Our garbage disposal installation that was done by this company one month ago completely fell apart last night, we heard water running in the cabinet and found that everything as saturated. I just called the company and told them about this, and that my son had reassembled everything including installing the new mounting bracket that came with the disposer that the company now tells me is not included in the job if it is for a home warranty company, as ours was. Apparently the new disposer did not align correctly on the old bracket and the whole thing fell apart. If only that step of replacing the mounting bracket had been done, everything would have been fine.
I gave them the opportunity to make this right by refunding our 75.00 trade call fee, that was refused so I will have to send this review out and tell the home warranty company about this contractor and show them all the photos I took of the leaking mess. As previous reviewers stated, George the owner is way too jaded to deliver satisfactory service. When he arrived to our home and was asked how he was doing, his reply was ""Old, and tired."" End of conversation.
No pride in workmanship at all for this company, their excuse was that the warranty company would not pay for the replacement of all parts that come with a new garbage disposal unless it was leaking. Never mind that it doesn't fit or match up. Sloppy workmanship. Note to George......RETIRE!
Irene V.Poor costumer service. Didn't provide me with a diagnostic of the problem with the leak in my tub and instead asked for payment after ""fixing"" the leak. I inquired as to what the problem was/what he fixed. I got a blank stare with a minimal explaination. Seemed like he was in a rush to leave as the only comment he made prior to leaving was he was dreading the traffic. After he left I noticed the leaked hadn't been fixed. He turned back around and appeared annoyed when I inquired as to why it was still leaking. I only went with this company as my home warranty referred them out. Would never personally call them to come out for a service.
Zia B.This is who came out to repair, under my Fidelity Home warranty, a water pressure regulator. It's 3 years later now, and it's ""gone bad"" or needed to be replaced.
The lady on the phone could be of no help. Says all their records are in storage, and not willing to ask anyone else at their company, what their warranty period are on them.
I tried to explain to her that I googled the lifespan of those regulators, and she interrupted me constantly and wouldn't let me finish sentences.
I'm glad I've got rid of my warranty company, and glad I won't deal with this company again. It seems these days the consumer gets no help from the companies doing repairs or the warranty company. You're just on your own. It would be nice to live in a society where the company who does the work actually answered warranty questions, could show you or send you a copy of the warranty when asked. Especially when it's under 5 years later.
Pretty poor customer service in my opinion. It seems everyone else agrees with the string of 1 stars.
Kirby C.Home warranty contract. Responded per agreement, showed up on time, fixed a leaky faucet in reasonable time. No problems.
Vicki A.Just to update everyone on my repairs. Everything this plumber said he fixed is not working once again. Had a real plumber come out who was great. They took pictures of all the damage Dove Plumbing caused and how it needed to be fixed right this time. I hope anyone who reads this will avoid these issues and avoid this company.
Where do I even start.. blew off scheduled appointments without calling, significant hidden costs, 3 visits to fix one problem taking a total of 6 weeks!
Plumber won't come to your appointment if you don't answer your phone when they call for a 30 minute warning that they will be there soon. But, they never tell you that! Plumber unclogged a sink, but seemed to not be very good at anything else. Could not fix my water pressure problem or toilet issue. And, left a mess that I had to clean up in each room - black grease all over the tub, grease on toilet seat, goop from drain in toilet paper left on the sink! And his car leaked oil in the driveway. Said he will call the insurance company to say he could not fix the problems. If you have home warranty, insist they send a company with adequate Yelp or other reviews. The Yelp reviews of this company are a HUGE red flag that they will waste your time and make your plumbing problems last longer and also add messes to your house and motor oil to your driveway.
My home warranty company set me up with Dove to fix my leaky bathtub faucet and other minor plumbing problems.
The plumber does not do a good job even with very simple things to fix. In my case, he gave me more problems and dissatisfaction after he fixed the problems.
I will not renew my home warranty contract because of this experience.
In fact, I will never get home warranty contracts.
If you get assigned Dove for your repair, ask for some other plumbers.
If it doesn't work, just check his work very very thoroughly after he completes a repair and test the repaired parts over and over.
M D.Worst plumber ever. One of those times you wish Yelp let you give negative stars.
My home warranty company set me up with Dove to fix my leaky and intermittently running toilet in my guest bathroom in my new house. So this guy George came out, with the personality of a mortician on the night shift. Mr. Congeniality hands me the $65 co-pay invoice before he even asked about or looked at the toilet. I suggested to him it's probably the flapper causing the leak, which I would have tried to fix myself, but it's an oddly-shaped low water toilet with a weird flapper, so I went with a pro - or so I thought. George says no, it's the ballcock. So he replaces that and leaves without sticking around to road test it to see if it's really fixed. He barely said two words to me to tell me what he did and off he went. Sure enough, right after he leaves, it still leaks and runs to fill the tank about every 30 seconds, just like before. So I shut the toilet off here in droughty California.
I called the warranty company again to tell them about Dove's fail, and they said they's send Dove back out. Despite my misgivings, I thought I'd be fair and give Dove a chance to make things right. So Dove calls me again and sets up another one of those 3 hour window appointments. During my appointment day and time, I went into the (working) bathroom for the 1 minute when George called and I didn't answer my cell, so he never showed up. I called Dove and talked to the lady who answered (she is actually nice), and asked, WTH? She said I didn't answer the phone so he didn't come out. Who are you guys, the cable company? Why didn't he call back? They never said they would call first to confirm and not come out if I didn't answer. We had a freaking appointment, I said I'd be here and I was, so show up and stop wasting my time! Totally wasted day I could have been doing 100 other things.
Anyway, she sets up another appointment and says this time, they'll just come out and not call first. So Mr. Personality shows up again and replaces the flapper (as I had suggested to him the first time). While he was in the bathroom with the door closed, I heard this vibrating noise that sounded like a drill or a jackhammer. I thought, wow, he's really working in there with some fancy tools. So George emerges from the bathroom (without any tools, which made me apprehensive about where the noise came from?) and he leaves with barely a goodbye to tell me what he did (let alone an apology for wasting my time, and leaving me without a bathroom for like two weeks because of his previous incompetence). And out the door he went, off to spread his enchanting pixie dust elsewhere.
And then I flushed the toilet. It made this horrible jack-hammering sound! The same one I had head before when he was in there! But much louder since I was inside the bathroom this time. So this total scumbag obviously heard this noise - which didn't happen before he ""fixed"" my toilet - and he just left it like that. How could this unprofessional scammer think I wouldn't notice this? How could I possibly subject a guest to this scary, loud noise? Unbelievable. So I shut the toilet off again here in droughty California.
I then called Fidelity back a third time, and just went off, and actually let the rep listen to the horrible toilet jack-hammering noise which she said she heard very clearly. I asked why they would contract with someone who is so poorly rated on Yelp, and she said she'd forward my complaints to Fidelity's ""vendor rep,"" whatever that is. Someone else here on Yelp had mentioned that they had the same warranty company (Fidelity) and had demanded a different plumber than Dove after they had screwed up. So that's what I did, I said I didn't want this bozo back in my home ever again! Fidelity agreed to send me a different plumber and to comp me the second co-pay.
Fidelity set me up with Pro-Connect Plumbing & Rooter Inc out of Anaheim, which gets 2.5 stars here on Yelp (granted, 250% the Yelp rating of Dove). They called me within the hour, and I have an appointment tomorrow, so wish me luck, and stay tuned!
Our home warranty company set us up with them.... We have a toilet that won't work, and a second that clogs regularly. It took over a day for them to contact us (they weren't answering their phone), and they made an appointment the next day. On the day of the appointment, they said there was an emergency and asked to reschedule for two days later - but that they would call to schedule the time. When we finally reached them, they said that WE had postponed our appointment, and that we would have to wait another four days. They were rude, and were quite happy to blame us for their failure to even honor an appointment or the time frame they provided. Terrible communication, horrible treatment of customers, and no-shows.
Our home warranty company set us up with another company.... Thank goodness!!!
