Friday afternoon I got a call that the shower is backing up with sewage in one of my rental units. I was stuck in meetings at work till almost 5 when I start dialing up every plumber I have saved in my phone (I think I've got about 8-9). Every single one is either booked solid that day, unavailable all weekend, or not even answering.

I get on Yelp and start hunting down a new plumber and probably call a dozen numbers that are all unavailable. I finally get to Don, I dial up and ask what the chance is he can make it out tonight. At this point it's past 6pm on a Friday night, I can tell he is settling in after a long day. He asks if it would be ok to come out in the morning, and I mention it's for my tenants who I really want to take care of so they can get ready for work in the morning. He agrees to come out and the main is cleared within the hour. Don Rose Plumbing is now my first call.

I need several plumbing repairs in my duplex. When I called this guy, it was like I woke him up and he listlessly asked me if it was a short job or something that would take awhile? I just said never mind, I'll just call someone else.

I don't write many reviews, but I just had to express our satisfaction with Don Rose over a period of the last 4 years. He completely re-plumbed our water and gas lines, which included working in the limited crawl space under the house. He expertly engineered a new location for a tankless water heater, prepared a new laundry service, and hooked up a new dishwasher and sink. His abilities go way beyond plumbing as well. Any electrical work, whether it be new circuits or main panel breakers is no problem for Don. He is reliable, personable and a valuable resource for everything from remodeling to emergency work. And, he has other specialists to recommend if needed. A true professional!

5 stars +! I called Don about my tankless gas water heater and told him the error code I was getting (C11). He suggested I contact pg&e to check the amount of gas entering my gas appliances. Genius! The gas company came out and replaced my meter. Everything runs well now! So nice that Don suggested this course of action. he saved saved me money. Honest man. Thank you!

Don did a great job for us rebuilding the insides of a Kohler one piece toilet. Instead of installing the universal equipment the plumbing store sold us he research the correct manufacturer's replacement kit and brought it to our house to install. This took an extra trip and time on his part that I do not think he even charged us for. I am not sure other plumbers would have done the same. We recommend him

Don is awesome. For a period of time last year, the shower drain in my house kept becoming clogged. One company I called said that there was a bad part of the pipe that was causing it to clog up and they would have to go into a wall and replace it. Breaking into the wall made me nervous because I live in an older house and knew that there may be lead or other chemicals from old paint and it would need to be safely contained. I decided to find a plumber who was certified in lead safety and that is how I came across Don. Somehow Don figured out that the part of the pipe that needed to be replaced was actually under the house. I was relieved to hear this but it meant that Don had to crawl under the house (in August!) and spend hours doing the repair. I give my props to him for doing this. It was a dirty, tough job. Don is kind and professional and I can't recommend him enough. I'm grateful that I found him.

I can't say enough good things about Don. I've hired him three times and in each instance his work was great, his prices were very reasonable, and he was a pleasure to work with. Most recently I had a clogged bath tub that I wasn't able to clear myself. Don came on time and fixed the clogged tub. He also snaked our bathroom sink and then cleaned all the mess that I had made trying to fix the tub! It was definitely above and beyond. I highly recommend Don if you need a plumber.

Don fixed a clogged pipe for us. He showed up when he said he would, and his price was less that others had asked for. He even did a little extra, and also diagramed our system for us. He was courteous, patient, professional and knowledgeable. I would hire him again.

I wanted to hire him again, but the price he quoted was far in excess of a competitor. Plus, he said we needed work that three other companies said was not needed. I think the first job was the bait. Or maybe he was just having a bad patch the second time.

I'm a little late on this review. I've had Don over here twice; once to rooter my upstairs bathroom, and once to complete a hot water heater install. I had started the install myself, thinking I could do it. It got to be 4 in the afternoon, realized I was in over my head, and called Don, pretty panicked. He saved the day! He was in the middle of a job, but came over right after he was done, and worked until 11pm that night, completing the job. I give high marks on his workmanship. He had all the parts he needed on his truck. The new water heater works great! And he told me what I needed to do to stay in compliance with current regs. Highly recommended. Fair prices.
