In December 2021 I had Don's come out to diagnose and repair my Heat-pump. 2 men showed up 2 days late (they forgot about me on the original appointment day), Diagnosed a bad thermostat and condenser fan and had to order part. They returned about 4 days later and installed the fan, and the Heat Pump still did not work (They then diagnosed the compressor had failed). Poor troubleshooting / diagnostic skills, exorbitant labor rate (over $800 to replace the condenser fan and install a thermostat that I supplied). Bad customer service and High Price. I will not use them again.

I've used Don's for my heating and air conditioning needs for several years. They serviced my old unit until it died and then replaced the unit 7 years ago. They have quality products, use quality parts and have always responded to my calls quickly, usually the same day. The service technician I usually have is Rob and he is friendly, courteous, knowledgeable. Their fees are reasonable and I will continue to do business with them and recommend them to anyone who needs heating or AC repair.

The service they provided me was about 5 years ago.
My outside faucet had frozen and busted (pipe behind the wall). Two men came and were supposed to replace the pipe only. They relocated the faucet above the electrical box of my outside A/C-Unit and also took my older faucet off and replaced it with another one. They did not ask to relocate the faucet.

The faucet they replaced it with leaked every time I turned it on and this water would run all over my A/C electrical box. They also tried to walk away with my water meter key. These guys are thumb-busters. Don't waste your time.

In July of 2012 I had a central air system installed by Don's Heating and Air of Ona WV for 2,700.00. I was told that they would come back in 1 week to check the system and again in 1 year as part of our warranty. Fast forward to July of 2013. Our A/C unit would only cool to 80-85. I called Don's to make them aware of the problem. The next morning, Don McGee, (the owner), called me. He said that he had record that they had given us an estimate, but no record that they had even installed our unit. I went outside and described the unit, and gave him the brand name. He acted like he had never heard of it?? He said that he would come and look at the unit, but he would have to charge us. I found our receipt and warranty info, and called back. He STILL had no record of it, even when I gave him the receipt number. He again stated that he would come to inspect our unit, but that we would be charged, and that he would even ""let us make payments on his labor."" He's unwilling to stand by his work, our warranty, or his word. Now I am stuck with a 1 year old central air system that doesn't cool that I will have to pay another company to fix. If this wasn't bad enough, the guy was a total jerk, on top of being a scammer. IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING PURCHASING AN A/C UNIT IN THE CABELL COUNTY AREA, LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE. BUYER BEWARE!!!
