We were in a pinch with company coming for the weekend and a hot water heater that was leaking and about to bust. My husband called Derrick - he was INCREDIBLY high priced but due to our situation, we had him come. He, his wife, and his 5 year old son came Friday late morning. We paid him an advance of $900 that day. He came back with his wife on Sunday to finish. We mistakenly paid him the total bill ($2100) instead of $1200 in another check. My husband called and texted multiple times because he thought he may have written it incorrectly. NEVER a response. AND - BOTH CHECKS WERE CASHED AT THE SAME TIME. This is considered grand theft. The fact that he hasn't returned our phone calls AND deposited BOTH checks when he KNEW we made a mistake shows his true character. If he comes clean, I will update this post.
