Doug the Plumber was bought out (private equity?) and they've killed the business. They had a 3rd party in another country answering the phone who couldn't confirm the tech would do a really small job when he came out - only promised an estimate.

When they did come out, the estimate was more than 3 times another bid we got to move an upstairs shower drain about 16 inches. The guy claimed plumber rates in Austin were $500-1500 per hour.

Don't waste your time ... sadly this business will be killed off by the new owner in short order.

Doug has always been first class with out residential and commercial needs. He sold his business and is no longer associated with it.
We called to have a tankless heater repaired and was assured they could do it and were sending their best man with a truck full of parts. For $89.00 they were to inspect diagnose and provide a repair estimate. For $89.00 I was told "I don't know what is wrong". For 500.00 additional dollars he could "probably" figure it out. I decided not to pay for on the job training and he left with his $89.00.
Doug is not the owner any longer and it is owned by a plumbing company chain. Beware!!!

I used them to trench a new water line and install a new hose bib.

Excellent customer service. Scheduling an appointment was easy. They followed up to confirm I was happy with the work, even checking in during the job to see if everything was going okay with the plumber they dispatched. He offered lots of helpful suggestions on my job and even did some quick diagnostics on my well pump pressure with no additional charge.

They finished the work quickly and did high quality work. I'd definitely use them again.

Had some guys come out and they were really great but had an issue with something they did and Marty came back out and got it fixed real quick!!!! This company and workers are great will go back again and again when needed. Very nice and honest people.

Doug's Plumbing is great! We have used them exclusively for 20 years for our various plumbing needs, from burst water pipes to replacing toilets to running new water lines, and just about anything else you can think of. The plumbers are always very professional and genuinely nice guys. They come out quickly for emergencies and show up on time when scheduled. They have always done a great job for us and are reasonably priced. We don't have to worry when we call Doug's. We know they will take care of us.

I want to post a follow up on my previous post. Doug, the owner, called and discussed my experience. Honest man. Good listener. Stand up guy. I felt he was totally objective and understood what happened. I can't believe he is refunding my money. He said something Marty never could say - they got this wrong. Plus, they will honor the warranty on the pump. Who does that? Doug the Plumber does that! Unheard of in today's business climate. Will I use them again? yes! WillI recommend them? Yes!
I still have to find an electrician to do the work, but Doug gave me a referral for Easons.

So happy with this business. We had Ben without a tub/shower for about a week . They came out and fixed the issue in a few hours!

They are professional and do decent work. However, their fees are too high. Ask anyone in Smithville.
I had them do a couple of repairs. Afterwards, someone at the office called to check to see if I was satisfied. I said that one of the issues didn't appear to be fixed. They sent someone to follow up and that person spent a few minutes checking it out before determining there was no problem. Then they charged me an additional $60 for that. Their office is literally 5 blocks from my house and I spent a good chunk of change for the work already. Oh, and the problem they double checked persists.

Doug's Plumbing ----- 5 Star Service ------. Damon and Beto of Doug's Plumbing just re-plumbed the house. They did a super job. Marty worked up the Bid in quick order stopping by several times over the course of the 2 day project. The Office Team exceeded expectations in scheduling and keeping me up to speed on arrival of the team. I'm one of those that likes to 'inspect what I expect' and I must say that their work gives the appearance and functionality of new construction in a 100 year old home.
