If zero stars were an option, Donlon plumbing would be receiving that. I used Donlon plumbing for a small job in June 2022 to tighten up tub faucets and re-caulk/seal a bathtub. I felt that they did a good job there and were reasonable, so when I needed my under-sink reverse osmosis system replumbed in October 2022, I figured I would give them a call. I had already gotten free in-person estimates from other local plumbers, but wanted to see what Donlon Plumbing would quote.

After sending photos to and corresponding with the owner, Peter, via email, he quoted a price for the job. Because of my past experience, I decided to go with Donlon plumbing. Throughout this time, there was never a mention of a service call charge. I scheduled a time for a plumber to come out, and the plumber arrived. The plumber spent an hour scratching his head and looking at the existing setup. I provided the original manual which had the tubing setup diagram, as well as shared the manufacturer's setup video, but to no avail. The plumber they sent claimed that a tubing part was missing and that he could not obtain it, but was willing to ""go with his gut"" and connect it anyway? I told him I was not going to authorize him to do that if he could not get the correct parts and do the repair properly, because I did not want to risk water damage or damage to the system.

After he packed up, he tried collecting $95 for doing no work. I told him I was disputing that, and he still told me he had to collect $55 for the ""service call."" All he did was look at the system and tell me it was connected improperly - something I already knew and told him when he first arrived!
I called the office line and spoke to the owner, Peter, on the phone and told him what the situation was. He told me that he ""still had to pay to send a plumber out there."" I told him that other plumbers had given me free in-person estimates, but he would not budge an inch. I gave him every opportunity to make things right and waive this bogus ""service call"" fee, (mind you, a fee that was NEVER disclosed upfront) since they had left me no better off than the day before, but they refused. The plumber would not leave until I paid, which made me feel very uncomfortable in my own home as well. I only wish I had paid by credit card instead of check so that I could have reversed the charges. Instead, I wanted to share my story to warn anyone even considering hiring Donlon Plumbing to stay very far away.

I have now paid $55 to Donlon Plumbing and received nothing for it but an hour of MY time wasted. Donlon Plumbing might seem appealing because they have a large team of plumbers, but if you have a choice and are in a non-emergent situation, do yourself a favor and go with a smaller local plumber that will actually take the time to diagnose your problems and that knows how to actually fix them without charging you a bogus ""service call"" fee. If you enjoy spending your hard-earned money so that an unqualified plumber can ride around in their truck and then meditate under your sink for an hour before not performing any services, then by all means...

Donlon could have made things right and not lost a customer, but chose $55 over doing the right thing. Penny-wise, pound-foolish. Never again.

Donlon saved the day again!!!
We've always used Donlon for our non-emergency plumbing repairs. Last night was different. Late in the evening, we discovered a large trail of water in our garage that we traced to a nearby wall. We were concerned, and knew it needed to be repaired, but did not panic... until we looked on the other side of the wall that is our exterior entryway, and saw our house ""weeping"" through the siding. It suddenly became an urgent situation. At 7:30 the next morning I called Donlon and explained the problem. They were able to get a technician to our home within the hour, and the leak was successfully located and repaired within 2 hours. Joey was the ultimate pro, and quickly assessed the problem by feeling the wall, following water discoloration, and checking the water meter. Lining up with a faucet on the exterior wall, he determined the path of the vertical pipe that would lead to the leak up top. He cut two small squares ~ 1 in the ceiling, 1 at the top of the wall, and immediately detected the pinhole leak right where he cut. From there, he went to work expertly removing & replacing the damaged pipe. The entire experience, from my phone call to completion of the repair was a little over 2 hours!!!
I give Donlon 5 stars ~ for fantastic customer service, as well as friendly, knowledgeable & skilled technicians. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Donlon for all your plumbing needs.

Our water heater died and Donlon Plumbing sent a crew out the next day. they were prompt, courteous, explained options and did an excellent job. We will definitely call them for other plumbing problems

now our garbage disposal sprung a leak. Donlon sent Tony out the day of our call. He was professional, friendly and did a great job. Two good experiences with Donlon!

Our hot water stopped working, Donlon sent a tech out the next morning (it was non-urgent and we were fine with waiting). The tech, Joey, called before arriving and was courteous and professional the whole time. He also made sure to check more than just the water heater to ensure that we didn't have any other issues and was happy to switch out a pipe fixture on the patio while doing the maintenance on the heater. Not the first time we've called Donlon and it won't be the last.

Has anyone had to connect to the City their property if on a Septic tank..do you mind my asking how much did it cost?
I know its major work and i want to make sure I have the right plumbers for the job.

Donlon's Plumbing Company is excellent and the go to plumbing and repair service. They are professional, reliable, and take good care of your plumbing needs. They fixed a pinhole leak in my attic quickly that could have caused major damage.
Most recently Mark, one of their outstanding plumbers replaced a kitchen faucet and dishwasher air vent. He also noticed a frozen shut off valve to the kitchen faucet and fixed it to prevent damage from any future faucet leaks. He was detailed and through in his work and left my kitchen area spotless. I highly recommend Mark and Donlon Plumbing.

Best Plumber in Oxnard! My water heater went out on a Monday and had a new one installed in less then 24 hours. Mari took my call then looked at the photo I sent of my old water heater. She consulted with Pete, the owner, and they knew exactly my problem and had a replacement (exact same model) on the truck the next day. Mike and Alex worked quickly and confirmed the old water heater was beyond economical repair. They took at the old and put in the new with expert craftsmanship.

Thanks to the team at Donlon Plumbing we were back in business in less than one day.

I am very sad to write this review, but unfortunately, the service level has dropped in my experience with Donlon Plumbing. Had a drain backup within less than 2 weeks of initial cleaning, and was charged double ($350) for cleaning the drain. Called and tried to see if they will work with me since it was not reasonable to be charged twice, when the work was not done properly the first time. The lady on the phone was very cordial, and her manager did try to give me a very small discount, but they felt it was still necessary to charge for both visits, which is not ethical in my opinion. I paid them the total amount, but I am going to find another service. Wish them the best.
