Local plumbers that are a great value. I used Done-Rite instead of A.B.C after Done-Right was a third of the price. Don't be fooled by the big guys and hire a local plumber.
Would give zero if I could. They claimed to have done some significant work out front of our yard replacing a broken sewer pipe and supposedly installing a backflow check valve, to relieve the potential issue of water backing up in our basement. Took water during a recent flood event (the ""100 year rain"" that happens every single year around here) and had one of their technicians come see why the check valve didn't work. Turns out, they never installed one in the first place! Thousands of dollars spent on plumbing and then landscaping to fix the giant hole they dug in our front yard only to discover they didn't do the work as agreed.
I contacted their office and tried to reason with the owner, assuming it was a mistake and oversight. The owner never even bothered to call me back and had their office staff tell me they would not do anything about it. I regrettably and frustratingly said I would have to contact an attorney to see if we can get this figured out and they basically told me ""good luck"".
Since then have worked with multiple local plumbers who have either worked with or actually used to work for Done Rite and they agree the place is a joke. New owners are basically screwing people left and right.
Loss of yet another local customer in an area (La Grange) that needs quality plumbers and relies on referrals.
On the night of New Year's day, our kitchen sink began to back up. We contacted Done Rite and they sent a plumber out to our house the next morning. It did not take him long to figure out and fix the problem. They were on time, efficient, and our sink is working great once again. I appreciated them answering the phone late on a holiday and working to get someone to my house to make a repair. Done-Rite's costumer service was great and easy to work with each time I contacted them. I'd use them again if the need arises.
Eileen C.Our special needs son managed to clog both toilets today. I called several places that were closed. Done-Rite put me on a wait list & said I could provide their office with my credit card info once the work was done. Should have read Yelp reviews first, but it was an emergency & I needed to leave for work. ""Mike"" showed up & blocked my car in my driveway. He didn't care that I was late for work & wanted to make sure he would be paid (maybe he was screwed in the past?) & wouldn't move his van until I handed him my credit card. He completed the work in literally 10 minutes, but charged my card $335 because it was an emergency. My babysitter had to ask him for my credit card back. As he was leaving, he rudely said to my babysitter, ""keep the little ***** out of the bathroom,"" referring to my special needs child.
Update - I added a star because of the follow up - someone from their office contacted me and was very pleasant - sent a different plumber out the following day who was also very pleasant and made sure the problem was taken care of.
Brian S.Had another great experience with Done-Rite Plumbing. They did a great job installing a new shower, sink and toilet in our bathroom.
Wes K.I was in Illinois purchasing a property when I needed an honest plumber to look at the pluming system. Jim from Done-Rite Pluming went above and beyond in order to make sure I knew exactly what my options were and how much is the cost. I recommend Jim for all your pluming needs.
We eventually had a deposit of $2969 (for work never started, and incorrect diagnostics(which we still paid for) returned by done rite. However this required a law suit and settlement and award to garnish his bank account and 11 months of time. Absolutely the most frustrating experience, poor business management and lack of personal integrity I have encountered. Stay away!
Aneta T.Per our contract with Done Rite signed and dated May 30, 2017, Pat's company owes a refund of $2,500 deposit for 1/2 of the job that was to be performed, a $1,000 deposit for the parkway bond (he refused to provide that money) and $450 for the permit; which was not necessary because there was no work that was performed that actually required a permit at our property. We are demanding the return of all funds deposited to Done Rite and the payment of our permit (total $3950).
The job supposed to be finished in October 2017. After exhausted attempts to schedule work to be completed and many instances of promised workers constantly not showing up, Done Rite's abysmal scheduling practices and poor work ethics left us no choice but to file a formal complaint with BBB and the Office of Attorney General. Done Rite of La Grange disregarded letters from the above institutions and assumed it is entitled to keep the money without delivering any work.
Moreover, Done Rite company left substantial damage to our basement floor, a pile of debris in our basement, a mess of the parkway and front yard as a result of a few hour pre-work. We never intended to work with persons that constantly lie about all relevant conversations related to the job moreover none of our certified letters had been answered.
We are about to take legal actions against Done Rite of La Grange. So if you do not want to feel powerless and have someone taken your money in exchange for nothing but damage, please do not hire Done Rite of La Grange for any serious plumbing jobs.
Thomas K.My niece asked if I could help her with a plumbing issue she was experiencing. When flushing the toilet, water was flowing up into the bathtub and in the bathroom sink. I figured the drain was clogged so we tried renting a rodding machine from the Home Depot. After several headaches, and pulling out several black tree roots, we decided to call Done-Rite Plumbing. They quickly determined the sewer-line was compromised by one of the village trees. Luckily they were able to resolve the issue without tearing up all the bushes in the yard with trenchless sewer repair
john F.Buyer beware.
Had Done RIght come out to do the annual sewer rodding. They sent 2 guys, which is odd because I've always only had one plumber for rodding.
They rodded and claimed to get 95ft, which seemed far enough for me... but were running up against something hard they couldn't get passed. Which means ""they need to camera"". They put their camera in, and claimed they couldn't get the camera passed 60 ft, and therefore they recommended I dig and put in a clean out for $2400. And by the way the $525 I paid for unsuccessful rodding, and $240 for unsuccessful camera work were not included in that price.
None of this made sense to me...their logic nor their pricing.... so I sought a second opinion. Another plumber came out, explained that it was his practice to include the cost of rodding/camera work in a cleanout. I explained what Done Right told me about my sewer he also said that made no sense. He asked if I had watched any of their work, and I embarrassingly admitted I hadn't.
He rodded to 100ft!. Found nothing blocking my sewer, gave me some great advice, and charged me $350. While Done RIght charged me $525 (because they brought out two guys!).
I will never call Done Right again, unless it's to get my money back. And I will be very vocal with my neighbors about my interaction with them.
