I've used Don Lake three times over the past 8 years. On the first job he ran a natural gas line and installed an instant-on water heater and installed plumbing for a shower/bathtub. On the second job he replaced a water heater at a different house. The third job was just replacing a T&P valve on my water heater. He was quick to return calls, showed up right away to evaluate the job, did the work promptly and as scheduled and charged a fair price. He is a pleasure to deal with and does great work. I've already used him thrice and will continue to use him in the future.

Don answered directly the first time I called (on a Friday), and was available to work (on two non-emergency jobs) the following Tuesday (which was accomodating to my schedule).
He arrived within a few minutes of his promised time. He listened well, and was clear in his explanation of the work he would do. Don is courteous, and is skilled in the work performed.
His final bill seemed fair.
We will call him in future when we need a plumber.

I am so so grateful to Don for rescuing me today! I had 2 guests on their way to our house, but the bathroom they would be using was not working properly. The knob for shifting shower-tub was totally frozen on tub and not budging at all. He could have easily given up and tell me that I will need to get a whole new valve. If so, we would need to break tiles (My tiles are very old. It will be very difficult to match).

He worked really hard using all his knowledge and creativity, and saved the day for me! He was my plumbing super hero!

We had to send our dishwasher away for repairs and the service team left a leaking hose. I called Don on a Sunday to see if he could get to our house to fix it. Instead of charging me an arm & leg to make the after-hours visit, he instead determined this was a simple matter and proceeded to walk me through what I needed to ask for and buy from the hardware store to make the fix myself. As I read the rest of his reviews, I can only add ""high integrity"" to the list.

We will *certainly* reach out to Don first for any future (more troublesome or larger) needs.

Don did some emergency work for me- our water main to the house. He came out on a Saturday to make sure we had water back as soon as possible, showed up right on time, described the issue and how he could fix it, and did a great job. He worked very efficiently, and the cost was surprisingly low. Don is also a really nice guy- friendly, smart and extremely responsive. I'd recommend him without reservation.

We had a Shower/Tub that had a stopper that was inoperative (the connecting latch broke). We initially called a couple of plumbing services and received quotes between $500 to $800 to repair it - by going through the ceiling just below the Shower/Tub on the 2nd floor! We received Don's name from another service provider and gave him a call to see if he could help.

He came over within the hour and started the job (no ceiling drilling). He spent a bit over an hour and fixed the problem by ""rigging"" a new connector for the latch to the plunger.

When he was about to leave, I asked him for the bill - he refused, saying that this job was a unique challenge. Not deterred and feeling grateful, my wife and I insisted on paying him for his time and results. After a few minutes of insisting, he did take a very fair price for his time and labor.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Don Lake - he is honest, personable and most important, knows what he is doing!

I cannot more highly recommend a plumber than Don Lake. When he came to bid on our project, we both realized it could escalate to a giant scale, to replace our entire old sewer line, 130' long and up to 7' deep. He helped us keep costs under control with good suggestions, created smooth transitions between his time on the job and the work of others; he even introduced us to his brother who helped with auxiliary parts of the project like operating an excavator. There were some big challenges to this repair, and throughout the project, Don's friendly honesty and expertise gave me confidence. Two thumbs up - Don will be the first plumber we call for any work we have from now on.
