I had a problem with a running toilet. The plumber came out and changed flapper. I asked him to look at the 2nd toilet as it was difficult to flush. He changed out flapper on that one also. He recommended that I do not use chlorine tablets in the tank for various reasons.
I left the next morning as the condo is on the market and no one resides in it.
I returned to the condo this past Friday (3/22/19) to find both toilets leaking in the very same place when flushing.
I called the company immediately and there was no answer. I called the next morning (Saturday 3/23) and was told the next available appointment would be Monday 3/25. I explained that both toilets were leaking and I was leaving to go home to GA early Monday morning. She apologized and said there were no appointments available until Monday. I asked to speak to a manager and she told me she would forward the message but they would not get it until Monday. I explained that if I did not hear back from a manager by noon that day I was going to write bad reviews wherever I could.
I did not get any phone call. Now the company has replied to a google review stating they called multiple times and left messages. I will be happy to share phone records with anyone. They did NOT call me nor did anyone leave a voicemail.
This clown also suggested that I am continuing to use chlorine tabs and that is the reason my toilets are leaking (even though they were not leaking to begin with.)
And if that was not insulting enough, he also pointed out that I left one other caustic review online. He is absolutely correct. I only leave scathing reviews (this being the second time) for companies that are utterly atrocious!
I would be very leery of hiring this company.
Thank you.
Brian V.I purchased a service package through a competitor, and on the first visit I was told that the A/C was extremely low on R22, and it was leaking and the unit was to old to be fixed and needed to be replaced. I called Mid-State Air Conditioning to have a 2nd opinion on the unit and to get a 2nd quote for a replacement unit which was $10K when Brendan Donegan showed up he asked me why I wanted a quote on a new unit, he respectfully disagreed with the other company and even took the time to show me the levels of R22 on the unit which was not leaking and doesn't need to be replaced! I am so glad we found this company which will be the company I use for all my future service! Affordable, fair, but most importantly HONEST!
Bethany G.Very prompt service, and they stand behind the products they install. They gave me several options when my HVAC unit was out of order, and followed up without any hassle when I had an unforeseen issue (old breaker, not a problem with their work) shortly after installation. All technicians have been courteous and professional from day one.
Having trouble with a unit and decided to call another company. When the technician arrived he informed me my unit had several pieces missing and had been improperly serviced. Months ago when this company serviced my units I had to call them back twice and now it is obvious they didn't know what they were doing, I will not be using this company again.
We had an excellent experience with Mid-State. They were prompt and courteous both on the phone and in person. Our HVAC went out late on a Wednesday, I called them the next day, had someone out to discuss our options. No pressure whatsoever to buy a new system, but we decided that's what was best given our 11 year old system that the previous homeowners had already done some repairs to. We had a brand new one completely installed by 1pm Friday. Our installer Danieal was particularity impressive--very detail oriented, and did several things I wasn't expecting based on our contract to make sure our system was running as efficiently as possible.
Josie J.Mid-State Heat and Air has been my provider since 1989. The service is professional and personal. The technicians are excellent. I am a club member and have my system checked twice a year. I highly recommend this company.
Leslie S.I knew the day was near when I would have to have a new unit. My old one did not last very long and the ones who installed the first unit in our newly built house did awful! I called Mid-State and we had a new unit correctly installed in 2 days! They had to rerun electrical, tubing, etc. I plan on this unit lasting me a long time! Thanks Mid-State!!
Karen Z.I would recommend this company to anyone who asks! Very courteous; I had a tech come out when my heat/ac quit working- they showed me the issues, and gave me options - I knew I had been living on borrowed time (home warranty program, band aides- would not replace the system). I realized immediately I'd have to replace this system, the tech replaced the part for the heat at no additional cost to me and my AC was so bad he turned it off (it was a week that we needed both heat and A/C). He immediately had me schedule a visit with Chris to go over my options. When choosing my new Hvac Chris was straightforward and did not attempt to upsell me. He gave me options and his opinion on the best for my home, and it was the least expensive. I had done research in advance and their pricing is in line with the average. This is a company that stands behind their products, installations and you get awesome warranties and service. You can get units for less, but you won't have the ongoing service or guarantee that it is installed properly and will meet warranty standards. I am perplexed by the negative reviews, and cannot believe folks actually experienced those scenarios from this company. I am looking forward to my continued relationship with this company and their twice a year tune ups and checks.
They should really have their guys looking more professional. A guy showed up at my home and I didn't open the door because of how he was dressed. This company could indeed use some professional upgrade.
Very late for appointment for tune up. Technician not very knowledgeable. The package unit was low on freon and the tech didn't bother to put freon in the system. They are more worried about up-selling everything besides taking care of the problem. The quoted $2900 to replace outdoor coil and 2nd opinion quote was only $700. They also wanted to charge $194 to clean the outdoor fan (Normal tune-ups the tech typically blows out the fan). Here is what they wanted to charge for the $700 job that another contractor is going to do:
Replace Evaporator $2,995.00 (Under Warranty and they say its leaking)
Recharge System $ 295.00 (5# of Freon)
Superseal stop leak $ 346.00 (Why would you need stop leak if your charging to fix problem)
Clean Blower Fan $ 194.00 ($194 to blow out the fan with compressed air...Really.....)
Install Surge protector $ 346.00 (25 Years never had a surge....)
Start Assist $346.00 (Never had problem with compressor.....why now....?)
So the grand total they wanted me to spend $ 4,000+ just to repair a $3,000 package unit that another contractor is fixing for $700.00. I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND Mid-State Air Conditioning. RUN AWAY and search for a better qualified and honest company. I am sure that this business model will run them straight into the ground taking advantage of unknkowldgeble home owners. Dateline NBC has done investigative stories on HVAC companies deceptive practices. Maybe someone should contact the local media and have them investigate this company. BUYER BEWARE,,,, ALWAYS GET 2nd OPINION especially when dealing with Mid-State.
