had several plumbers thru the years and never felt the need to leave a review until today. Caesar with Down the Line Plumbing, is a knowledgeable polite respectful young man. After the faucet installation he properly disposed of all materials, left the work area spotless, and remained until he was assured that all was working properly and no leaks present.
