I had a plumbing issue in my kitchen and I had paid $2000. to a previous plumber who replaced rusted pipes but never corrected the problem of residual water backing up in my sink . I consulted with Dovis plumbing Co. who came out and performed a camera analysis of my kitchen sink and connected plumbing in which I paid a $400. nonrefundable fee. They identified that there was a 1 inch gap in the new PVC pipes and the rubber PVC flexible coupling. Dovis Plumbing quoted me a remaining balance of $3900 to create a clean out drain and fix the PVC problem that was a total of $4300 for repairs. They were supposed to correct the problem they identified but the only thing they did was the camera analysis and created a cleanout drain they never repaired the 1 inch gap in the PVC pipe that was identified. The worker contacted David the supervisor after he had completed the cleanout drain and never corrected the PVC gap issue and David the supervisor stated that will be an additional $600. to replace the coupling and I was upset because that issue was supposed to be resolved in the initial work that was quoted for a total of $4300 (that is $400.00 consult plus $3,900.). I didn't agree with the additional $600. and I asked if it could be discounted to $300 and he said no several times, because you told me it would be $4300. for everything and he said no and my kitchen floor was left with the floor busted up in front of my sink and dishwasher and a dirt pile 2 feet high with the drainage system exposed in the foundation of my home for 3 months with spiders and insects coming into my home. I had to pay a 3rd plumber to come and finish the work. It was a disaster. David the manager of Dovis plumbing did not care I had spoken to him on 3 different occassions to resolve the problem in which he never did! He did not care. I will never use their company again!

I am writing a review purely on the phone conversation I had with Manny. I had an issue with my furnace and was concerned about the air and water coming out of the spinovent. He told me not to be concerned and that it's something they can fixed but not this week as they are fully booked with emergency no heat issues (which I totally get cause it's like an ER, serve those in need first). I asked him what can I do in the mean time and he gave me very detailed yet simple instructions and the water is contained. Now, I don't have to go mop my floor every hour. He was professional and nice! Thank you Manny!

Called these guys Wednesday morning and left a message inquiring about cost and services. Within an hour, they called me back, and within 3 hours they were here and working on it. Total came to $299 for about 30 minutes of service on my bathroom and kitchen sinks. Is that expensive? I don't know anything about plumbing pricing and services, but I know that my bathroom and kitchen sinks are now fully functional and no longer flooding. I also know that Dovis was super friendly and accommodating. I felt like he cared about doing a good job for me. Would recommend them to anyone.

I think this will go down as truly unbelievable and the worst overall customer service I have received Great service to begin where they turned up immediately on a Sunday to investigate the problem . From there it got progressively worse. Never returned back to my place to fix the problem, didn't even return my calls. I was so taken back by this I thought I would see how long this would continue - it was over 3 weeks before the owner answered and then said he would call back - I'm still waiting on his return call 3mths later

I called Dovi's to do a job for a client of mine, based on the high number of good reviews that he got. I don't know how he could possibly have gotten such good reviews. Three times he gave me a date that he would get out to the facility, assess what needed to be done and provide a quote for services, and three times he never went. He strung me along for 2 weeks and now I'm back to square 1. Thanks for nothing, Dovi. Get someone else if you need something done quickly.

I'll happily echo the other favorable review of Dovi's Plumbing and Heating. I am a relatively new homeowner in Brooklyn Heights and have had terrible experiences with other plumbers. Dovi responded quickly (both picked up the phone right away and was able to schedule an appointment within 24 hours), provided fast and excellent service repairing a broken dishwasher intake hose and a broken faucet, and was very reasonable from a price perspective. Dovi will be my first call whenever I have an issue going forward. PS, with respect to a few other comments that have been made: -Dovi does have a certificate of insurance; I live in a co-op that wouldn't have allowed him to work without one. -With respect to a plumber's license, although the article is somewhat dated, you can see the basic set of issues here: http://www.nytimes.com/1996/11/30/opinion/unclog-the-plumbing-system.html. Bottom line: for small handyman-type work like I described above (replacing a dishwasher hose and a faucet), it doesn't seem to matter and I can say that Dovi did great work.
