Donald fit me into his schedule the day before the 4th of July because of a water question--was it plumbing or AC? He diagnosed the issue (AC), made a very generous deal on the service call because he couldn't help, and was all around pleasant and professional. I will definitely be using him at our new home!

Donald and his crew saved the day. The morning after an unidentified work crew had been making a mess in my front yard, drains started to back up in the house. Donald was the first call I made, and he sent a couple of guys over a few hours later to diagnose. Our timing was probably lucky, but with same-day service, we were off to a good start. Once the crew snaked the drain and identified what appeared to be an unmovable clog waaaaay down the line near the sidewalk, we were told that it'd be necessary to dig it up. Donald himself showed back up well after business hours the same day to nail down specifics for the digging that would start the next morning. As promised, the digger was there first thing the next morning, and what had appeared to require a relatively minor excavation turned into a massive effort, requiring machinery and ALL DAY. Despite the unexpected development, work continued without interruption until the issue was uncovered and found to be telecommunication conduit that had been bored directly through our sewer connection. Donald's team was incredibly helpful, explaining every step of the process and documenting the heck out of the offending underground work that caused the problem in the first place. This proved to be critical in identifying the responsible party. Long story slightly shorter; without warning, Donald the Plumber prioritized our job and, with the exception of going home to sleep, worked nonstop to get it fixed. Their communication was impeccable and the work itself top-notch. Having no idea how much the effort might cost, I was surprised by the reasonable invoice. Once we identified the folks responsible for the damage, I put them in touch with Donald's office, and the invoice was settled quickly. I can't say enough about the service, attention, and overall experience as a customer of Donald the Plumber. They will be at the top of my list for any future plumbing needs. It's hard to find service this good.

Learn from my mistake: Based on positive reviews, I called Donald the Plumber for help with a simple job -- installing a new kitchen faucet and re-attaching the garbage disposal. I provided all parts. He was able to get to me in a couple of days, which I appreciated. I never met Donald, but his 2-man crew was great. I did not ask for pricing beforehand, and when the 30-minute job was complete, Donald charged me $475. When I balked, he offered to come down to $450, which was more insult than good faith. I know I should've confirmed pricing before the work was done (live and learn), but I've never had that kind of problem before. With my little project, his hourly rate was effectively about $900. He claimed that 20 years of plumbing experience justified his charging such an absurd fee.

Donald the Plumber answered the phone right away, came out the same day, and fixed our toilet in about 5 minutes. Very happy with the service provided by this plumber and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. He also has a very nice graphic of his likeness on the side of his truck which you've probably already seen driving around East Atlanta.

The best in the biz! We're using Donald only from here on out! And he's a blast at North Highland :)

Donald is great. We've used him twice - and didn't one other time and severely regretted it. One issue was a far bigger job than anticipated but he stuck to his original quote (I got multiple quotes and he was the cheapest as well as easiest to schedule). The second was a sewer backup. Long story short he charged far less than his quote even though he did basically all the work he was planning to do. We literally were over a barrel, but he didn't take advantage of us. And he advised me to call the City of Atlanta as another problem was in their right of way (he could have fixed it but advised to have the City pay for it rather than me - even though he'd make more $$). Shockingly, the City came in an hour after I called and finished the bit that was needed. Plus, Donald's just a very nice guy, which you don't find very often.

Charged me $325 to replace a $10 part and the work took about 30 minutes. When I asked if he would provide a breakdown of the cost (labor vs materials) he would not respond.

Donald the Plumber just helped us rough in plumbing in our basement and install a bathtub. He was responsive, professional, and did an awesome job. I'm so glad we saw Donald's plumbing van - much better service than we could have received from one of the plumbing chains. We will use Donald for all of our future plumbing needs. I recommend Donald to anyone in Atlanta looking for a local independent guy to do the job right.

NextDoor in the Old Fourth Ward area was full of high recommendations for Donald the Plumber, so I called on him to have a diverter stem replaced. This is the piece that ensures that you don't have a dripping tub filler reducing pressure to your shower head when you just want to take a shower. DtP came the next day, and fixed the problem in a single visit. The charge was reasonable, given that I was not comfortable taking on the work despite extensive plumbing experience, at $175. High recommendation.

I reached out to Donald The Plumber to replace our hot water system with a tankless system based on the positive reviews of others (mainly from next door). The installation went fine until Donald left. Immediately we had a pipe burst on our second floor after I turned on the shower which flooded the bottom floor of our house. Donald at no point went to the second floor to test the faucets (in the installation guide for the hot water system it says to test all faucets). Donald to his credit came back to fix the broken pipe, but in doing so slipped with his saw whilst repairing the pipe and put a hole in our bathtub. So as a result of replacing our hot water system we ended up with a flooded first floor and an unusable bathtub/shower. The following weeks I spent multiple hours dealing with his insurance company and broker to try to recover costs associated with the damage that occurred. In addition, I had two plumbers from two separate companies come by to inspect Donald's work only to find out that the hot water system needed a pipe cover and outdoor vent in order to operate correctly outdoors. Apparently Donald informed me of this, but he would not answer his phone or texts for weeks after the install so I could not get him back to complete the job (others on yelp and nextdoor seem to have the same problem when things go wrong). Eventually I ended up paying another plumber to complete the job so we could just move on.
