Today we needed someone to unhook our old stove, and return to install the new one. Our normal plumber couldn't come until Monday and we needed the stove ASAP. Ed Doughty was able to come first thing, within a half hour of calling and was again after the stove was dropped off. He was on time, very friendly, flexible, and did a great job. I would definitely call them first next time we need a plumber, great to find someone friendly and reliable!

Very happy with Doughty & Sons. They came to install our new gas stove and took away the new one. It was very easy to set up the appointment and they were clean and did the work in a speedy fashion. They were also very friendly to deal with both on the phone and in person. I would definitely recommend them.

I am happy to write a very positive review for Doughty & Sons. I have called on them for help for at least five years and each time, my call is taken by a friendly, courteous receptionist who efficiently schedules an appointment for me. One of the two Doughty brothers (usually Ed) arrives promptly at the appointment time. He is friendly, thorough, very knowledgeable, and in general, very professional and does a first-rate job diagnosing the problems and finds cost-effective ways of fixing them. He considers the price of repairs and discusses options with me which help me decide how much I afford to spend for repairs. I would highly recommend Doughty and Sons. My neighbor originally recommended them to me, and they have more than lived up to her recommendation.

I'm very unhappy with Doughty and Sons. We had a broken hot water heater, and called Doughty based on the yelp review, proximity, and the fact that our regular plumber was unavailable. Doughty agreed to help us out the next morning (fine), but then the next morning called us up and blew us off saying he had a ""more important job"". And we're sitting around with no hot water! Look elsewhere for a plumber!

Thanks to Ed Doughty, my partner and I are in the process of buying a condo and feel good about it. After our home inspector went through the place, we wanted to bring in a plumber to get a second opinion on some things. Not only did Ed agree to come look at the condo with very little notice but he was even-handed in assessing what our plumbing needs might be and giving ballpark estimates of their costs. He was friendly, as was the women answering the phone, and they actually called me back! Though we haven't actually asked him to repair anything, I'd feel very comfortable working with him again.
